For Pb-free soldering materials, two main substitutes are currently being considered, consisting of Sn–Ag and Sn–Ag–Cu eutectics, both with melting points higher than that of the Sn–Pb eutectic. Therefore, both will require higher soldering temperatures for industrial applications. Also, both eutectics have a higher surface tension than the Sn–Pb eutectic, requiring wettability studies on adding Bi, Sb, and In to the eutectics to decrease the melting points and surface tension. The experimental results for the surface tension were compared with thermodynamic modeling by Butler’s method and were used to create the SURDAT database, which also includes densities for pure metals, binary, ternary, quaternary, and quinary alloys. To model the surface tension, excess Gibbs energies of the molten components were taken from the ADAMIS database. For the case of the Ag–Sn system, enthalpies of formation of Ag3Sn from solution calorimetry were used for checking optimized thermodynamic parameters. In the study of Sn–Ag–Cu–Bi–Sb liquid alloys, the range of possible Bi compositions for practical applications has been used to formulate a generalized metric of wettability, which was checked by measurements of the influence of In on the Sn–Ag–Cu system.  相似文献

Biological rhythms in a wide range of frequencies are present in the whole organism as well as within each living cell. Some of these rhythms reflect adaptations to cosmic cycles and help to anticipate changes in the environment. Others integrate and coordinate body. Importance, interaction, and visualization of biological rhythms is presented in this article. The potential of statistical analyses of functional magnetic resonance images using various threshold strategies in combination with correlation analysis was studied by simulating brain activation. Differences in statistical Type I () and II () errors are substantial for the various thresholds. Absolute thresholds and individualized thresholds based on the assumption of a gaussian noise distribution are producing constant -errors and thus do not sufficiently improve discrimination of truly activated pixels even for very high contrast-to-noise ratios (CNR). Only relative threshold strategies related to the maximum correlation coefficient and thus the individual data quality and activation level, i.e., a data-driven approach, can perfectly discriminate true positives, at least for CNR>2.5. To further improve discrimination of activated and non-activated pixel in studies with lower CNR, additional prior knowledge would be necessary. From the data presented, one would also expect that the best performing threshold strategy in this simulation study would perform best underin vivo conditions.Preliminary results presented in abstract form at the 13th Annual ESMRMB Meeting, Prague, Czech Republic, September 12–15, 1996.  相似文献

Plasma-enhanced chemical deposition processes have been studied by comparing the performance of flexible diffusion barrier layers on plastic films produced in the same reactor. Under similar experimental conditions, a higher deposition rate is achieved by microwave discharges than by bipolar, pulsed d.c. magnetron sputtering processes. However, with both discharge modes, dense hydrocarbon coatings were produced, exhibiting a barrier improvement factor up to 120 and a flexibility ranging from 1.1%–8.8% before formation of microcracks started to dominate permeation characteristics. The density of the coatings is 1.0–1.6 g cm–3 and their hydrogen content varies from 23%–33%.  相似文献

BB rats are used as models of autoimmune human IDDM. Genetic control of IDDM in both species is complex, including both major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-linked and non-MHC-linked genes. DP-BB rats develop IDDM spontaneously. Expression of disease in these animals requires homozygosity at the lyp locus, which causes lymphopenia. All genetic analyses of BB rat diabetes to date have backcrossed to the DP-BB strain or used (DP-BB x non-BB)F2 animals to ensure that a fraction of progeny are homozygous for lyp. Here we report the analysis of a backcross of the DP-BB rat to the histocompatible WF rat. Neither WF nor (WF x DP-BB)F1 animals develop spontaneous IDDM. However, 95% of (WF x DP-BB)F1 rats and a fraction of (WF x DP-BB) x WF backcross animals readily develop IDDM after treatment with polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid and a cytotoxic anti-RT6.1 monoclonal antibody. Using simple sequence length polymorphism analysis, we have mapped loci on chromosomes 4 and 13 that show significant linkage to IDDM expression and insulitis. The susceptibility locus on chromosome 4 is linked to, but not identical to, lyp. We propose a disease model for the BB rat that requires 1) the RT1u MHC haplotype for disease susceptibility, 2) a new locus on chromosome 4 for disease initiation (as measured by insulitis), 3) a new locus on chromosome 13 for disease progression in response to environmental perturbation, and 4) lyp for spontaneous expression of disease.  相似文献
