The deformation behavior of a Cr–Mn austenitic steel during interrupted low strain rate uniaxial tensile testing at ?80 °C has been studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron backscatter diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Continuous γ  ε  α′ martensite transformation was observed until failure. High dislocation densities were estimated in the austenite phase (~1015 m?2), and for the α′-martensite they were even an order of magnitude higher. Dislocation character analysis indicated that increasing deformation gradually changed the dislocation character in the austenite phase to edge type, whereas the dislocations in α′-martensite were predominantly screw type. XRD analyses also revealed significant densities of stacking faults and twins in austenite, which were also seen by transmission electron microscopy. At low strains, the deformation mode in austenite was found to be dislocation glide, with an increasing contribution from twinning, as evidenced by an increasing incidence of ∑3 boundaries at high strains. The deformation mode in α′-martensite was dominated by dislocation slip.  相似文献

In situ Al-TiC (5, 10 and 15 wt%) composites were produced by using a reaction mixture of K2TiF6 and graphite powder with molten metal. The effect of ceramic particulate addition on the high temperature sliding wear resistance of the composites was studied. The sliding wear tests were conducted at room temperature, 120 and 200 °C. The wear rate increases with the increase in applied load and decreases with increase in the weight percentage of TiC. Both monolithic and composites were able to withstand thermal softening effects due to the formation of oxidative protective transfer layer.  相似文献

This paper aims to determine the optimal capacitors required for maximum output power of a single-phase self-excited induction generator (SEIG), using a three-phase machine feeding inductive as well as capacitive loads. The generator consists of a three-phase star-connected induction machine with three capacitors and a single-phase load. The algorithm, which gives directly the values of the optimal capacitors for the maximum power output and the maximum power available, has been developed using the steady-state model of the SEIG and sequential unconstrained minimization technique (SUMT). The variations of the maximum power output with power factor (pf) of loads (both inductive and capacitive) and speed of the SEIG have been presented. The voltage regulation of the generator is small due to the effect of the two series capacitors. Experimental results have shown the effectiveness and accuracy of the developed algorithm.  相似文献

A comparative study of the effect of commonly used dietary spices on the pitting behavior of orthodontic bands made of AISI 304L was carried out using electrochemical experiments. Corrosion parameters were measured after immersing the steel for 24 h in artificial saliva containing spice extract. Cinnamon, cumin, red chili and turmeric caused pitting even in the absence of chloride ions. On adding NaCl, red chili, cinnamon and fenugreek caused severe pitting and coriander was found to inhibit pitting. Sluggish kinetics and catalyst instability in oxygen reduction reaction are the central issues in fuel cell and metal-air battery technologies. For that, highly active, stable, and low-cost non-platinum based electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction are an immediate requirement in fuel cell and metal-air battery technologies. A new composite (S,N-GQD/TiO2/C-800) is synthesized, made of sulfur (S) and nitrogen (N) co-doped graphene quantum dot (GQD) with TiO2. This composite is supported on carbon on heating at 800 °C under N2 atmosphere and is explored for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalyst. The synthesized composite S,N-GQD/TiO2/C-800, shows outstanding catalytic activity with an onset potential of 0.91 V and a half-wave potential of 0.82 V vs. RHE, an alkaline medium. The Tafel slope of the catalyst is 61 mV dec?1. The catalyst is an excellent methanol tolerant and shows good stability in an alkaline medium. The excellent ORR activity of S,N-GQD/TiO2/C-800 is ascribed to well-built interactivity between the S,N-GQD/TiO2, and the carbon support. The unique structure offers advantages, with outstanding electrical conductivity, high surface area, and excellent charge transfer kinetics between the doped GQD and TiO2 interface and subsequently from the carbon surface to the S,N-GQD/TiO2.  相似文献

This study explores the entropy generation analysis on unsteady nonlinear radiative ethylene glycol-based Casson nanofluid flow near stagnation point towards a stretching sheet through a porous medium. Analysis has been accomplished in the presence of an inclined magnetic field, heat generation, homogeneous–heterogeneous reactions, and viscous dissipation with velocity slip and convective boundary conditions. The nondimensional governing equations are solved by the shooting technique with the help of the RK45 method. We have experimented with copper and silver nanoparticles and a comparative analysis has been highlighted for both copper and silver nanofluids. Numerical outcomes are executed by the MATLAB built-in bvp4c function. The consequences of the experiment for various pertinent flow parameters are portrayed by graphs and tables for both the Ag- and Cu-Casson nanofluids. Results reveal that the enhancement of nanoparticles volume fraction accelerates temperature but it slows down concentration and velocity distributions. Higher values of the Eckert number boost velocity and temperature but reduce skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number. Enhancement of the Brinkman number boosts up entropy generation but it slows down Bejan's number. The results of the model can be applied in the movement of biological fluids, separation of biomolecules, glass manufacturing, paper production, food processing, crude oil purification, polymer drag reduction, and cooling atomic reactors.  相似文献

PURPOSE: To define the hepatic uptake mechanism of a plasmid DNA, we quantitated the uptake of pCAT (plasmid DNA encoding chloramphenicol acetyltransferase reporter gene fused to simian virus 40 promoter), a model plasmid, after a single pass through the perfused rat liver using albumin- and erythrocyte-free Krebs-Ringer bicarbonate buffer (pH 7.4). METHODS: [32P]pCAT was introduced momentarily into this system from the portal vein as a bolus input or constant infusion mode, and the outflow patterns and hepatic uptake were evaluated using statistical moment analysis. RESULTS: The venous outflow samples had electrophoretic bands similar to that of the standard pCAT, suggesting that the plasmid is fairly stable in the perfusate during liver perfusion. In bolus experiments, pCAT was largely taken up by the liver and the uptake was decreased with increase in injected dose. Statistical moment analysis against outflow patterns demonstrated that the apparent volume of distribution of pCAT was greater than that of human serum albumin, indicating a significant reversible interaction with the tissues. The results of collagenase perfusion experiments suggest that the hepatic accumulation of pCAT occurred preferentially in the nonparenchymal cells (NPC). The amount of total recovery in the liver decreased substantially by preceding administration of polyinosinic acid, dextran sulfate, succinylated bovine serum albumin, but not by polycytidylic acid. This suggests that pCAT is taken up by the liver via scavenger receptors for polyanions on the NPC. In constant infusion experiments, the presence of 2,4-dinitrophenol and NH4Cl caused a significant increase in the outflow concentration of [32P]pCAT and decrease by half in the total hepatic recovery than that of plasmid DNA administered alone, suggesting that plasmid DNA may undergo internalization by the NPC. CONCLUSIONS: The liver plays an important role in the elimination of plasmid DNA and a successful delivery system will be required to avoid its recognition by the scavenger receptors on the liver NPC.  相似文献

Stainless steels (SSs) having a stable and metastable austenitic phase were studied to see the influence of strain-induced phase transformation in the metastable austenitic stainless steel on the evolution of texture during cold rolling and aging. AISI 304L and 316L SS plates were unidirectionally cold rolled up to a 90 pct reduction and aged at different aging temperatures. The strain-induced transformation of austenite to α′-martensite phase and the evolution of texture in both the phases were studied as a function of rolling reduction as well as aging temperature in the metastable 304L austenitic stainless steel. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique was employed to quantify the volume fractions and characterize the texture of austenite and martensite phases in the rolled and aged conditions. Results are compared with the texture evolution in the stable austenitic 316L SS.  相似文献
