Perovskite light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) require small grain sizes to spatially confine charge carriers for efficient radiative recombination. As grain size decreases, passivation of surface defects becomes increasingly important. Additionally, polycrystalline perovskite films are highly brittle and mechanically fragile, limiting their practical applications in flexible electronics. In this work, the introduction of properly chosen bulky organo‐ammonium halide additives is shown to be able to improve both optoelectronic and mechanical properties of perovskites, yielding highly efficient, robust, and flexible perovskite LEDs with external quantum efficiency of up to 13% and no degradation after bending for 10 000 cycles at a radius of 2 mm. Furthermore, insight of the improvements regarding molecular structure, size, and polarity at the atomic level is obtained with first‐principles calculations, and design principles are provided to overcome trade‐offs between optoelectronic and mechanical properties, thus increasing the scope for future highly efficient, robust, and flexible perovskite electronic device development. 相似文献

We report a 72.8-GHz fully static frequency divider in AlInAs/InGaAs HBT IC technology. The CML divider operates with a 350-mV logic swing at less than 0-dBm input power up to a maximum clock rate of 63 GHz and requires 8.6 dBm of input power at the maximum clock rate of 72.8 GHz. Power dissipation per flip-flop is 55 mW with a 3.1-V power supply. To our knowledge, this is the highest frequency of operation for a static divider in any technology. The power-delay product of 94 fJ/gate is the lowest power-delay product for a circuit operating above 50 GHz in any technology. A low-power divider on the same substrate operates at 36 GHz with 6.9 mW of dissipated power per flip-flop with a 3.1-V supply. The power delay of 24 fJ/gate is, to our knowledge, the lowest power-delay product for a static divider operating above 30 GHz in any technology. A new approach to image retrieval is presented in the domain of museum and gallery image collections. Specialist algorithms, developed to address specific retrieval tasks, are combined with more conventional content and metadata retrieval approaches, and implemented within a distributed architecture to provide cross-collection searching and navigation in a seamless way. External systems can access the different collections using interoperability protocols and open standards, which were extended to accommodate content based as well as text based retrieval paradigms. After a brief overview of the complete system, we describe the novel design and evaluation of some of the specialist image analysis algorithms including a method for image retrieval based on sub-image queries, retrievals based on very low quality images and retrieval using canvas crack patterns. We show how effective retrieval results can be achieved by real end-users consisting of major museums and galleries, accessing the distributed but integrated digital collections. 相似文献

Linear spectral unmixing is a commonly accepted approach to mixed-pixel classification in hyperspectral imagery. This approach involves two steps. First, to find spectrally unique signatures of pure ground components, usually known as endmembers, and, second, to express mixed pixels as linear combinations of endmember materials. Over the past years, several algorithms have been developed for autonomous and supervised endmember extraction from hyperspectral data. Due to a lack of commonly accepted data and quantitative approaches to substantiate new algorithms, available methods have not been rigorously compared by using a unified scheme. In this paper, we present a comparative study of standard endmember extraction algorithms using a custom-designed quantitative and comparative framework that involves both the spectral and spatial information. The algorithms considered in this study represent substantially different design choices. A database formed by simulated and real hyperspectral data collected by the Airborne Visible and Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS) is used to investigate the impact of noise, mixture complexity, and use of radiance/reflectance data on algorithm performance. The results obtained indicate that endmember selection and subsequent mixed-pixel interpretation by a linear mixture model are more successful when methods combining spatial and spectral information are applied. 相似文献

Liquid crystals (LCs) can serve as sensitive reporters of interfacial events, and this property has been used for sensing of synthetic or biological toxins. Here it is demonstrated that LCs can distinguish distinct molecular motifs and exhibit a specific response to beta‐sheet structures. That property is used to detect the formation of highly toxic protofibrils involved in neurodegenerative diseases, where it is crucial to develop methods that probe the early‐stage aggregation of amyloidogenic peptides in the vicinity of biological membranes. In the proposed method, the amyloid fibrils formed at the lipid–decorated LC interface can change the orientation of LCs and form elongated and branched structures that are amplified by the mesogenic medium; however, nonamyloidogenic peptides form ellipsoidal domains of tilted LCs. Moreover, a theoretical and computational analysis is used to reveal the underlying structure of the LC, thereby providing a detailed molecular‐level view of the interactions and mechanisms responsible for such motifs. The corresponding signatures can be detected at nanomolar concentrations of peptide by polarized light microscopy and much earlier than the ones that can be identified by fluorescence‐based techniques. As such, it offers the potential for early diagnoses of neurodegenerative diseases and for facile testing of inhibitors of amyloid formation. 相似文献

Multifunctional electronic textiles (e‐textiles) incorporating miniaturized electronic devices will pave the way toward a new generation of wearable devices and human–machine interfaces. Unfortunately, the development of e‐textiles is subject to critical challenges, such as battery dependence, breathability, satisfactory washability, and compatibility with mass production techniques. This work describes a simple and cost‐effective method to transform conventional garments and textiles into waterproof, breathable, and antibacterial e‐textiles for self‐powered human–machine interfacing. Combining embroidery with the spray‐based deposition of fluoroalkylated organosilanes and highly networked nanoflakes, omniphobic triboelectric nanogenerators (RF‐TENGs) can be incorporated into any fiber‐based textile to power wearable devices using energy harvested from human motion. RF‐TENGs are thin, flexible, breathable (air permeability 90.5 mm s?1), inexpensive to fabricate (<0.04$ cm?2), and capable of producing a high power density (600 µW cm?2). E‐textiles based on RF‐TENGs repel water, stains, and bacterial growth, and show excellent stability under mechanical deformations and remarkable washing durability under standard machine‐washing tests. Moreover, e‐textiles based on RF‐TENGs are compatible with large‐scale production processes and exhibit high sensitivity to touch, enabling the cost‐effective manufacturing of wearable human–machine interfaces. 相似文献

In this work, an intensity modulation/frequency-shift keying (IM/FSK) orthogonal modulation scheme is achieved by direct modulation of a distributed feedback laser source using its adiabatic chirp characteristics. Optical frequencies for "1" and "0" bits are separated only 0.7 GHz, obtaining a narrow-FSK modulation and, accordingly, a low residual intensity modulation. Ethernet frames at 1.25 Gb/s (GbE) are transmitted with a label inserted using coded mark inversion codification at a 155-Mb/s rate. Error rates for the Ethernet payload and for the label have been measured for different payload extinction ratios, showing the viability of this scheme for distances up to 25 km. 相似文献

Auger electron spectroscopy of Hg1?x Cd x Te has been investigated for quantitative analysis. HgCdTe is known to be a very sensitive material which easily suffers from ion beam and electron beam interactions. Two methods were compared for accurate and reproducible quantification of the chemical composition. The first strategy was to reduce as much as possible the damage caused by surface preparation and the effect of the incident electron beam on the material. Quantification was then achieved by use of relative sensitivity factors estimated by use of calibration reference samples. This method was rejected because of unavoidable beam damage which resulted in different chemical changes for the reference CdTe and the HgCdTe sample of interest. The second strategy was to precisely control the experimental conditions to ensure reproducible degradation. Quantification was achieved by analysis of reference HgCdTe samples with different Cd composition. Successful quantification was achieved on stoichiometric material of composition of 0.2 < X Cd < 0.3 with a X Cd discrimination limit of ΔX Cd = 0.02 and an analysis step of 10 nm. 相似文献

The applications (and repair) of glass fiber reinforced epoxy composites are increasing in different industries (wind turbines, boats, chassis of buses, etc.) due to specific strength and low cost. Their major disadvantage is the difficulty to shape complex components. This problem can be solved manufacturing different parts, being adhesively bonded afterwards. This work studies the effect of atmospheric pressure plasma torch compared to grit-blasting to improve adhesion. After surface treating different parts, the changes of wettability and surface energy were measured. Treated samples were bonded with polyurethane and epoxy adhesives, and the quality of the bond was evaluated using pull-off adhesion tests and fracture strength test under cleavage loads. Obtained results allow to select the most adequate treatment in terms of mechanical requirements. 相似文献
