Various types of polymers containing tert‐butoxycarbonyl (BOC) moiety as the typical protecting group of functional moieties have been used for the design of stimuli‐responsive polymer materials. In this study, we investigated the heat‐responsive deprotection behavior of BOC‐containing polymers obtained by radical polymerization of 4‐(tert‐butoxycarbonyloxy)styrene (BSt) and copolymerizations of BSt with styrene and methyl acrylate. The deprotection of BOC groups accompanying the evolution of isobutene and carbon dioxide as gaseous products was monitored by thermogravimetric analyses at different temperature circumstances; that is, on heating at a rate of 10 °C/min and under isothermal conditions at various temperatures. The deprotection resulted in a significant decrease in the transmittance of visible light due to the formation of a large number of gas bubbles, that is, foaming, in the polymer films when a heating temperature was close to the glass transition temperature of the used polymer. The potential of BOC‐containing polymers was also evaluated as the heat‐responsive adhesive polymers for dismantlable adhesion. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Partitioning of organic substrates by thermoresponsive polymer having N‐acryloylaminoalcohol moieties in aqueous phase has been studied. Thermoresponsive polymers, such as poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) and poly(NIPAAm‐coN‐acryloyl‐(±)‐alaninol) (poly(NIPAAm‐co‐HIPAAm)), were found to concentrate several organic substrates into the hydrophobic field generated during their phase transition. The amount of the substrates recoverd from the polymer phase mainly depended on the hydrophobicity of the substrates. Aqueous solutions of PNIPAAm (lower critical solution temperature, LCST = 33°C) and poly(NIPAAm‐co‐HIPAAm) (LSCT = 41°C) containing 1‐phenylethanol showed LCSTs at 22°C and 33°C, respectively. The changes of LCSTs indicate that specific interactions such as hydrogen bonding between the side chain functionalities of the polymers and the substrates influence the phase transition behavior. Moreover, new optically active polymers having chiral aminoalcohol moieties have been synthesized by copolymerizations of NIPAAm with N‐acryloylaminoalcohols such as N‐acryloyl‐(S)‐alaninol and N‐acryloyl‐(S)‐prolinol. The (R)/(S) ratio of 1‐phenylethanol recovered from poly(NIPAAm‐coN‐acryloyl‐(S)‐alaninol) and poly(NIPAAm‐coN‐acryloyl‐(S)‐prolinol) were determined to be 75/25 and 68/32, respectively. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We developed tetranucleotide-repeat microsatellite markers for the masu salmon (Oncorhynchus masou) complex. 454 pyrosequencing was used to discover repeat motifs, and seven polymorphic microsatellite-primer sets were identified. The number of alleles detected at each locus ranged from four to 24 and the expected heterozygosity varied from 0.57 to 0.92. Cross-subspecies amplification for O. m. masou, O. m. ishikawae and O. m. subsp. was successful. These microsatellites can be utilized in studies of genetic structure, genetic diversity, and intra- and inter-subspecific hybridization, making a contribution to conservation and management of the Oncorhynchus masou complex.  相似文献

Compositional analysis of boron carbide on nanometer length scales to examine or interpret atomic mechanisms, for example, solid-state amorphization or grain-boundary segregation, is challenging. This work reviews advancements in high-resolution microanalysis to characterize multiple generations of boron carbide. First, ζ-factor microanalysis will be introduced as a powerful (scanning) transmission electron microscopy ((S)TEM) analytical framework to accurately characterize boron carbide. Three case studies involving the application of ζ-factor microanalysis will then be presented: (1) accurate stoichiometry determination of B-doped boron carbide using ζ-factor microanalysis and electron energy loss spectroscopy, (2) normalized quantification of silicon grain-boundary segregation in Si-doped boron carbide, and (3) calibration of a scanning electron microscope X-ray energy-dispersive spectroscopy (XEDS) system to measure compositional homogeneity differences of B/Si-doped arc-melted boron carbides in the as-melted and annealed conditions. Overall, the improvement and application of advanced analytical tools have helped better understand processing–microstructure–property relationships and successfully manufacture high-performance ceramics.  相似文献

Constituents of the fruit of Amomum tsao-ko were investigated following a preliminary screening of the antioxidant activity of several extracts of the fruit of this plant that showed that the dichloromethane extract and the ethyl acetatesoluble and water-soluble fractions of the 70% aqueous acetone extract had higher activity than α-tocopherol and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). Eleven compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate-soluble fraction, and their structures were elucidated as (+)-hannokinol (1), meso-hannokinol (2), (+)-epicatechin (3), (−)-catechin (4), β-sitosterol (5), β-sitosterol 3-O-glucoside (6), 2,6-dimethoxyphenol (7), protocatechualdehyde (8), protocatechuic acid (9), vanillic acid (10), and p-hydroxybenzoic acid (11) based on mass and various nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopic techniques. This is the first isolation of epicatechin and catechin from the genus Amomum. The radical scavenging activity of the isolated compounds was evaluated using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and colorimetric and electron spin resonance (ESR) analyses. The antioxidant activity of the compounds was also determined based on the oxidative stability index (OSI). The catechins and catechol derivatives showed strong activities in both the DPPH radical scavenging activity and antioxidant activity assays.  相似文献

Anadevidia peponis and Macdunnoughia confusa are defoliators of plants in the family Cucurbitaceae and Compositae, respectively, in Japan. GC-MS analyses of crude pheromone gland extracts treated with or without dimethyl disulfide indicated that females of A. peponis produced six monoene acetates and two monoene alcohols and that M. confusa females produced five monoene acetates. These components include (Z)-7-dodecenyl acetate as a major common constituent and three other acetates as minor common constituents. The minor constituents are quite different in blend composition. In addition, with (Z)-7-dodecenyl acetate, an indispensable component for male attraction is (Z)-5-decenyl acetate for A. peponis and (Z)-9-tetradecenyl acetate is essential for M. confusa. Field tests with synthetic lures showed synergistic effects of some other minor components and male attraction of three additional Plusiinae species, Macdunnoughia purissima, Ctenoplusia albostriata, and Chrysodeixis eriosoma, suggesting their reproductive isolation is based in part on pheromonal communication.  相似文献

Pt–Fe/mordenite (4 wt% Pt–0.5 wt% Fe) powder catalysts were wash-coated onto ceramic straight-channel monoliths by using silica- and/or alumina-sol as a binder, and were evaluated for the preferential oxidation of carbon monoxide (PROX) in a hydrogen-rich gas. In a synthetic reformate gas (1% CO, 1% O2, 5% H2O, 20% CO2, and balance H2), the CO concentration was reduced to less than 20 ppm at temperatures ranging from 100 to 130 °C. After a certain period of the PROX reaction, condensation of H2O in the pores of the mordenite-support occurred over the monolithic catalyst, which was wash-coated with alumina-sol, in the lower temperature range (100–120 °C), resulting in a rapid increase in CO concentration. The monolithic catalyst wash-coated with silica-sol, however, showed an excellent tolerance against H2O condensation and offered a stable catalytic performance, maintaining a CO concentration of ca. 20 ppm for 200 h. The H2O-tolerant characteristic was attributed to the relatively small adsorption amount of H2O over the silica-modified monolithic catalyst.  相似文献

The role of acetic acid added to the reaction media for the enantio-differentiating hydrogenation of methyl acetoacetate over a (R,R)-tartaric acid-in-situ-modified nickel catalyst was studied from the viewpoint of the hydrogenation rate during repeated runs. The hydrogenation of methyl acetoacetate on the “enantio-differentiating sites” of a tartaric acid-modified nickel catalyst was specifically accelerated by the acetic acid added to the reaction media to increase the enantio-differentiating ability of the catalyst. In order to increase the enantio-differentiating ability, the addition of acetic acid to the reaction media was required in each run during the repeated use of the catalyst.  相似文献

The sex pheromones of four Plusiinae species in the family Noctuidae, Ctenoplusia albostriata (CA), Macdunnoughia purissima (MP), Syngrapha ain (SA), and Diachrysia stenochrysis (DS) were identified by GC-EAD and GC-MS analyses. These were subsequently evaluated by a series of field trials in different ecological habitats. CA females produced (Z)-5-decenyl acetate (I), (Z)-7-dodecenyl acetate (II), and (Z)-7-dodecen-1-ol (III) in a ratio of 2:100:13. While the antennae of CA males responded to all three components, neither I nor III was essential to capture males. The MP females produced II, III, and (Z)-5-dodecenyl acetate (IV) in a ratio of 100:80:20, and this blend captured the most MP males. Compounds II and III were also identified from SA females, and mixtures ranging from 4:1 to 2:3 were equally attractive to males. DS females only produced one active compound, (Z)-7-decenyl acetate (V), and DS is the first Plusiinae species identified as using only the ω3-compound and none of ω5-compounds, such as II and III, which are common components of Plusiinae pheromones. Using previously published chemical and biosynthetic data, together with the finding from this study, we propose a classification of the Plusiinae sex pheromones.  相似文献
