Measurements on the energetic structure of the dissociative recombination rate coefficient in the millielectronvolt range are described for H3+ ions produced in the lowest rotational levels by collisional cooling and stored as a fast beam in the magnetic storage ring TSR (Test Storage Ring). The observed resonant structure is consistent with that found previously at the storage ring facility CRYRING in Stockholm, Sweden; theoretical predictions yield good agreement on the overall size of the rate coefficient, but do not reproduce the detailed structure. First studies on the nuclear spin symmetry influencing the lowest level populations show a small effect different from the theoretical predictions. Heating processes in the residual gas and by collisions with energetic electrons, as well as cooling owing to interaction with cold electrons, were observed in long-time storage experiments, using the low-energy dissociative recombination rate coefficient as a probe, and their consistency with the recent cold H3+ measurements is discussed. 相似文献

The value of crossbreeding in livestock species has been known for a long time; it has been used heavily within beef cattle, pig, and poultry production systems for several decades. This has not been the case for dairy production but lately there has been increased interest in crossbreeding dairy breeds. This review focuses on the practical and theoretical background of crossbreeding and describes the gain to be expected using systematic crossbreeding in dairy production. In Denmark, 24% of dairy farmers would consider starting crossbreeding programs within their herd. Evidence for the value of crossbreeding is documented with special emphasis on results from a Danish crossbreeding experiment. This experiment included 1,680 cows from 3 breeds and their crosses. In general, at least 10% heterosis can be expected for total merit, mainly due to increased longevity and improvement of functional traits. A minor part of heterosis for total merit is due to heterosis for production traits. For production, there is evidence of recombination loss using continued crossbreeding programs, which does not seem to be the case for longevity and total merit. However, recombination loss should be investigated more carefully as crossbreeding is becoming more popular. A prerequisite for crossbreeding to be beneficial on a long-term basis is that genetic gain within the parental breeds not be reduced. As long as the crossbred cow population constitutes less than 50% of the whole population, and young bulls can be tested through crossbred offspring, this prerequisite can be fulfilled. BACKGROUND: Rye is a whole‐grain cereal with the potential of contributing to a healthy diet, but research on rye in relation to chronic diseases is scarce compared to wheat and oats. In this study, a total of 17 hypercholesterolaemic pigs were fed high‐fat high‐cholesterol rye (n = 9) or wheat‐based buns (n = 8) with similar dietary fibre (DF) content for 9–10 weeks to study the effect on cardiovascular risk factors. RESULTS: Ingestion of rye bread resulted in a 40% lower plasma total and LDL cholesterol compared to the wheat group, whereas HDL cholesterol, insulin and glucose concentrations were not affected by dietary treatments. Intestinal viscosity was 7.2 times higher, and organic matter and fat digestibility significantly reduced in the pigs fed rye buns. The hepatic expression of the cholesterol 7α‐hydroxylase gene (CYP7A1) was lower in rye‐fed pigs, whereas four other key genes involved in cholesterol metabolism were not affected. Plasma cholesterol correlated inversely with intestinal viscosity and organic matter digestibility. CONCLUSION: The ability of DF from rye to interfere with digestion and absorption is more important for whole‐body cholesterol homeostasis than regulation in the liver at gene level. Nineteen samples of food in glass jars with twist closures were collected by the national food inspectors at Danish food producers and a few importers, focusing on fatty food, such as vegetables in oil, herring in dressing or pickle, soft spreadable cheese, cream, dressings, peanut butter, sauces and infant food. The composition of the plasticizers in the gaskets was analysed by gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC-FID) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Epoxidized soybean oil (ESBO) and phthalates were determined in the homogenized food samples. ESBO was the principal plasticizer in five of the gaskets; in 14 it was phthalates. ESBO was found in seven of the food samples at concentrations from 6 to 100 mg kg(-1). The highest levels (91-100 mg kg(-1)) were in oily foods such as garlic, chilli or olives in oil. Phthalates, i.e. di-iso-decylphthalate (DIDP) and di-iso-nonylphthalates (DINP), were found in seven samples at 6-173 mg kg(-1). The highest concentrations (99-173 mg kg(-1)) were in products of garlic and tomatoes in oil and in fatty food products such as sauce béarnaise and peanut butter. For five of the samples the overall migration from unused lids to the official fatty food simulant olive oil was determined and compared with the legal limit of 60 mg kg(-1). The stress–strain behaviour of the aluminium alloy 7075 in T651 temper is characterized by tension and compression tests. The material was delivered as rolled plates of thickness 20 mm. Quasi-static tension tests are carried out in three in-plane directions to characterize the plastic anisotropy of the material, while the quasi-static compression tests are done in the through-thickness direction. Dynamic tensile tests are performed in a split Hopkinson tension bar to evaluate the strain-rate sensitivity of the material. Notched tensile tests are conducted to study the influence of stress triaxiality on the ductility of the material. Based on the material tests, a thermoelastic–thermoviscoplastic constitutive model and a ductile fracture criterion are determined for AA7075-T651. Plate impact tests using 20 mm diameter, 197 g mass hardened steel projectiles with blunt and ogival nose shapes are carried out in a compressed gas-gun to reveal the alloy's resistance to ballistic impact, and both the ballistic limit velocities and the initial versus residual velocity curves are obtained. It is found that the alloy is rather brittle during impact, and severe fragmentation and delamination of the target in the impact zone are detected. All impact tests are analysed using the explicit solver of the non-linear finite element code LS-DYNA. Simulations are run with both axisymmetric and solid elements. The failure modes are seen to be reasonably well captured in the simulations, while some deviations occur between the numerical and experimental ballistic limit velocities. The latter is ascribed to the observed fragmentation and delamination of the target which are difficult to model accurately in the finite element simulations. 相似文献

The aim of the present study was to examine whether magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) based method for non-invasive in vivo measurement of vein blood flow in rats could be used to estimate renal blood flow (RBF). Measurements were performed using a high-field (7 Tesla) MRI scanner with a short echo time phase contrast velocity measurement pulse sequence. The method was evaluated in vitro by flow measurements in an acrylic pipe and in vivo by recording left renal vein blood flow in normal and unilaterally nephrectomized rats. In a subset of animals RBF was measured by a direct method using 14C-tetraethylammoniumbromide. In vitro a high accuracy was found between applied and MRI measured flow rates in the range from 0.5 to 33 ml/min (r = 0.997; P < 0.001). In vivo the MRI measured left renal vein blood flow was 70% higher in unilaterally nephrectomized animals compared to control animals (3.4 +/- 0.4 ml/min/ 100 g body wt vs. 2.0 +/- 0.1 ml/min/100 g body wt, P < 0.001). Direct measurements of RBF revealed comparable values (3.4 +/- 0.3 ml/min/100 g body wt vs. 2.3 +/- 0.4 ml/min/100 g body wt, P = 0.05). In addition, the left kidney volume was recorded by MRI with an increase amounting to 40% (1.18 +/- 0.05 ml vs. 0.84 +/- 0.02 ml; P < 0.001) in the nephrectomized group compared to controls. Finally, a positive correlation was seen between left renal vein blood flow and MRI measured renal volume (r = 0.91; P < 0.001). In summary, MRI is a non-invasive tool by which measurement of renal vein blood flow can be performed, and it is concluded that MRI-based renal vein flow measurements can be used to estimate RBF in small rodents. 相似文献

Theoretical and experimental studies of multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) radio channels are presented. A simple stochastic MIMO model channel has been developed. This model uses the correlation matrices at the mobile station (MS) and base station (BS) so that results of the numerous single-input/multiple-output studies that have been published in the literature can be used as input parameters. The model is simplified to the narrowband channels. The validation of the model is based upon data collected in both picocell and microcell environments. The stochastic model has also been used to investigate the capacity of MIMO radio channels, considering two different power allocation strategies, water filling and uniform and two different antenna topologies, 4/spl times/4 and 2/spl times/4. Space diversity used at both ends of the MIMO radio link is shown to be an efficient technique in picocell environments, achieving capacities within 14 b/s/Hz and 16 b/s/Hz in 80% of the cases for a 4/spl times/4 antenna configuration implementing water filling at a SNR of 20 dB. 相似文献
