Transconductance as high as 676 mS/mm at 300 K was observed to 0.7×10-μm2 n-channel devices (HIGFETs) made on epilayers with Al0.3Ga0.7As insulator thickness of 200 Å and In0.15Ga0.85As channel thickness of 150 Å. An FET K value (K =W g U ε/2aL g) as large as 10.6 mA/V 2 was also measured from another device with transconductance of 411 mS/mm. The high K values are achieved under normal FET operation without hole-injection or drain-avalanche breakdown effects. The CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer (CLAS) at Jefferson Lab utilizes six iron-free superconducting coils to provide an approximately toroidal magnetic field. The six sectors are instrumented individually to form six independent spectrometers. The forward region (8°<θ<45°) of each sector is equipped with a lead–scintillator electromagnetic sampling calorimeter (EC), 16 radiation lengths thick, using a novel triangular geometry with stereo readout. With its good energy and position resolution, the EC is used to provide the primary electron trigger for CLAS. It is also used to reject pions, reconstruct π° and η decays and detect neutrons. Using a set of different search metrics and a set of model landscapes we theoretically and empirically study how ldquooptimalrdquo mutation rates for the simple genetic algorithm (SGA) depend not only on the fitness landscape, but also on population size and population state. We discuss the limitations of current mutation rate heuristics, showing that any fixed mutation rate can be expected to be suboptimal in terms of balancing exploration and exploitation. We then develop a mutation rate heuristic that offers a better balance by assigning different mutation rates to different subpopulations. When the mutation rate is assigned through a ranking of the population, according to fitness for example, we call the resulting algorithm a Rank GA. We show how this Rank GA overcomes the limitations of other heuristics on a set of model problems showing under what circumstances it might be expected to outperform a SGA with any choice of mutation rate. 相似文献

Modular biocatalysis is responsible for the generation of countless bioactive products and its mining remains a major focus for drug discovery purposes. One of the enduring hurdles is the isolation of biosynthetic intermediates in a readily‐analysed form. We prepared a series of nonhydrolysable pantetheine and N‐acetyl cysteamine mimics of the natural (methyl)malonyl extender units recruited for polyketide formation. Using these analogues as competitive substrates, we were able to trap and off‐load diketide and triketide species directly from an in vitro reconstituted type I polyketide synthase, the 6‐deoxyerythronolide B synthase 3 (DEBS3). The putative intermediates, which were extracted in organic solvent and characterised by LC‐HR‐ESI‐MS, are the first of their kind and prove that small‐molecule chain terminators can be used as convenient probes of the biosynthetic process. 相似文献
