This brief note revisits the fully stressed design schemes and p-norm measures used in stress-based structural optimization. We propose a method for redesigning adaptive observers for nonlinear systems. The redesign uses an adaptive law that is based on delayed observers. This increases the computational burden, but gives significantly better parameter identification and robustness properties. In particular, given that a special persistency of excitation condition is satisfied, we prove uniform global asymptotic stability and semi-global exponential stability of the origin of the state and parameter estimation error, and give explicit lower bounds on the convergence rate of both the state and parameter estimation error dynamics. For initial conditions with a known upper bound, we prove tunable exponential convergence rate. To illustrate the use of the proposed method, we apply it to estimate the unmeasured flow rate and the uncertain friction parameters in a model of a managed pressure drilling system. The simulation results clearly show the improved performance of the redesigned adaptive observer compared to a traditional design.  相似文献

This paper presents recent advancement in and applications of TOUGH-FLAC, a simulator for multiphase fluid flow and geomechanics. The TOUGH-FLAC simulator links the TOUGH family multiphase fluid and heat transport codes with the commercial FLAC3D geomechanical simulator. The most significant new TOUGH-FLAC development in the past few years is a revised architecture, enabling a more rigorous and tight coupling procedure with improved computational efficiency. The applications presented in this paper are related to modeling of crustal deformations caused by deep underground fluid movements and pressure changes as a result of both industrial activities (the In Salah CO2 Storage Project and the Geysers Geothermal Field) and natural events (the 1960s Matsushiro Earthquake Swarm). Finally, the paper provides some perspectives on the future of TOUGH-FLAC in light of its applicability to practical problems and the need for high-performance computing capabilities for field-scale problems, such as industrial-scale CO2 storage and enhanced geothermal systems. It is concluded that despite some limitations to fully adapting a commercial code such as FLAC3D for some specialized research and computational needs, TOUGH-FLAC is likely to remain a pragmatic simulation approach, with an increasing number of users in both academia and industry.  相似文献

Histories of deliveries and development records of 44 newborns with penumopathies who had died on the first days of life in the presence of phenomena of the syndrome of respiratory disorder were analysed and the newborns' lungs were morphologically investigated. The investigation made it possible to single out the following forms of pneumopathy in newborns: edematous-hemorrhagic, hyaline, atelectatic, aspirated, and mixed. In the majority of cases the syndrome of respiratory disorder was a sequela of hypoxia of the intrauterine origin which continued during the first hours and days of life after birth. Such "primary asphyxia" may lead to the development of pneumopathy in a neonate. On the other hand, "secondary asphyxia" in many cases represent sequelae of penumopathy destructural and functional immaturity of the pulmonary tissue, hypoxia, a higher permeability of vessels of the microcirculatory bed, spasm of small pulmonary arteris contributed considerably to the development of penumopathies.  相似文献

Local instability in the form of “intra-cell buckling” or “dimpling” is a well-known failure mode in honeycomb-cored sandwich panels with very thin faces. Most work reported on the subject suggests relatively simple design formulae for the estimation of the intra-cell buckling load. It is however widely known that these classical design formulae in some cases considerably underpredict the intra-cell buckling load. In this paper a series of experimental results obtained for different CFRP/honeycomb sandwich panel configurations loaded in compression are presented. The results confirm that the “classical” design formulae provide overly conservative results. During the tests the intra-cell buckling patterns were monitored carefully, and it was observed that the hitherto assumed buckling patterns did not correspond to the experimental observations. Based on these findings a new simplified design formula is suggested, which for the investigated CFRP/honeycomb sandwich panels provides significantly more accurate predictions than the “classical” design formulae.  相似文献

Poor dynamics owing to polygon action is a known concern in mechanical applications of closed articulated chains. In this paper a kinematic model of the polygon action in large chains of loop-sorting-systems is proposed. Through optimization techniques the chain dynamics is improved by minimizing the polygon action using a parametric model of the track layout as design variables. Three formulations of the kinematic polygon action are tested on an average sized planer tracks layout to find a superior model. Verification of the proposed optimization method is performed using a state-of-the-art multi-body simulation model of the chain dynamics.  相似文献

Astolfi, Ortega, and Venkatraman (2010) recently proved the existence of a globally exponentially convergent speed observer for general Euler–Lagrange systems. Key to their result, is a function defined by certain integrals which cannot be solved a priori, and may not have explicit analytic solutions. In this paper, this obstacle to a constructive design is removed and equations that solve the speed observer problem are given in closed form. The design is further simplified by removing up to one third of the observer states used in Astolfi et al. (2010). With the significant reduction in complexity, the new observer is easily applied to estimate the angular velocities in a Furuta pendulum example.  相似文献
