F1F0-ATP synthases utilize protein conformational changes induced by a transmembrane proton gradient to synthesize ATP. The allosteric cooperativity of these multisubunit enzymes presumably requires numerous protein-protein interactions within the enzyme complex. To correlate known in vitro changes in subunit structure with in vivo allosteric interactions, we introduced the beta subunit of spinach chloroplast coupling factor 1 ATP into a bacterial F1 ATP synthase. A cloned atpB gene, encoding the complete chloroplast beta subunit, complemented a chromosomal deletion of the cognate uncD gene in Escherichia coli and was incorporated into a functional hybrid F1 ATP synthase. The cysteine residue at position 63 in chloroplast beta is known to be located at the interface between alpha and beta subunits and to be conformationally coupled, in vitro, to the nucleotide binding site > 40 A away. Enlarging the side chain of chloroplast coupling factor 1 beta residue 63 from Cys to Trp blocked ATP synthesis in vivo without significantly impairing ATPase activity or ADP binding in vitro. The in vivo coupling of nucleotide binding at catalytic sites to transmembrane proton movement may thus involve an interaction, via conformational changes, between the amino-terminal domains of the alpha and beta subunits.  相似文献

The transient voltages and currents induced by an external electromagnetic field along a microstrip line interconnecting active and/or passive components are studied by using a distributed-source transmission-line model. The influence of the angle of incidence as well as that of the microstrip geometrical and electrical parameters on the line response is analyzed. The instantaneous voltage and power induced on the loads by various types of pulse excitations are computed. Numerical results are obtained both for dispersive and nondispersive lines. A line feeding a transistor microwave amplifier is also considered. The results show the effects of the multiple reflections of the field inside the dielectric substrate and of the signal at the ends of the line. Indications of how to reduce the coupling between the external field and the considered structure are given  相似文献

We demonstrate a strategy for implementation a quantum full adder in a spin chain quantum computer. As an example, we simulate a quantum full adder in a chain containing 201 spins. Our simulations also demonstrate how one can minimize errors generated by non-resonant effects.  相似文献

The conventional application of reduction factors to response spectrum analysis results is inappropriate for the abutment shear forces, which are based on elastic action. On the other hand, adopting the unreduced values from the elastic dynamic analysis does not achieve equilibrium among the abutment shear forces, deck inertia forces, and reduced pier forces. A simplified method is here proposed for the assessment of the shear on the abutments, documented by comparison with response spectrum and time history nonlinear analyses for several bridge configurations. For the analyzed configuration of the bridge with an internal movement joint, the response spectrum analysis underestimates the shear on the abutment for low values of the abutment flexibility and overestimates it when the stiffness of the abutments becomes higher than that of the piers. In all the case studies analyzed, the proposed method approximates the time history results better than the response spectrum.  相似文献

The pattern synthesis techinque described allows the power pattern to be optimized in a very useful sense over the desired operating band of the antenna array. This is an improvement over previous techniques involving constraints on such artificial parameters as source norm and superdirectivity ratio, which do not, in fact, ensure a useful pattern bandwidth.
