The influence of ferrocene on the flammability and smoke generation behavior and thermal characteristics of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVC) was examined in order to understand the basis of ferrocene's activity as a flame-retardant and smoke-suppressant additive. Ferrocene increased char formation in PVC by 20–60% while increasing the limiting oxygen index (O.I.) by 15–19%. Little char was found either with or without ferrocene in PVA, which had little improvement in O.I. Visible smoke was significantly decreased by ferrocene in PVA and in PVC of low to moderate molecular weight, but was unchanged in high molecular weight PVC. O.I. of PVC appeared to vary with molecular weight of the polymer. Thermogravimetric analyses and thermal degradation experiments showed that ferrocene promotes early weight loss and crosslinking in PVC. This effect is coincidental with the formation of ferricenium cation, which was identified by its visible spectrum and which may be a possible catalyst. Smoke inhibition of PVA by ferrocene occurs predominantly through gas-phase processes, while in PVC evidence and analogy for activity in both the gas phase and condensed phase are found.  相似文献

A newly developed whisker K_2O 6TiO_2 reinforeed 6061Al composite was prepared bysqueeze casting process.The flexural strength of the composite is 518MPa,and deereasesto 490MPa after T6 treatment.The hardness of the composite also shows the similarchange while T6 treating.The results of HRTEMobservation may explaine this property.change.It was considered that there is a continuous TiO layer at the whisker-matrix inter-face,which is easily to react with the segregated Mg and to form MgTi_2O_4,MgAl_2O_4.Thethickening of TiO layer after T6 treatment is the main reason resulting is strength degra-dation of composite.  相似文献

An empirical analysis was performed to compare the effectiveness of different approaches to training a set of procedural skills to a sample of novice trainees. Sixty-five participants were randomly assigned to one of the following three training groups: (1) learning-by-doing in a 3D desktop virtual environment, (2) learning-by-observing a video (show-and-tell) explanation of the procedures, and (3) trial-and-error. In each group, participants were trained on two car service procedures. Participants were recalled to perform a procedure either 2 or 4 weeks after the training. The results showed that: (1) participants trained through the virtual approach of learning-by-doing performed both procedures significantly better (i.e. p < .05 in terms of errors and time) than people of non-virtual groups, (2) the virtual training group, after a period of non-use, were more effective than non-virtual training (i.e. p < .05) in their ability to recover their skills, (3) after a (simulated) long period from the training—i.e. up to 12 weeks—people who experienced 3D environments consistently performed better than people who received other kinds of training. The results also suggested that independently from the training group, trainees’ visuospatial abilities were a predictor of performance, at least for the complex service procedure, adj R 2 = .460, and that post-training performances of people trained through virtual learning-by-doing are not affected by learning styles. Finally, a strong relationship (p < .001, R 2 = .441) was identified between usability and trust in the use of the virtual training tool—i.e. the more the system was perceived as usable, the more it was perceived as trustable to acquire the competences.  相似文献

This paper presents a driver simulator, which takes into account the information about the user’s state of mind (level of attention, fatigue state, stress state). The user’s state of mind analysis is based on video data and biological signals. Facial movements such as eyes blinking, yawning, head rotations, etc., are detected on video data: they are used in order to evaluate the fatigue and the attention level of the driver. The user’s electrocardiogram and galvanic skin response are recorded and analyzed in order to evaluate the stress level of the driver. A driver simulator software is modified so that the system is able to appropriately react to these critical situations of fatigue and stress: some audio and visual messages are sent to the driver, wheel vibrations are generated and the driver is supposed to react to the alert messages. A multi-threaded system is proposed to support multi-messages sent by the different modalities. Strategies for data fusion and fission are also provided. Some of these components are integrated within the first prototype of OpenInterface: the multimodal similar platform.  相似文献

In this survey research a comparison was made between symptoms used by mothers and nurses which led them to think the baby might be "colicky." Two questionnaires, one for mothers and one for nurses, were used to collect the data. The mothers most frequently selected passes gas rectally, clenches fists, draws-up legs, cries late afternoon and evening, holds body straight, and wants to be held. The nurses selected mother states baby is inconsolable, cries more than 4 hours in 24, draws up legs and wants to feed but won't. Parents believed the colic to be related to a variety of factors; these included baby's eating behaviour, maternal anxiety, baby's and mother's diets, and baby's stress. Ten parents reported pain and screaming as symptoms of colic.  相似文献

Integral and membrane-associated proteins extracted from neuron-enriched perirhopalial tissue of the jellyfish Cyanea capillata were probed with a panel of lectins that recognize sugar epitopes of varying complexity. Of the 13 lectins tested, only concanavalin A, jacalin lectin and tomato lectin stained distinct bands on Western blots, indicating the presence of repeating alpha-1,6-mannoses, terminal Gal-alpha-1,6-GalNAc and repeating beta-1,4-linked GlcNAc, respectively. In whole-mounted perirhopalial tissue, jacalin lectin stained several cell types, including neurons, muscle, cilia and mucus strands. Tomato lectin stained secretory cells intensely, and neurons in a punctate fashion. Concanavalin A stained cytoplasmic epitopes in both ecto- and endodermal cells, and ectodermal secretory cells and the mucus strands emanating from them. With the exception of tomato lectin's sugar epitope, the other sugar epitopes identified in this study are "non-complex". This study suggests that while glycosylation of integral and membrane-associated proteins occurs in Cyanea, the sugars post-translationally linked to these proteins tend to be simple.  相似文献

C5a is a 74-amino-acid glycoprotein whose receptor is a member of the rhodopsin superfamily. While antagonists have been generated to many of these receptors, similar efforts directed at family members whose natural ligands are proteins have met with little success. The recent development of hexapeptide analogs of C5a has allowed us to begin elucidation of the molecular events that lead to activation by combining a structure/activity study of the ligand with receptor mutagenesis. Removal of the hexapeptide's C-terminal arginine reduces affinity by 100-fold and eliminates the ability of the ligand to activate the receptor. Both the guanidino side chain and the free carboxyl of the arginine participate in the interaction. The guanidino group makes the energy-yielding contact with the receptor, while the free carboxylate negates "electrostatic" interference with Arg-206 of the receptor. It is the apparent movement Arg-206 induced by this set of interactions that is responsible for activation, since conversion of Arg-206 to alanine eliminates the agonist activity of the hexapeptides. Surprisingly, activation is a nearly energy-neutral event and may reflect the binding process rather than the final resting site of the ligand.  相似文献

This study investigates Chinese consumers’ adoption of the innovative 3D printing systems for small-scale manufacturing in home settings. Empirical studies were conducted in a survey with 256 participants. The number of significant determinants that affect an individual’s decision to adopt 3D printing systems has been identified by applying a model that integrates the Technology Acceptance Model and Innovation Diffusion Theory. A number of moderation effects of demographic variables (e.g. gender, design background) on the association between motivational variables and participants’ adoption have also been analysed with factor analysis, structural equation modelling and hierarchical regression. Our results shed some light on the characteristics of early adopters of home 3D printing systems in China. This study contributes to the early understanding of Chinese consumers’ adoption of innovative 3D printing systems.  相似文献

Aging and the progression of certain degenerative diseases are accompanied by increases in intracellular fluorescent material, termed "lipofuscin" and ceroid, respectively. These pigments are observed within granules composed, in part, of damaged protein and lipid. Modification of various biomolecules by aldehyde products of lipid peroxidation is believed to contribute to lipofuscin and ceroid formation. However, little direct evidence currently exists because the structures responsible for the fluorescent, cross-linked nature of this material are not well characterized. In this study, we have identified a fluorescent product formed in the reaction of Nalpha-acetyllysine and 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (HNE), a major product of lipid peroxidation and the most reactive of these compounds under physiological conditions [Esterbauer, H., Shaur, R. J. & Zollner, H. (1991) Free Radical Biol. Med. 11, 81-128]. This fluorescent compound, characterized as a 2-hydroxy-3-imino-1,2-dihydropyrrol derivative, appears to form upon oxidative cyclization of the nonfluorescent 2:1 lysine-HNE Michael adduct-Schiff base cross-link. Polyclonal antibody was raised to the Nalpha-acetyllysine-HNE fluorophore and found to be highly specific to the chromophore structure of the compound. This antibody has been used to conclusively demonstrate that the lysine-HNE derivative of this fluorophore forms on protein upon exposure to HNE. The results of this study therefore provide the basis for future investigations on the contribution(s) of HNE-derived fluorophore formation to lipofuscin and ceroid accumulation.  相似文献
