Real-time global illumination in VR systems enhances scene realism by incorporating soft shadows, reflections of objects in the scene, and color bleeding. The Virtual Light Field (VLF) method enables real-time global illumination rendering in VR. Hybrid systems are heterogeneous systems characterised by the interaction of discrete and continuous dynamics. We present a trajectory-based algebraic model for describing hybrid systems; the trajectories used are closely related to streams. The algebra is based on left quantales and left semirings and provides a new application for these algebraic structures. We show that hybrid automata, which are probably the standard tool for describing hybrid systems, can conveniently be embedded into our algebra. Moreover we point out some important advantages of the algebraic approach. In particular, we show how to handle Zeno effects, which are excluded by most other authors. The development of the theory is illustrated by a running example and a larger case study.  相似文献

We show on a case study from an autonomous aerospace context how to apply a game-based model-checking approach as a powerful technique for the verification, diagnosis, and adaptation of system behaviors based on temporal properties. This work is part of our contribution within the SHADOWS project, where we provide a number of enabling technologies for model-driven self-healing. We propose here to use GEAR, a game-based model checker, as a user-friendly tool that can offer automatic proofs of critical properties of such systems. Although it is a model checker for the full modal μ-calculus, it also supports derived, more user-oriented logics. With GEAR, designers and engineers can interactively investigate automatically generated winning strategies for the games, by this way exploring the connection between the property, the system, and the proof. The high-resolution X-ray structures of the deoxy forms of four recombinant hemoglobins in which Trp37(C3)beta is replaced with Tyr (betaW37Y), Ala (betaW37A), Glu (betaW37E), or Gly (betaW37G) have been refined and analyzed with superposition methods that partition mutation-induced perturbations into quaternary structure changes and tertiary structure changes. In addition, a new cross-validation statistic that is sensitive to local changes in structure (a "local Rfree" parameter) was used as an objective measure of the significance of the tertiary structure changes. No significant mutation-induced changes in tertiary structure are detected at the mutation site itself for any of the four mutants studied. Instead, disruption of the intersubunit contacts associated with Trp37(C3)beta results in (1) a change in quaternary structure at the alpha1beta2 interface, (2) alpha subunit tertiary structure changes that are centered at Asp94(G1)alpha-Pro95(G2)alpha, (3) beta subunit tertiary structure changes that are located between residues Asp99(G1)beta and Asn102(G4)beta, (4) increased mobility of the alpha subunit COOH-terminal dipeptide, and (5) shortening of the Fe-Nepsilon2His(F8) bond in the alpha and beta subunits of the betaW37G and betaW37E mutants. In each case, the magnitude of the change in a particular structural parameter increases in the order betaW37Y < betaW37A < betaW37E approximately betaW37G, which corresponds closely to the degree of functional disruption documented in the preceding papers.  相似文献

PURPOSE: We report an investigation into the distribution of proteoglycans (PGs) in normal, organ-cultured and dextran-treated human corneas. METHODS: Immunogold labeling was carried out at the electron microscope level to localize keratan sulphate (KS), chondroitin sulphate (CS), and heparan sulphate (HS) PGs. RESULTS: High levels of labeling for CS was found in the epithelium, endothelium, and keratocytes, with light labelling present in the basement membranes and the corneal stroma. Labeling for HS was present in the epithelium, endothelium, and keratocytes, with intense labeling present at the endothelium/Descemet's membrane interface and the epithelium/Bowman's layer interface. Large filaments were also observed in these regions in cuprolinic blue-stained specimens. Keratan sulphate was present at high levels in the stroma and the basement membranes with low levels present within the keratocytes, epithelium, and endothelium. The pattern of KS labeling along the collagen fibrils in the stroma sometimes showed evidence of periodicity. Organ-cultured corneas had extensive collagen-free "lakes," the interior of which immunolabeled positively for KS and showed staining with cuprolinic blue. The lakes were greatly reduced in the dextran-treated samples. CONCLUSION: This investigation determined the ultrastructural distribution of KS, CS, and HS PGs in human cornea and showed that organ culture is associated with a change in distribution of stromal PGs.  相似文献

We show from muon spin relaxation (SR) studies on mercury HTS superconductors that a 50-fold increase in irreversibility field obtained by partial substitution of Re for Hg is due to metallisation of the Hg/Re layer. Induced superconductivity on this metallic layer doubles the overall superfluid density. This suggests a new approach to the design of high performance HTS materials: metallising one of the non-CuO2 interlayers and thereby greatly enhancing the superconducting properties.  相似文献
