Boundary of generalized synchronization in two unidirectionally coupled tunnel diode generators

The boundary of generalized synchronization regimes in a system of two unidirectionally coupled oscillators based on tunnel diodes has been studied. Peculiarities in the behavior of the boundary are found in the region of relatively large detunings between eigenfrequencies of the two subsystems. The character of this behavior and physical mechanisms leading to the onset of generalized synchronization regimes in the system are explained based on the analysis of evolution of the spectrum of oscillations in the response subsystem.     

Effect of deformation properties of discontinuities on intensity of induced seismicity sources in rocks. Part II: laboratory and numerical experiments

Variations in strength and stress state of rocks fail to explain the difference observed in efficiency of seismic radiation from separate sources within the limits of the same mine field. The laboratory and numerical experiments show that insignificant variation in ultimate strength of a fracture and, thus, different shear fracture stiffness results in radical change in the seismic event efficiency. The experimentally obtained relations between the key parameters should be taken into account in geomechanical modeling of large-scale objects.     

Pt(IV) Prodrugs with NSAIDs as Axial Ligands

A chemo-anti-inflammatory strategy is of interest for the treatment of aggressive cancers. The platinum (IV) prodrug with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) as axial ligands is designed to efficiently enter tumor cells due to high lipophilicity and release the cytotoxic metabolite and NSAID intracellularly, thereby reducing side effects and increasing the therapeutic efficacy of platinum chemotherapy. Over the last 7 years, a number of publications have been devoted to the design of such Pt(IV) prodrugs in combination with anti-inflammatory chemotherapy, with high therapeutic efficacy in vitro and In vivo. In this review, we summarize the studies devoted to the development of Pt(IV) prodrugs with NSAIDs as axial ligands, the study of the mechanism of their cytotoxic action and anti-inflammatory activity, the structure–activity ratio, and therapeutic efficacy.     

Assessment of stress state in rocks by deformation characteristic of borehole zone with hydrofracture

The authors propose the method of stress state assessment in permeable rocks. The method is numerically studied as the relationship between cross-section area of borehole length interval with a hydrofracture and the loading pressure on the borehole walls. The test data processing algorithm and the practical application of the method are considered.     

Ionic current pulses upon field desorption of cesium from graphene on iridium

Pulses of Cs⁺ ion current upon field desorption in constant electric field from an iridium point coated with a graphene film have been detected. Pulses with durations of less than 0.1 s were observed upon sputter deposition of cesium atoms onto graphene followed by their removal from the surface. During the pulse, one could observe a flash on the field desorption microscope display occupying all area of the images of {001} and {111} facets. Possible mechanisms of the flash formation using models of cesium intercalation in the graphene layer and the yield of cesium atoms from under the film under the action of the applied electric field of the electric field have been considered.
