Here we report synthesis and characterization of high quality samples of the superconducting system Mg1−x
Al
x
B2, with a novel optimized preparation method, in a wide range of Al concentration. All the physical properties of the samples
can be tuned continuously with increasing Al content. We have characterized the samples for their structural, morphological
and magnetic properties with high resolution XRD, SEM-EDS and susceptibility measurements. We have prepared a large number
of Al doped MgB2 in the range 0<x<0.57. All the samples are bulk superconductors and the critical temperature show a smooth and regular behavior as a function
of x.

This paper presents the design and measured performance of a 1.8-GHz power amplifier featuring load mismatch protection and soft-slope power control. Load-mismatch-induced breakdown can be avoided by attenuating the RF power to the final stage during overvoltage conditions. This was accomplished by means of a feedback control system, which detects the peak voltage at the output collector node and clamps its value to a given threshold by varying the circuit gain. The issue of output power control has been addressed as well. To this end, a temperature-compensated bias network is proposed, which allows a moderate power control slope (dB/V) to be achieved by varying the circuit quiescent current according to an exponential law. The nonlinear power amplifier was fabricated using a low-cost silicon bipolar process with a 6.4-V breakdown voltage. It delivers a 33.5-dBm saturated output power with 46% maximum power-added efficiency and 36-dB gain at a nominal 3.5-V supply voltage. The device is able to tolerate a 10:1 load standing-wave ratio up to a 5.1-V supply voltage. Power control slope is lower than 80 dB/V between -15 dBm and the saturated output power level. 相似文献

In this paper, a design methodology for the optimization of transformer-loaded RF circuits is presented. The optimization procedure is based on a novel figure of merit for the integrated transformer (namely the transformer characteristic resistance), which was introduced to quantify its performance when operated as a tuned load. Using the proposed approach, a highly linear up-converter for 5-GHz wireless LAN applications was implemented in a 45-GHz-f/sub T/ SiGe HBT technology. The circuit achieved an output 1-dB compression point of 4.5 dBm and a power gain of 18 dB, while drawing only 34 mA from a 3-V power supply. 相似文献

The interstitial oxygen ordering in a La2CuO4+ y (y = 0.08) single crystal with a T c = 38 K has been investigated. We have studied the growth dynamics of the three dimensional (3D) ordered phase, called Q2, at different temperatures under X-ray illumination. The critical temperature T 0~334 K of the order-disorder transition for the Q2 phase has been determined. We have found that the illumination of the sample with a continuous polarized synchrotron radiation X-ray flux stimulates the oxygen ordering kinetics. The photoinduced ordering process shows a threshold characteristic of cooperative phenomena and its kinetics shows a temperature dependence that is controlled by the activation energy E A = 100 meV. 相似文献

The thermal lattice expansion in the superconducting Mg1? x Al x B2 system (x = 0, 0.13, and 0.59) has been measured using high-resolution X-ray powder diffraction. An unusual large negative thermal expansion (NTE) appears for temperatures below T * = 60 K in the MgB2. The NTE effect increases in Mg0.87Al0.13B2 and disappears at high Al content in the Mg0.59Al0.41B2 where the temperature dependence of volume follows a standard Einstein model in the whole temperature range. The anomalous behavior of the thermal expansion provides a direct evidence in the physics of diborides for the relevance of the proximity to the 2.5 Lifshitz electronic topological transition where the Fermi surface of the σband changes from a two-dimensional (2D) to a three-dimensional (3D) topology. 相似文献

Hydrogen energy applications often require that systems are used indoors (e.g., industrial trucks for materials handling in a warehouse facility, fuel cells located in a room, or hydrogen stored and distributed from a gas cabinet). It may also be necessary or desirable to locate some hydrogen system components/equipment inside indoor or outdoor enclosures for security or safety reasons, to isolate them from the end-user and the public, or from weather conditions.Using of hydrogen in confined environments requires detailed assessments of hazards and associated risks, including potential risk prevention and mitigation features. The release of hydrogen can potentially lead to the accumulation of hydrogen and the formation of a flammable hydrogen-air mixture, or can result in jet-fires. Within Hyindoor European Project, carried out for the EU Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking safety design guidelines and engineering tools have been developed to prevent and mitigate hazardous consequences of hydrogen release in confined environments. Three main areas are considered: Hydrogen release conditions and accumulation, vented deflagrations, jet fires and including under-ventilated flame regimes (e.g., extinguishment or oscillating flames and steady burns). Fibrosis is the strongest predictor for disease-specific mortality in non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD), but the need for liver biopsy limits its diagnosis. We assessed the performance of plasma ficolin-2 (FCN-2) as a biomarker of fibrosis identified by an in silico discovery strategy. Two hundred and thirty-five morbidly obese (MO) subjects with biopsy-proven NAFLD stratified by fibrosis stage (F0, n = 44; F1, n = 134; F2, n = 46; F3/F4, n = 11) and 40 cirrhotic patients were enrolled. The cohort was subdivided into discovery (n = 76) and validation groups (n = 159). The plasma level of FCN-2 and other candidate markers was determined. FCN-2 was inversely correlated with the stage of liver fibrosis (ρ = −0.49, p < 0.001) independently of steatosis (p = 0.90), inflammation (p = 0.57), and ballooning (p = 0.59). In the global cohort, FCN-2 level decreased significantly in a stepwise fashion from F0/F1 (median 4753 ng/mL) to F2–F3–F4 (2760 ng/mL) and in cirrhotic subjects (1418 ng/mL). The diagnostic performance of FCN-2 in detecting F ≥ 2 was higher than other indexes (APRI, FIB-4) (AUROC 0.82, 0.68, and 0.6, respectively). The accuracy improved when combined with APRI score and HDL values (FCNscore, AUROC 0.85). Overall, the FCN-2 plasma level can accurately discriminate liver fibrosis status (minimal vs. moderate/advanced) significantly improving the fibrosis diagnostic algorithms. 相似文献
