This article considers the design of interval functional observers to estimate a linear function of the state vector of time-delay systems subject to both input and output additive disturbances. Two novel functional observers are proposed and designed such that they bound the set of all admissible values of a linear function of the state vector at each instant of time. By contrast to interval observers currently available in the literature, both observers proposed in this article utilize multiple delayed output measurement and have a more general structure. This trade-off feature overcomes some drawbacks in previous work and enables interval functional observers to be designed for a wider class of time-delay systems. Conditions for the existence of interval functional observers are derived and an effective design algorithm for computing unknown observer matrices is provided. Two illustrative examples are given to show the advantages and effectiveness of our design method.  相似文献

The charge photogeneration and recombination processes in organic photovoltaic solar cells based on blend of the low bandgap copolymer, PTB7 (fluorinated poly‐thienothiophene‐benzodithiophene) with C60‐PCBM using optical, electrical, and magnetic measurements in thin films and devices is studied. A variety of steady state optical and magneto‐optical techniques were employed, such as photoinduced absorption (PA), magneto‐PA, doping‐induced absorption, and PA‐detected magnetic resonance (PADMR); as well as picosecond time‐resolved PA. The charge polarons and triplet exciton dynamics in films of pristine PTB7, PTB7/fullerene donor–acceptor (D–A) blend is followed. It is found that a major loss mechanism that limits the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of PTB7‐based solar cell devices is the “back reaction” that leads to triplet exciton formation in the polymer donor from the photogenerated charge‐transfer excitons at the D–A interfaces. A method of suppressing this “back reaction” by adding spin½ radicals Galvinoxyl to the D–A blend is presented; this enhances the cell PCE by ≈30%. The same method is not effective for cells based on PTB7/C70‐PCBM blend, where high PCE is reached even without Galvinoxyl radical additives.  相似文献

Over the last few decades, many efforts have been invested in improving the economic performances of maintenance policies for stochastically deteriorating production systems. However, with the development of complex production systems, maintenance managers are interested not only in cost saving, but also in how to trustworthily plan and allocate the required maintenance budget. In this context, the robustness of maintenance policies which is related to the maintenance cost variability from a renewal cycle to another plays a pivotal role. This research deals with a quantitative approach to jointly assess the economic performance and robustness of some representatives of two most well-known classes of maintenance policies: time-based and condition-based maintenance. To this end, we first propose a new cost criterion which combines the long-run expected cost rate and standard deviation of maintenance cost per renewal cycle. Then, we develop and compare the associated mathematical cost models of the considered maintenance policies on the basis of the Gamma degradation process and the theory of stochastic renewal processes. The comparison results under different situations of maintenance costs and system characteristics show that the optimal configuration of maintenance policies gives the best compromise between the performance and robustness, and is mostly affected by the system downtime. Under this aspect, the condition-based maintenance remains more profitable than the time-based maintenance. Still, maintenance managers could implement condition-based maintenance policies that efficiently control the downtime to maximise the maintenance effectiveness of production systems from both performance and robustness viewpoints.  相似文献

A new electrode configuration for microchip capillary electrophoresis (CE) with electrochemical (EC) detection is described. This approach makes it possible to place the working electrode directly in the separation channel. The "in-channel" EC detection was accomplished without the use of a decoupler through the utilization of a specially designed, electrically isolated potentiostat. The effect of the working electrode position on the separation performance (in terms of plate height and peak skew) of poly(dimethylsiloxane)-based microchip CEEC devices was evaluated by comparing the more commonly used end-channel configuration with this new in-channel approach. Using catechol as the test analyte, it was found that in-channel EC detection decreased the total plate height by a factor of 4.6 and lowered the peak skew by a factor of 1.3. A similar trend was observed for the small, inorganic ion nitrite. Furthermore, a fluorescent and electrochemically active amino acid derivative was used to directly compare the separation performance of in-channel EC detection to that of a widely used laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) detection scheme. In this case, it was found that the plate height and peak skew for both detection schemes were essentially equal, and the separation performance of in-channel EC detection is comparable to LIF detection.  相似文献

Projection of polyhedral sets is a fundamental operation in both geometry and symbolic computation. In most cases, however, it is not practically feasible to generate projections as the size of the output can be exponential in the size of the input. Even when the size of the output is manageable, we still face two serious problems: overwhelming redundancy and degeneracy. Here, we address these problems from a practical point of view. We discuss three algorithms based on algebraic and geometric techniques and we compare their performance in order to assess the feasibility of these approaches.  相似文献

Development of a vertebral endplate 3-D reconstruction technique   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The increase of low back problems has stimulated the development of different analysis and evaluation techniques. Among these methods, the direct linear transformation (DLT) technique is commonly used to reconstruct the spine in three dimensions by means of its known image coordinates on radiographs. Despite its efficiency and precision, general reconstruction of some standard anatomical landmarks does not give all the necessary data for a detailed analysis of the intrinsic geometrical characteristics of lumbar vertebrae. Thus, in order to obtain such geometrical information a three-dimensional (3-D) reconstruction vertebral endplate contour technique has been developed. This technique involves: (1) iterative optimization and reconstruction processes of the vertebral endplate centroid; and (2) 3-D reconstruction of vertebral endplate contour. Validation based on mathematical simulations demonstrated that two or three iterations are necessary to correct (within 2 mm) the endplate centroid position for simulated error higher than 10 mm. Other validations based on 3-D reconstructions of a chamfered tube and a dry vertebra contours of known dimensions have given mean errors of 2 mm. Application on a healthy subject demonstrated the potential of this 3-D reconstruction technique. Finally, 3-D data obtained on vertebral endplates would allow the development of new clinical measurements that could be used to evaluate the lumbar spine geometrical behavior and orthoses biomechanical effects  相似文献

Although the selective excitatory amino acid transporter subtype 1 (EAAT1) inhibitor UCPH‐101 has become a standard pharmacological tool compound for in vitro and ex vivo studies in the EAAT research field, its inability to penetrate the blood–brain barrier makes it unsuitable for in vivo studies. In the present study, per os (p.o.) administration (40 mg kg?1) of the closely related analogue UCPH‐102 in rats yielded respective plasma and brain concentrations of 10.5 and 6.67 μm after 1 h. Three analogue series were designed and synthesized to improve the bioavailability profile of UCPH‐102, but none displayed substantially improved properties in this respect. In vitro profiling of UCPH‐102 (10 μm ) at 51 central nervous system targets in radioligand binding assays strongly suggests that the compound is completely selective for EAAT1. Finally, in a rodent locomotor model, p.o. administration of UCPH‐102 (20 mg kg?1) did not induce acute effects or any visible changes in behavior.  相似文献
