As an extension of a previous investigation on the wear behaviour of Ca α-sialon ceramics of differing microstructures at room temperature, wear testing was conducted at 600 °C in air to explore the effects of microstructure, contact pressure and sliding speed on the wear behaviour. Under all loading conditions from 1 MPa to 1 GPa, a constant high friction coefficient was observed and a severe wear process was dominant, in which the sliding contact induced cracks were observed in different microstructures. Wear particles were generated along the wear track, but no tribofilm was detected. Increasing the sliding speed from 10 to 23 cm/s was found to significantly increase wear rate. However, variations in microstructure had little impact. That is, large elongated-grained α-sialon exhibited only a slightly lower wear rate than fine equiaxed-grained α-sialon. 相似文献

An adaptable die is one that not only produces the correct geometrical shape, but also is designed through an adaptable method to impart other desirable properties to the product or process. In this first part of a series of papers, six kinematically admissible velocity fields are developed for use in upper bound models for axisymmetric extrusion through various dies, including extrusion through adaptable dies. Three base velocity fields are presented:
- (1) assuming proportional angles in the deformation zone,
- (2) assuming proportional areas in the deformation zone, or
- (3) assuming proportional distances from the centerline in the deformation zone.

An advanced x-ray imaging crystal spectrometer (XICS) for KSTAR tokamak has been developed by utilizing a segmented two dimensional (2D) position-sensitive multiwire proportional counter. The XICS for the KSTAR tokamak provides time-resolved measurements of the radial ion and electron temperature profiles, toroidal plasma rotation velocity, and ionization equilibrium. The segmented 2D detector with delay-line readout and supporting electronics has been adopted to improve the photon count rate capability. The current fabrication status of the XICS for the KSTAR tokamak and the first performance test results of the prototype segmented 2D detector are presented. 相似文献

Nanoporous polyimide films were prepared from triblock copolyimides. A thermally labile polymer, poly(propylene glycol), was incorporated into polyimides based on 4,4-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride to obtain triblock copolyimides. Nanofoams were formed by thermolysis of the labile block. The thermal properties of the copolymers were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). We have developed a low cost and a highly compact bio-chip detection technology by modifying a commercially available optical pick-up head for CD/DVD. The highly parallel and miniaturized hybridization assays are addressed by the fluorescence emitted by the DNA-chip using the optical pick-up head. The gap between the objective lens and the bio-chip is regulated by the focus servo during the detection of the fluorescence signal. High-resolution and high-speed scanning is effectively realized by this simple scanning system instead of utilizing high-precision mechanism. Regardless of achievement of effective detection mechanism, the technique of fluorescence detection can prove to be disadvantageous because of the low stability of the dyes with low S/N ratio and an expensive setup such as a PMT detector is always required for fluorescence detection. We propose, for the first time, a novel scanning scheme based on metal nanoparticles in combination with a bio-chip substrate having a phase change recording layer. We found that the phase change process is highly affected by the existence of the densely condensed metal nanoparticles on the phase change layer during the writing process of the pick-up head. 相似文献

We applied a rigid-viscoplastic finite element method to investigate polygonal-shaped defects that occur during ring rolling and developed an improved analysis model with relatively fine finite elements near the roll gap to reduce the computational time, along with a scheme to minimize the volume change. We also simulated the formation of a polygonal-shaped defect during hot ring rolling of a ball bearing outer race. CO2 reforming of methane was studied over modified Ni/Al2O3 catalysts. The metal modifiers were Co, Cu, Zr, Mn, Mo, Ti, Ag and Sn. Relative to unmodified Ni/Al2O3, catalysts modified with Co, Cu and Zr showed slightly improved activity, while other promoters reduced the activity of CO2 reforming. Mn-promoted catalyst showed a remarkable reduction in coke deposition, while entailing only a small reduction
in catalytic activity compared to unmodified catalyst. The catalysts prepared at high calcination temperatures showed higher
activity than those prepared at low calcination temperature. The Mn-promoted catalyst showed very low coke deposition even
in the absence of diluent gas and the activity changed only slightly during 100 h operation.

An equilibrium study was conducted on the adsorption of chloropentafluoroethane (CFC-115, CF3CF2Cl) on activated carbon powder between 298.15 K and 373.15 K. Experimental data were fitted with several isotherm equations.
Among the twoparameter equations, the BET equation showed the best results over the entire relative pressure range studied.
When the pressure range was divided into two regions, a better result was obtained by applying the Langmuir equation in the
lower pressure range and the BET equation in the higher relative pressure region. Among the threeparameter equations, the
Langmuir-Freundlich equation gave better results than the RedrichPeterson equation. The isosteric heat of adsorption of CFC-115
on the activated carbon powder was estimated. It was found to have the same order of magnitude with the heat of condensation,

We utilized the first metathesis reaction to synthesize a new type of photorefractive polymers that contain both a carbazole
moiety as a hole transporter and NLO chromophores. These polymers have a long tail band at above 700 nm, indicating the formation of intramolecular charge transfer complexes between the carbazole groups and the conjugated double
bonds in the polymer backbone. Also, these polymers show two maximum values of photocurrent around 350 and 700 nm. The electro-optic coefficient (r
33) at the wavelength of 1.3 μm for polymer thin films poled around the 85°C were in the range of 1.6 ∼6.3 pm/V. The hyperpolarizabilities, <γ>, of the resulting polymers were ca. 2.9 × 10−32
esu. at the incident wavelength of 1.907 μm.

We studied a new lift-off process of thin Au film on silicon surfaces in nanometer-scale, combining anodic oxidation patterning with AFM, deposition of Au thin film on the patterned substrate and chemical etching processes of the Si oxide underneath the Au film. For Au films of thickness of 2-5 nm, the Au films on the Si oxide patterns were left unbroken and bent down to stick to Si surface after the removal of the oxide by the chemical etching. For an Au film of 1 nm in thickness, it was possible to lift-off the Au film on oxide patterns of the lines and dots in nanometer-scale using Si oxide as a sacrificial mask. 相似文献
