Significant differences exist between the quality characteristics of meat obtained from 27 sheep, Angora and Boer goat carcases, when compared. Sheep meat showed greater drip loss than goat meat and was more juicy than that of Angora and Boer goat meat. In general, Angora goat meat was found to be more juicy than Boer goat meat. Drip loss increased significantly with increased animal age. Meat of younger animals (no permanent incisors) was more juicy (initial and sustained) than that of older animals (7–8 permanent incisors). This was irrespective of whether it was obtained from sheep, Angora or Boer goats and was confirmed by the expressible moisture measurements. Higher drip, evaporation and total cooking loss were reported when carcases had increased fat content. With increasing fatness of carcases, the juiciness of the cooked cuts decreased and the expressible moisture content of the meat increased. 相似文献

This paper deals with the influence of the transient response and group delay of digital filters on the MRI signal and its aspects in image reconstruction. The consequence of digital filtration on the acquired signal will be shown in the time domain (κ-space) for three basic imaging methods-echo scan, radial scan and spiral scan. The influence of the group delay and transient response of filters will be explained and a method will be proposed which compensates both these phenomena while retaining all the advantages of digital filtration. The proposed method is based on applying the principle of signal superposition and on using the consequences of the sampling principle. The method works in the time domain. It is very simple and rapid and does not depend on the properties of the acquired signal or reconstruction algorithm. It will be shown and explained in which cases the transient response can be neglected and in which it has to be compensated. The authors address the problem of trellis coding on multidimensional signal space for incorporation into a 4D quadrature-quadrature phase-shift keying (Q2PSK) communication system. A low-complexity rate-½ hybrid block-convolutional coding scheme is proposed, to be utilised in a constant envelope (CE)Q2PSK system configuration. The encoder and decoder designs have been structured to facilitate simple implementation with standard components. A number of electromagnetic field problems for planar structures can be formulated in terms of a hypersingular integral equation, in which a grad-div operator acts on a vector potential. The vector potential is a convolution of the free-space Green's function and some surface current density over the domain of interest. A weak form of this integral equation is obtained by testing it with subdomain basis functions defined over the plate domain only. As a next step, the vector potential is expanded in a sequence of subdomain basis functions and the grad-div operator is integrated analytically over the plate domain only. An apparatus was developed for investigating the release rates of pheromone formulations at temperatures and air velocities that correspond with those in the field. Polyurethane foam proved an excellent adsorbent for the recovery of tetradecen-1-ol acetates, allowing high air flows at low differential pressure and without breakthrough of these compounds. The experimental setup and procedures are described. The release rates of all formulations investigated were almost proportional to the square root of air velocity, and their logarithms were proportional to the reciprocal of temperature (K). When temperature is increased from 15°C to 25°C, the release rates increase by about 2-2.5 ×. Both relationships were combined into one equation that allows a reliable estimate to be made of the actual release rates of a formulation, under varying conditions, on the basis of its specific parameters and the relevant meteorological data. 相似文献

In recent years, embedded memories are the fastest growing segment of system on chip. They therefore have a major impact on the overall Defect per Million (DPM). Further, the shrinking technologies and processes introduce new defects that cause previously unknown faults; such faults have to be understood and modeled in order to design appropriate test techniques that can reduce the DPM level. This paper discusses a new memory fault class, namely dynamic faults, based on industrial test results; it defines the concept of dynamic faults based on the fault primitive concept. It further shows the importance of dynamic faults for the new memory technologies and introduces a systematic way for modeling them. It concludes that current and future SRAM products need to consider testability for dynamic faults or leave substantial DPM on the table, and sets a direction for further research. 相似文献

Cross-coupled relaxation oscillators can produce two highly accurate quadrature output signals (Verhoeven, 1992). We present a high-level model of these oscillators in terms of circuit parameters, from which we obtain explicit equations for duty-cycle, oscillation frequency, and quadrature error. They show the influence on the oscillator performance of component mismatches and other nonideal effects, such as delays.
