Wall admittances for circular and annular ring microstrip antennas have been determined, including the effect of the substrate. The magnetic current model is used and the analysis is carried out in Hankel transform domain. The final expressions for wall admittances are obtained in integral form. The contributions of the surface wave to the wall conductances have been determined by evaluating the integrals near the singularity using the singularity extraction technique. The radiation conductance has been determined by simple integration. The value of wall susceptance, obtained in this paper, agrees well with Kirchhoff's equivalent extension formula. A closed form expression for wall susceptance for theTM_{1n}mode has been obtained by curve fitting the numerical values. The effect of the substrate on wall admittance has been found to be significant for higher order modes and is shown to explain the measured input impedance of an annular ring microstrip antenna.  相似文献

This review describes the development and pharmacology of clomiphene and those specific characteristics of both drug and patients which determine its clinical efficacy. The studies reviewed describe clinical observation of patient characteristics (age, additional infertility diagnosis, semen quality), vaginal ultrasound observations of ovaries (number and size of pre-ovulatory follicles) and endometrial lining (thickness, pattern) in 2841 clomiphene cycles in patients who required intrauterine insemination (IUI) because of poor sperm quality or an unsatisfactory postcoital test. They show that (i) conception in clomiphene cycles is related to the number and size of pre-ovulatory follicles, endometrial thickness, patient age, pelvic adhesions, type of anovulatory disorder and semen quality; (ii) pregnancy rates per clomiphene-IUI cycle are constant through at least six cycles; (iii) multiple births cannot be prevented by withholding human chorionic gonadotrophin or advising against coitus when multiple pre-ovulation follicles are present unless all follicles down to 10-12 mm diameter are counted. We also reviewed pregnancy outcome (number of gestational sacs, babies, preclinical and clinical abortion, ectopic pregnancy and birth sex) in 1744 clomiphene pregnancies from our clinic. We found that (i) preclinical and clinical abortions are increased only slightly by clomiphene use, compared to spontaneous pregnancy; (ii) clinical abortions are decreased in patients with polycystic ovaries and luteal insufficiency who use clomiphene; (iii) conception and preclinical abortions are related to endometrial thickness prior to ovulation; (iv) ectopic pregnancies are not increased by clomiphene and (v) the ratio of male births is not altered by clomiphene, except possibly in timed insemination cycles. These studies repudiate many misconceptions regarding clomiphene. They also show that clinical outcome may be improved by pre-ovulation ultrasound monitoring of ovarian and endometrial response.  相似文献

Arbitrarily shaped microstrip patch antennas have been analyzed for resonant frequency, input impedance, and radiation patterns. The segmentation technique and the cavity model have been used for this purpose. The usefulness and the accuracy of the method are shown through comparison with experimental results for a rectangular ring antenna. The agreement is seen to be very good. Ihe method appears to be more efficient compared to those reported so far for arbitrary shapes. Moreover, feed reactance is built into the analysis. The method presented here can also be used to analyze microstrip antennas with various types of loadings, e.g., shorting pins, matched loads, etc.  相似文献

PURPOSE: Nonresective treatment of the infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm by proximal and distal ligation of the aneurysm sac (exclusion) combined with aortic bypass has been previously reported. A 10-year experience with 831 patients undergoing this procedure was reviewed. METHODS: From 1984 to 1994, 831 (761 elective, 70 urgent) of 1103 patients being treated for abdominal aortic aneurysm underwent repair with the retroperitoneal exclusion technique. Perioperative morbidity and mortality, estimated blood loss, transfusion requirements, natural history of the excluded aneurysm sac, and long-term survival were all assessed. RESULTS: The operative mortality rate for patients undergoing exclusion and bypass was 3.4%. The incidence of nonfatal perioperative complications was 5.2%. Colon ischemia requiring resection occurred in 2 (0.2%) of the 831 patients. Estimated blood loss was 638 +/- 557 cc (50 to 330 cc). On follow-up 17 (2%) patients were found to have patent aneurysm sacs as detected by duplex examination. Fourteen patients required surgical intervention. No cases of graft infection or aortoenteric fistula have been noted. CONCLUSION: Retroperitoneal exclusion and bypass is a viable alternative to traditional open endoaneurysmorraphy in surgery for abdominal aortic aneurysm. Most excluded aneurysm sacs have thrombosis without any long- or short-term complications; however, in a small number of patients delayed rupture of patent aneurysm occurs, thus emphasizing the need for diligent follow-up and appropriate intervention.  相似文献

A claw-pole synchronous generator, or Lundell alternator, is the main source of electric energy in today's internal combustion engine automobile. Keeping in mind that, as consumer power on board a vehicle steadily increases, the importance of creating an accurate computational tool for Lundell alternator analysis and potential gains on output, efficiency and weight, is clear. This paper shows how a contemporary electric machine analysis tool, the magnetic equivalent circuit method, helps one predict performance of a Lundell alternator with a very high accuracy and a minimum of computational time  相似文献
