Using photoacoustic spectroscopy, the composition-dependent absorption coefficient (α), thermal diffusivity (σ), and optical bandgap (E g) of Zn1−x Mn x Te diluted magnetic semiconductor have been measured. For higher Mn compositions, the absorption spectrum of the Zn–Mn–Te system consists of three regions, viz., the high absorption region, the exponential region, and the weak absorption tail. The bandgap follows a nonlinear variation with composition, showing a downward bowing with a minimum around x = 0.31 as a consequence of the electro-negativity difference between the substituted atoms. The composition-dependent band-edge effective mass of the carriers does not show the bowing behavior indicating that the momentum matrix is not the same for all the Zn1−x Mn x Te alloys due to different lattice constants. The absorption spectra show that the transition is allowed and direct.  相似文献

In this paper, an electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) material in the range of 0.5–0.8 THz has been simulated with Arlon AR 600 (ε=6.0) as host material and air‐cylinders as the foreign embedded material. The effective dielectric permittivity of this material has been analyzed at the frequency range of 0.590–0.620 THz. The reduced effective dielectric permittivity substrate of thickness 50 µm has been used to design the microstrip antenna at 600 GHz with a novel approach. This proposed antenna shows an enhanced directivity of 15.1 dBi at 600 GHz frequency. To compare the analysis, the operating frequency has been scaled down by a factor of 100 and various results have been compared by using two different commercially available simulators CST Microwave Studio based on the finite integral technique and Ansoft HFSS based on the finite element method. The present investigation deals with the study of fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) behaviour of conventional IN 718 (Ni-0.02%C-19.0%Cr-19.35%Fe-3.0%Mo-5.10%Nb-0.50%Al-1.00%Ti-0.0033%B, all in wt%) and modified IN 718 (Ni-0.02%C-19.04%Cr-19.31%Fe-3.04%Mo-4.73%Nb-1.01%Al-1.16%Ti-0.0033%B, all in wt%) alloys at ambient temperature. Modified IN 718 alloy exhibits enhanced crack growth resistance due to roughness induced crack closure as compared to conventional IN 718 alloy.  相似文献

Alloy 718 samples under two initial microstructural conditions, viz., solution annealed to form only γ phase (ST) and aged to precipitate only δ particles (DELTA), were deformed in tension till fracture in the temperatures range from 200°C–700°C. From the comparison of the evolved microstructure of deformed and undeformed specimens that have been subjected to similar thermal history, deformation induced precipitation could be identified. Deformation in the range of 550°C to 650°C promoted the precipitation of γ′ and γ″ phases in both structures. In case of DELTA alloy, the γ′ precipitation was found to precede the γ′ phase precipitation while no such preference for precipitation could be identified in ST specimens. This difference in the precipitation behaviour and the sequence of precipitation has been explained on the basis of the relative concentration of solutes in the matrix of the starting microstructures of ST and DELTA specimens.  相似文献

In this paper, theoretical analysis of the input impedance of the two gap-coupled circular microstrip path antennas loaded with shorting post has been performed. The concept of coupled microstrip lines is applied to the gap-coupled microstrip antennas loaded with shorting post and using circuit theory approach the input impedance of the structure is calculated. The effect of mutual coupling between the radiating apertures has been taken into account. Simulated results are presented for input impedance of the gap-coupled circular microstrip patch antenna loaded with shorting post which supports the theoretical predictions. The simulation work has been performed using the method-of-moment based commercially available simulator IE3D. The comparison shows good agreement between simulated and numerically computed results.  相似文献

In present communication, we propose a modified resource allocation strategy, namely, hybrid connection algorithm, for achieving efficient restoration in WDM optical networks. The main theme of the algorithm is that, while attempting connection establishment, a wavelength is reserved in advance for providing resources for backup lightpaths. The analysis and the comparison of the proposed strategy with other existing strategies has been undertaken using metrics such as, restoration efficiency, number of wavelength links used by primary and backup lightpaths, and the percent link utilization. The proposed strategy provides 100% restoration efficiency and much better performance than the existing techniques.  相似文献

Binary decision diagrams (BDDs) are the most frequently used data structure for the representation and handling of Boolean functions because of their excellent time and space efficiencies. In this article, a reversed BDD‐based pass transistor logic (PTL) logic synthesis is presented for low‐power and high‐performance circuits without exploiting the canonical property of BDDs. The procedure of the reversed BDD transformation into PTL is achieved by a one‐to‐one correspondence with the BDD node and PTL cell. Layouts are generated for the benchmark circuits and simulated in terms of power dissipation, propagation delay and area. The reversed BDD technique performs better in terms of area, delay and power dissipation due to the regularity, a reduced critical path, less interconnection wires, a multiplexer‐based construction of PTL circuits, and less switching activities. Phase-redundancy is a unique technique for improving the reliability of large variable speed AC drives. This technique, derived from the concept of parallel-redundancy, is based on the capability of a multiphase machine to start and continue running with one or more of its many stator phases open or short circuited with lower performance. Structural unbalance in the machine following loss of excitation is the main source of performance degradation. This paper, therefore, presents a simple generalized approach to analyze the dynamic as well as steady-state behavior of a multiphase induction machine during fault condition in a phase-redundant AC drive system. The key analytical results have been experimentally verified by tests conducted on a laboratory prototype.  相似文献
