The microwave spectrum of CD3OH has been studied over the 8 to 58 GHz region, and numerousb-type transitions have been assigned. Many of these belong toP subbranches which descend to the microwave region from subband origins lying much higher in the far-infrared, pass through zero frequency, and return upward again. Others are members ofb-typeQ branches which extend across the region. As well, variousa-typeK-doublet lines arising as transitions directly across the split levels of asymmetry doublets have been identified.  相似文献

Site-specific isotope fractionation of hydrogen was investigated, at natural abundance, by deuterium nuclear magnetic resonance (SNIF-NMR) on nearly two hundred olive oil samples. Owing to the complexity of the 2H-NMR spectra of the mixtures of fatty acids obtained after hydrolysis of the oils, the different signals were gathered into six clusters. Knowing the contribution to the clusters of each of the four fatty acids considered (C16:0, C18:0, C18:1, and C18:2) and the composition of the fatty acids in the mixture, it is possible to compute the site-specific isotope ratios of the clusters from the molar fractions obtained from the 2H-NMR-spectra and from the total isotope ratio of the mixture, determined by isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS). The results are discussed in terms of geographical (country, region and elevation) and temporal (year) parameters and they are tentatively explained on a climatic basis.  相似文献

Fibre reinforced plastics describes a group of materials composed of inorganic or organic fibres embedded in a resin matrix. are strong, non-magnetic, light-weight and for the most part, non-corrodable. There is great scope for the use of as concrete reinforcement and the high strength of the materials is conducive to prestressed applications. However, finding a suitable method of anchoring the tendons without inducing stress concentrations in the fibres has been identified as a problem. The current paper investigates the potential for the use of expansive cement couplers as a means of pretensioning tendons. An experimental study was carried out on couplers to join steel reinforcing bars and then extended to include the coupling of materials to steel prestress wire.  相似文献

The epidemiological data clearly demonstrates that filter feeding bivalve shellfish can, and do, act as efficient vehicles for the transmission of enteric viruses transmitted by the faecal-oral route. This identified hazard has been documented as a cause for concern by various international agencies and has a long history. Disease outbreaks can occur on an epidemic scale as graphically illustrated by an outbreak of Hepatitis A in Shanghai, China in 1988 involving about 300,000 cases. Improvement of harvesting area water quality offers the most sustainable route to improvement in the virological quality of bivalve shellfish sold live. However there is growing awareness, and concern, that current regulatory standards based on faecal coliform monitoring do not fully protect the shellfish consumer from viral infection. New viral test methods based on PCR, and the development of alternative more reliable faecal pollution indicators, offer new approaches for the further development of public health controls. However, further work is required to build a scientific consensus and to understand the implications of their introduction into legislation.  相似文献

A retrofitting technique has been developed that uses carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) straps to increase the shear capacity of reinforced concrete beams. The vertical straps are not bonded to the beam but are instead anchored against the beam, which makes this technique potentially more effective than bonded FRP retrofitting techniques. However, it also means that models for bonded FRPs are not appropriate for use with the straps. Instead, a model based on a shear friction approach has been developed where the strain in the straps is calculated based on a term that accounts for the effects of prestress and additional strain in the strap due to shear crack opening. The model can either consider the shear reinforcement to be smeared along the length of the beam or discrete elements. The “smeared” model was checked against an experimental database consisting of rectangular, T-, and deep beams, both in terms of predicted capacity and predicted strain in the straps. Overall the smeared model predicted the capacity of the specimens and, with some adjustments, the strains quite accurately. There were, however, cases when it was more appropriate to use the “discrete” model such as when the transverse reinforcement ratio was low or when the transverse reinforcement spacing was high. Further experimental data are required to fully validate the models and to determine appropriate limits on the use of the smeared model and the discrete model. However, the initial results are promising.  相似文献

Using glycerinated spasmoneme of giant Zoothamnium sp., the physical properties of spasmoneme before and after Ca2+-induced contraction (pCa 4.5) were investigated. The volume change of spasmoneme contraction was measured under zero tension. The length and diameter decreased by about 50% of their initial value as a result of contraction, which means that contraction is nearly isotropic. Thus the volume of spasmoneme decreased drastically by 86% of its original value. The swollen ratio of extended and contracted spasmoneme were 0.07 and 0.37, respectively. Tension-extension relationships of extended and contracted spasmonemes were measured. By applying the theory of rubber elasticity, the number of segments of a chain in originally extended spasmoneme was only 3.3, i.e., the chain was almost a straight one. On the other hand, the number of segments of a chain in contracted spasmoneme was more than 100, i.e., the chain was essentially a random one. Furthermore, the total number of chains in single spasmoneme was the same in extended and contracted spasmoneme. This means that the interchain cross-links of chains were not influenced by addition or removal of Ca2+. Moreover, the molecular weight of a chain is estimated to be at most about 50 kd. By considering all these results, it is concluded that the contractile mechanism of spasmoneme originates in the intramolecular folding and unfolding induced by Ca2+ binding and detaching.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to quantify how elite high jumpers used their free limbs in a competitive high jump and to estimate the contribution that these made to vertical take-off velocity. This was achieved by analysing the competitive performances of six elite male high jumpers using 3D motion analysis and assessing limb function using the relative momentum method. The mean peak relative momentum of the arm nearest to the bar at take-off was 9.4 kg m s(-1), while that of the arm furthest away from the bar was 11.3 kg m s(-1) and these did not differ significantly. The free (lead) leg reached a mean peak relative momentum of 20.9 kg m s(-1). At touch-down the free leg had a large positive relative momentum that was offset by the negative relative momentum of the arms, although their combined value still remained positive. The mean combined free limbs' relative momentum at touch-down was 13.8 kg m s(-1) and reached a peak of 37.6 kg m s(-1). The difference between these two values amounted to 7.1 % of whole-body momentum, which was judged to be the amount by which the free limbs contributed to performance. The arms had a greater influence on performance than had the lead leg. This was because the lead leg increased its relative momentum little during the contact period while the arms had an initial negative value that increased markedly after touch-down. The compressive force exerted by the motion of the free limbs, estimated by the change in the combined free limbs' relative momentum, reached a mean peak of 366 N and was greatest at 37% of the contact period. It was concluded that to maximize the contribution the free limbs can make to performance, given the restraints imposed on technique by other performance requirements, the arms should have a vigorous downward motion at touch-down to make the most use of the high (but little changing) relative momentum of the lead leg.  相似文献

In the past two decades, many technical advances have made tube enteral feeding much more comfortable and acceptable to patients and their families. This has greatly expanded the use of this therapy, both in clinical conditions where it was traditionally prescribed and in many other diagnoses. This expanded use raises important questions about how much enteral nutrition is being used, the medical outcome in different clinical conditions, and the quality of life experienced by long-term therapy users.
