Mass Spectrometric Studies on 16, 17-Amino Alcohols of 3-Methoxy-1,3,5(10)-estratriene The electron impact ionization mass spectra of the four isomeric 16, 17-amino alcohols of 3-methoxy-1, 3, 5(10)-estratriene and their N-acetyl and N, O-diacetyl derivatives have been studied. The mass spectra of the isomeric amino alcohols are similar, whereas those of the isomeric N-acetyl and N, O-diacetyl derivatives show some differences depending on the configuration of the substituents in positions 16 and 17. Possibilities of mass spectrometric differentiation between the isomers are discussed. 相似文献

Nefazodone (2-[3-[4-(3-chlorophenyl)-1-piperazinyl]propyl]-5-ethyl- 2,4-dihydro-4-(2-phenoxyethyl)-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-one) has been reported to be effective in the treatment of depression. Antagonism of serotonin type 2A (5HT2A) receptors, as well as inhibition of the serotonin (5HT) uptake carrier, has been suggested to contribute to the antidepressant action of nefazodone in vivo (Eison et al., 1990). Nefazodone weakly antagonized the quipazine-induced rise in rat serum corticosterone levels and the quipazine-induced increase in rat hypothalamic 3-methoxy-4-hydroxy-phenylglycol sulfate, suggesting blockade of 5HT2A receptors in vivo. Nefazodone, however, failed to antagonize the p-chloroamphetamine-induced depletion of mouse or rat brain 5HT, displaying a lack of effect on the 5HT uptake carrier. These data extend previous in vitro and in vivo data (Eison, et al. 1990) reporting nefazodone to be an antagonist at 5HT2A receptors, but fail to show inhibition of the 5HT uptake carrier in the same dose range. 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To examine noradrenergic (NA) function in children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) by replicating and expanding upon a previous finding that ADHD children with and without reading disabilities (RD) differ in plasma levels of the NA metabolite 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenylglycol (MHPG). METHOD: Plasma levels of MHPG were compared in ADHD children who were subdivided on the basis of the presence or absence of RD. Subsequently, this replication sample was combined with a previously studied sample to further explore the relationship between plasma MHPG levels and measures of cognitive function in children with ADHD. RESULTS: Plasma levels of MHPG were significantly lower in ADHD children without RD, compared with those with RD, replicating a published finding. Analyses in the combined sample indicated that, among children with ADHD, plasma MHPG levels were inversely associated with measures of academic achievement and verbal processing, but not parent or teacher ratings of behavior or continuous performance test measures of attention and impulsivity. CONCLUSIONS: These data indicate that children with ADHD are not homogeneous with regard to NA function and that neurochemical variation is closely associated with differences in clinical characteristics of the children. 相似文献

NMR relaxation reveals modifications in rubber phase dynamics during long-term degradation of high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The microstructure of rubber-modified polystyrene after thermal ageing at 90 °C and multiple extrusion was analyzed by time-domain nuclear magnetic resonance (TD-NMR) in a non-destructive manner. The transverse magnetization decay behaviour observed in TD-NMR was related to the total rubber fraction and its cross-linking density. The data reveal different mechanisms of long-term rubber degradation in high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) during thermo-oxidation and multiple processing: Multiple processing causes a slight increase in the cross-linking density of the rubber phase, without appreciably altering the total amount of rubber fraction. Thermo-oxidation is accompanied by a significant overall decrease of the rubber fraction, an increase of the cross-linking density, and a pronounced increase of the non-crosslinked fraction (chain ends and fragmented segments). The NMR results correlate well with spectroscopic observations and moderately with macroscopic mechanical properties. 相似文献

Actions of the new antiepileptic drug lamotrigine were characterised using whole cell patch clamp recordings from rat CA1 pyramidal cells in vitro. The results suggest that lamotrigine, besides its previously described effect on the fast sodium inward current and calcium currents, modulates the transient potassium outward current ID. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this review is to introduce the reader to a systematic approach to categorizing pollen types. This will enable the reader to recognize pollen characteristics of the most common botanical sources and determine the relevant contributors to the local aeroallergen burden. DATA SOURCES: Allergenic plant and pollen atlases for pollen characteristics, allergy texts for procedures and overviews, and relevant reviews from the English medical literature (1985 to present). RESULTS: By applying a visual gestalt utilizing grain number, size, shape, surface structures, and internal detail, one is able to identify pollen source to the appropriate botanical taxonomic level. Identification may be possible only to the family or order, but most frequently to the genus, and occasionally to the species. CONCLUSIONS: Outdoor sampling allows the identification of aeroallergen burden in a locale. In conjunction with field work, the relevant sources can be identified as well as time of pollination.
