Optimizing the production, maintenance and extension of lexical resources is one the crucial aspects impacting natural language processing (NLP). A second aspect involves optimizing the process leading to their integration in applications. With this respect, we believe that a consensual specification on monolingual, bilingual and multilingual lexicons can be a useful aid for the various NLP actors. Within ISO, one purpose of Lexical Markup Framework (LMF, ISO-24613) is to define a standard for lexicons that covers multilingual lexical data.

BACKGROUND: Grape skin cell walls form a barrier against the diffusion of colour. The colour of red wines is mainly due to anthocyanins, although their concentration in wine is not always correlated with the anthocyanin content of grape skins. The cell wall composition changes during fruit ripening, so it was thought that a study of the ripening behaviour of four premium varieties might provide information on how the composition changes during ripening and explain the technological differences. RESULTS: The largest quantities of skin cell wall material (CWM) were isolated from Monastrell grapes, probably owing to the greater number of cell layers they contain and the thicker cell walls. During ripening, a loss of skin CWM (e.g. 120–60 and 65–45 mg CWM g?1 fresh skin for Monastrell J and Cabernet Sauvignon respectively) and galactose (e.g. 36–20 and 55–30 mg g?1 CWM for Cabernet Sauvignon and Monastrell J respectively) was observed, together with a decrease in the degree of pectin methylation and acetylation, except in Syrah, in which pectin methylation remained unchanged. These changes were accompanied by the accumulation of glucose, while other neutral sugars showed no significant variations. A correlation was found between the degree of ripening and those constituents changing in the grape skin cell wall. CONCLUSION: The cell wall composition differs sufficiently between grape varieties to allow discrimination between them. Ripening was associated with a decrease in the quantity of CWM and galactose in the cell walls. Monastrell showed the largest quantities of both throughout ripening. The differences observed between Monastrell and the other varieties would explain the technological differences between them. Copyright © 2007 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Polymerase chain reaction amplification of a conserved region of the -actin gene has been used for the specific identification of goose (Anser anser) and mule duck (Anas platyrhynchos×Cairina moschata) foie gras. Universal primers were used for the amplification of a DNA fragment containing three introns and four exons of the -actin gene in goose and mule duck. Sequence analysis of the amplified fragments was necessary for the design of forward species-specific primers in the goose and mule duck -actin genes. The use of species-specific forward primers, together with a reverse universal primer, produced amplicons of different length, allowing clear identification of goose and mule duck foie gras samples. Analysis of experimental mixtures demonstrated that 1% of duck can be easily detected in goose foie gras using the PCR method developed here. This genetic marker can be very useful for the accurate identification of these two species in foie gras products.  相似文献

The transference and reactivity of proanthocyanidins is an important issue that affects the technological processing of some fruits, such as grapes and apples. These processes are affected by proanthocyanidins bound to cell wall polysaccharides, which are present in high concentrations during the processing of the fruits. Therefore, the effective extraction of proanthocyanidins from fruits to their juices or derived products will depend on the ability to manage these associations, and, in this respect, enzymes that degrade these polysaccharides could play an important role. The main objective of this work was to test the role of pure hydrolytic enzymes (polygalacturonase and cellulose) and a commercial enzyme containing these two activities on the extent of proanthocyanidin-cell wall interactions. The results showed that the modification promoted by enzymes reduced the amount of proanthocyanidins adsorbed to cell walls since they contributed to the degradation and release of the cell wall polysaccharides, which diffused into the model solution. Some of these released polysaccharides also presented some reactivity towards the proanthocyanidins present in a model solution.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: This research provides new insights into the biosorption of zinc on a waste product from the orange juice industry. Optimal operating conditions maximizing percentage zinc removal were determined in batch and fixed‐bed systems. Biomass was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and by major cation content in order to better understand the biosorpion mechanism. Zn‐loaded orange waste was proposed to be used as an alternative fuel in cement kilns. RESULTS: Sorption capacity was strongly affected by biosorbent dose and solution pH, and was not strongly sensitive to particle size under the experimental conditions studied. Equilibrium data were successfully described by a Langmuir model and sorption kinetic data were adequately modelled with the pseudo‐second‐order and Elovich rate equation. The biomass was found to possess high sorption capacity (qmax = 0.664 mmol g?1) and biosorption equilibrium was established in less than 3 h. Experimental breakthrough curves were adequately fitted to the Thomas model and the dose–response model, obtaining sorption capacities in continuous assays higher than those found in batch mode. Characterization of the biomass suggested the possible contribution of carboxyl and hydroxyl groups of biomass in Zn2+ biosorption and it also highlighted the important role of light metal ions in a possible ion‐exchange mechanism. Ce and Zr promoted Fe/Cu-modified natural clay based catalysts were prepared and tested in dry reforming of methane (DRM) at temperatures from 600 to 800 °C. The physicochemical properties of these catalysts were analyzed by means of N2 adsorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD). H2-temperature programmed reduction (H2-TPR) and CO2-temperature programmed desorption (TPD). Ce and Zr promotion resulted in a considerable increase of the catalytic activity. This increase can be mainly ascribed to an improved reducibility of Ni species, together with slightly higher Ni0 crystal size, that, on the other hand, also catalyze undesired parallel reactions resulting in carbon formation, such as direct methane decomposition. Both Ce and Zr presence also promoted the presence of weak and medium strength basic sites, which are thought to favor CO2 adsorption and desorption on the catalyst surface, leading to enhanced catalytic activity.  相似文献

Specific PCR and sequencing showed that a tet(M) gene was present in two tetracycline-resistant Lactococcus lactis strains isolated from a raw milk, starter-free cheese. Hybridisation experiments using as a probe an internal segment of the gene obtained by PCR associated tet(M) with plasmids of around the same size (30 kbp) in both strains. Molecular analysis of the tetracycline resistance loci, including the upstream and downstream regions of the genes, showed them to be identical to one other and to the tet(M) encoded by the conjugative transposon Tn916. Amplification of Tn916-derived segments suggested the transposon was complete in the two L. lactis strains. Further, curing of the tetracycline resistance was accompanied by a reduction in size of the plasmids comparable to that expected for Tn916. Tetracycline resistance could be transferred by conjugation to plasmid-free Lactococcus and Enterococcus strains. However, no plasmid DNA was detected among the transconjugants while both tet(M) and transposon-related sequences were amplified by PCR.
