Growth behavior of tin whiskers from pure tin and tin–bismuth plated leadframe (LF) packages for elevated temperature and high humidity storages and during thermal cycling was observed. In the storage at 60 °C/93% relative humidity (RH) and 85 °C/85%RH the galvanic corrosion occurred at the outer lead toes and shoulders where the base LF material is exposed, forming tin oxide layers of SnO2. The corroded layers spread inside the film and formed whiskers around the corroded islands. Many whiskers were observed to grow from grain boundaries for the Fe–42Ni alloy (alloy42) LF packages. It was confirmed that the corrosion tends to occur on the side surfaces of outer leads adjacent to the mold flash. The contribution of ionic contaminants in epoxy mold compound (EMC) to the corrosion was not identified. During thermal cycling between −65 °C and +150 °C whiskers grew out of as-deposited grains for pure tin-plated alloy42 LF packages and they grew linearly with an increase of number of cycle. Growth mechanisms of the whiskers from grain boundaries and as-deposited grains were discussed from the deformation mechanism map for tin and mathematical calculation with a steady-state diffusion model.  相似文献

Low-energy electron beam lithography has been performed with a microcolumn by adopting a new technique that condenses the electron beam efficiently. To increase the probe current while keeping the kinetic energy of electrons sufficiently low, the negative or positive bias has been applied to the accelerator electrode, which reduces the divergence of the electron beam and hence makes more electrons pass through the microcolumn. With this technique, the probe current more than 1 nA has been achieved, which is large enough for the practical application of microcolumn lithography even when the kinetic energy of electrons is as low as 160 eV. The results of microcolumn lithography by using the condensed electron beam with a low-energy of 160 and 327 eV are also presented.  相似文献

We evaluated the limit of scaling bottom electrode contact (BEC) heater size and high resistivity heater to reduce writing current. It was found that the resistivity of heater should be increased for reducing writing current below the heater size of about 50 nm without any undesirable increase of resistance of the crystalline state (SET state, Rset). It was shown in the numerical simulations that the dissipated heat loss through BEC during melting GST was decreased in the increase of resistivity of heater. In addition, we analyzed the resistance components contributing to the total set resistance. It was observed that the undesired sharp increase of Rset as the BEC size decreases below 50 nm was attributed to the resistance component of GST–BEC interface. In the case of high resistivity heater, the contributions of both incomplete crystallization and heater itself were enhanced.  相似文献

This letter presents a call admission control (CAC) strategy for system throughput maximization in wireless uplink systems. This strategy considers not only the call-level quality of service (QoS) (i.e., blocking probability) but also the packet-level QoS (i.e., outage probability). Using the statistical co-channel interference (CCI) model and state diagram, the outage probability and the blocking probability are investigated as a function of the relative traffic load. We formulate the CAC strategy problem based on relative traffic load, and suggest a solution. The numerical results show that maximum system throughput can be achieved by controlling the relative traffic load. In addition, we illustrate the region where system throughput is constrained by call- and packet-level QoSs. This examination shows that the call and packet-level QoSs must be considered together to achieve maximum system throughput.  相似文献

A passive optical network (PON) architecture based on a hybrid wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) and time-division multiplexing (TDM) PON system with a remotely pumped erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is presented as an excellent candidate for use in a next-generation optical access network. The remotely pumped EDFA operates as a bidirectional amplifier and provides a 15-dB gain to both upstream signals and seed light sources, so the sensitivity of upstream transmission is greatly improved. An upstream transmission of 1.25 Gb/s with a low seed channel power of -14 dBm is made feasible over a total reach of 25 km for 32-WDM channels and 16-TDM splits by the use of the remotely pumped EDFA. This scheme has advantages that it uses a single transmission fiber for both down-and up-stream signals and that it reduces the Rayleigh scattering contribution.  相似文献

We report on the fabrication of 2-V-operating ZnO-based inverter with two n-channel thin-film transistors (TFTs) on 22-nm-thin organic/inorganic nanohybrid dielectric, which contains AlOx/TiOx/AlOx in triple-layer structure. The inverter shows a high voltage gain of ~20 under the supply voltage (VDD) of 2 V but with a marginal transition voltage of 0.1 V (operation range of 0-2 V). To control the transition voltage to a more adequate value, an 8-V gate pulse was applied on driving ZnO-TFT so that some of the channel electrons would be tunneled through the AlOx-based barrier and trapped in the TiOx-based layer. Our inverter then displayed an optimum transition voltage of 0.75 V.  相似文献

ABSTRACT:  This study was undertaken to determine survival characteristics of inocula of a 3-strain mixture of Salmonella Tennessee in 5 commercial brands of peanut butter (A, B, C, D, and E). Inoculated peanut butter was stored at 4 (refrigerator temperature) and 22 °C (room temperature) for up to 14 d. After 1, 3, 5, 7, and 14 d, surviving cells, including injured cells, were enumerated on appropriate selective agar, including use of the agar overlay method. Populations in samples inoculated with 106–7 CFU/g and stored for 14 d at 4 and 22 °C decreased by 0.15 to 0.65 and 0.34 to 1.29 log CFU/g, respectively, depending on the formulation. Peanut butter A showed a significantly lower number of S . Tennessee cells when stored at 22 °C for 14 d, compared to 4 °C ( P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the levels of S. Tennessee at 4 and 22 °C in products B, C, D, and E ( P > 0.05).  相似文献

Experience‐dependent synapse remodeling is associated with information storage in the nervous system. Neuronal synapses show alteration in various neurological and cognitive disorders in their structure and function. At the ultrastructural level, parallel fiber boutons contacting multiple spines of Purkinje cells in the cerebellar cortex are commonly observed in physiologically enriched animals as well as pathological ataxic mutants. However, the dendritic origin of those spines on parallel fiber multiple‐synapse boutons (MSBs) has been poorly understood. Here, we investigated this issue by 3‐dimensional ultrastructural analysis to determine synaptic connectivity of MSBs in both mice housed in physically enriched environment and cerebellar ataxic mutants. Our results demonstrated that environmental enrichment selectively induced MSBs to contact spines from the same parent dendrite, indicating focal strengthening of synapse through the simultaneous activation of two adjacent spines. In contrast, ataxic mutants displaying impaired motor coordination had significantly more MSBs involving spines originating from different neighboring dendrites compared to both wild‐type and environmentally enriched animals, suggesting that compromising multiple synapse formation may lead to abnormal motor behavior in the mutant mice. These findings propose that environmental stimulation in normal animals mainly involves the refinement of preexisting synaptic networks, whereas pathological ataxic conditions may results from less‐selective but compromising multiple synaptic formation. This study underscores that different types of multiple synapse boutons may have disparate effects on cerebellar synaptic transmission.  相似文献
