The chemical composition and the antioxidant potential of three species of wild mushrooms from Northeastern Portugal, namely Agaricus albertii, Agaricus urinascens var. excellens, and Pleurotus eryngii, were compared. Standard procedures were followed in the nutritional value evaluation, while chromatographic procedures were used to analyze free sugars, fatty acids, tocopherols, phenolic compounds, and organic acids. To assess the antioxidant potential, reducing power, radical-scavenging activity, and lipid peroxidation inhibition were evaluated. P. eryngii revealed the highest levels of macronutrients, except proteins, as also the highest sugars, tocopherols, and monounsaturated fatty acids contents. A. albertii and A. urinascens var. excellens showed similar macronutrients composition. However, A. albertii revealed the highest content in PUFA and phenolic compounds. P. eryngii revealed the highest reducing power and radical-scavenging activity and A. albertii the highest lipid peroxidation inhibition. This study provides a detailed chemical characterization and antioxidant potential evaluation of three species of wild mushrooms from Portugal not yet previously reported. Thus, this work intended to contribute to the increase of information concerning species of edible mushrooms (directed to the scientific community and general population) as well as contribute to the conservation of these resources as sources of compounds of interest.  相似文献

A 2-axis hybrid positioning system was developed for precision contouring on micro-milling operation. The system was developed to overcome the micro-positioning limitations of conventional linear stage positioning system on machine tools. A 2-axis flexure hinge type piezoelectric stage was added on a standard milling machine to obtain better machining results. The control method used for the hybrid system was active error compensation type, where errors from linear stages are cancelled by the piezoelectric stage motion. Positioning experiments showed an improvement of machine accuracy which was confirmed by the machining results. A micro-pillar was fabricated for the validation of long-range and high-precision contouring capability. The system was successfully implemented on micro-milling machining to achieve high-precision machining results.  相似文献

Sanitizer-induced stress on the growth kinetics of Escherichia coli and Bacillus cereus spores was investigated. Morphologies of B. cereus vegetative cells and spores were also compared. Nonpathogenic E. coli and pathogenic E. coli O157:H7 and B. cereus spores were treated with 100 ppm sodium hypochlorite in inoculated broth and stored at 13, 18, 24, 30, and 36°C. The lag time (LT) of stressed E. coli was extended more at low temperatures, regardless of pathogenicity. E. coli and B. cereus vegetative cells were sensitive to a sanitizer treatment with NaClO. Stressed strains grew more rapidly than unstressed strains. However, sanitizer stress did not significantly (p>0.05) affect the LT and specific growth rate (SGR) of B. cereus spores, regardless of storage temperature. Transmission electron microscopy analysis also revealed that stress induced using the NaClO sanitizer caused morphological damage to B. cereus vegetative cells, but not to B. cereus spores.  相似文献

We report a simple method to prepare hierarchically structured TiO(2) spheres (HS-TiO(2)), using an electrostatic spray technique, that are utilized for photoelectrodes of highly efficient dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). This method has an advantage to remove the synthesis steps in conventional sol-gel method to form nano-sized spheres of TiO(2) nanoclusters. The fine dispersion of commercially available nanocrystalline TiO(2) particles (P25, Degussa) in EtOH without surfactants and additives is electro-sprayed directly onto a fluorine-dopoed tin-oxide (FTO) substrate for DSSC photoelectrodes. The DSSCs of HS-TiO(2) photoelectrodes show high energy conversion efficiency over 10% under illumination of light at 100 mW cm(-2), AM1.5 global. It is concluded from frequency-dependent measurements that the faster electron diffusion coefficient and longer lifetime of HS-TiO(2) than those in nonstructured TiO(2) contribute to the enhanced efficiency in DSSCs.  相似文献

High-performance, room-temperature (RT), solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) were fabricated using hierarchically structured TiO? nanofiber (HS-NF) electrodes and plastic crystal (PC)-based solid-state electrolytes. The electrospun HS-NF photoelectrodes possessed a unique morphology in which submicrometer-scale core fibers are interconnected and the nanorods are dendrited onto the fibers. This nanorod-in-nanofiber morphology yielded porosity at both the mesopore and macropore level. The macropores, steming from the interfiber space, afforded high pore volumes to facilitate the infiltration of the PC electrolytes, whereas the mesoporous nanorod dendrites offered high surface area for enhanced dye loading. The solid-state DSSCs using HS-NFs (DSSC-NF) demonstrated improved power conversion efficiency (PCE) compared to conventional TiO? nanoparticle (NP) based DSSCs (DSSC-NP). The improved performance (>2-fold) of the DSSC-NFs was due to the reduced internal series resistance (R(s)) and the enhanced charge recombination lifetime (τ(r)) determined by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and intensity modulated photocurrent/photovoltage spectroscopy. The easy penetration of the PC electrolytes into HS-NF layers via the macropores reduces R(s) significantly, improving the fill factor (FF) of the resulting DSSC-NFs. The τ(r) difference between the DSSC-NF and DSSC-NP in the PC electrolytes was extraordinary (~14 times) compared to reported results in conventional organic liquid electrolytes. The optimized PCE of DSSC-NF using the PC electrolytes was 6.54, 7.69, and 7.93% at the light intensity of 100, 50, and 30 mW cm?2, respectively, with increased charge collection efficiency (>40%). This is the best performing RT solid-state DSSC using a PC electrolyte. Considering the fact that most reported quasi-solid state or nonvolatile electrolytes require higher iodine contents for efficient ion transport, our HS-NFs are a promising morphology for such electrolytes that have limited ion mass transport.  相似文献

We have fabricated hexagonal close-packed (hcp) Ni nanoparticles covered by a face-centered cubic (fcc) Ni surface layer by polyol method. The magnetic properties have been investigated as a function of temperature and applied magnetic field. The magnetic behavior reveals that the system should be divided magnetically into three distinct phases with different origins. The fcc Ni phase on the shell contributes to the superparamagnetism through a wide temperature range up to 360 K. The hcp Ni phase at the core is associated with antiferromagnetic nature below 12 K. These observations are in good agreement with the X-ray absorption spectroscopy and magnetic circular dichroism measurements. In our particular case, the unique hcp core and fcc shell structure gives rise to an additional anomaly at 20 K in the zero-field-cooled magnetization curve. Its position is barely affected by the magnetic field but its structure disappears above 30 kOe, showing a metamagnetic transition in the magnetization versus magnetic field curve. This new phase originates from the magnetic exchange at the interface between the hcp and fcc Ni sublattices.  相似文献

The thermal conductivity (κ) of two bilayer graphene samples each suspended between two microresistance thermometers was measured to be 620 ± 80 and 560 ± 70 W m(-1) K(-1) at room temperature and exhibits a κ ∝ T(1.5) behavior at temperatures (T) between 50 and 125 K. The lower κ than that calculated for suspended graphene along with the temperature dependence is attributed to scattering of phonons in the bilayer graphene by a residual polymeric layer that was clearly observed by transmission electron microscopy.  相似文献

Amorphous aluminium oxide coatings were processed by metalorganic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD); their structural characteristics were determined as a function of the processing conditions, the process was modelled considering appropriate chemical kinetic schemes, and the properties of the obtained material were investigated and were correlated with the nanostructure of the coatings. With increasing processing temperature in the range 350 degrees C-700 degrees C, subatmospheric MOCVD of alumina from aluminium tri-isopropoxide (ATI) sequentially yields partially hydroxylated amorphous aluminium oxides, amorphous Al2O3 (415 degrees C-650 degrees C) and nanostructured gamma-Al2O3 films. A numerical model for the process allowed reproducing the non uniformity of deposition rate along the substrate zone due to the depletion of ATI. The hardness of the coatings prepared at 350 degrees C, 480 degrees C and 700 degrees C is 6 GPa, 11 GPa and 1 GPa, respectively. Scratch tests on films grown on TA6V titanium alloy reveal adhesive and cohesive failures for the amorphous and nanocrystalline ones, respectively. Alumina coating processed at 480 degrees C on TA6V yielded zero weight gain after oxidation at 600 degrees C in lab air. The surface of such low temperature processed amorphous films is hydrophobic (water contact angle 106 degrees), while the high temperature processed nanocrystalline films are hydrophilic (48 degrees at a deposition temperature of 700 degrees C). It is concluded that amorphous Al2O3 coatings can be used as oxidation and corrosion barriers at ambient or moderate temperature. Nanostructured with Pt or Ag nanoparticles, they can also provide anti-fouling or catalytic surfaces.  相似文献

Vulnerable plaques are the major cause of carotid and coronary vascular problems, such as heart attack or stroke. A correct modeling of plaque echomorphology and composition can help the identification of such lesions. The Rayleigh distribution is widely used to describe (nearly) homogeneous areas in ultrasound images. Since plaques may contain tissues with heterogeneous regions, more complex distributions depending on multiple parameters are usually needed, such as Rice, K or Nakagami distributions. In such cases, the problem formulation becomes more complex, and the optimization procedure to estimate the plaque echomorphology is more difficult. Here, we propose to model the tissue echomorphology by means of a mixture of Rayleigh distributions, known as the Rayleigh mixture model (RMM). The problem formulation is still simple, but its ability to describe complex textural patterns is very powerful. In this paper, we present a method for the automatic estimation of the RMM mixture parameters by means of the expectation maximization algorithm, which aims at characterizing tissue echomorphology in ultrasound (US). The performance of the proposed model is evaluated with a database of in vitro intravascular US cases. We show that the mixture coefficients and Rayleigh parameters explicitly derived from the mixture model are able to accurately describe different plaque types and to significantly improve the characterization performance of an already existing methodology.  相似文献
