Assessment of trunk-pipeline survivability taking into account residual welding stresses

A method to calculate pipeline survivability (operability of a part having cracks) taking into account residual welding stresses is proposed. This method allows one to determine the pipeline’s residual life, i.e., to make a conclusion whether the pipeline may be operated after ultrasonic testing detects cracklike defects of a certain size.     

Analytical solution of a system of nonlinear measuring equations of a 12-pole microwave reflectometer

Analytical solution of a system of nonlinear measuring equations of a 12-pole microwave reflectometer was obtained. Criteria for selecting a true solution in the general case were developed and the analysis was conducted for a number of particular cases that may generate practical interest.     

Influence of lead on the wear resistance of cast composites of the Fe-Cr-Cu-Ti-C system in sliding friction

The positive influence of lead (2.5%) on the original structure of a cast composite of the Fe-Cr-Cu-C-Ti system, its wear rate, friction coefficient, and the formation of secondary structures is established under the conditions of dry friction and friction with boundary lubrication. __________ Translated from Fizyko-Khimichna Mekhanika Materialiv, Vol. 42, No. 6, pp. 73–80, November–December, 2006.

目的：为了提高雷达装备故障诊断的效率和可靠性。方法：通过对雷达装备综合测试和故障诊断要求和方法的分析。介绍一种适用于雷达装备的故障智能诊断专家模型，探讨了该模型的基本结构和相应的推理机制及故障诊断策略。结果：结论雷达故障诊断的特点，研究了该模型及诊断方法在雷达装备中的具体应用，证实了该方法是有效的。结论：将自动测试技术和专家系统相结合，可以提高故障诊断的效率和可靠性。     

A system for real-time measurements of current-density distribution in low-energy electron beams with large cross sections

A system for real-time measurements of the current-density distribution in electron beams ejected from large-area electron accelerators has been developed. The system, which is based on Faraday cups, a microprocessor, and a PC, is designed for measuring the parameters of the electron beams ejected from large-area accelerators—devices for ionizing electroionization lasers and technological accelerators—and ensures real-time monitoring of the current-density distribution over the electron-beam cross section with a relative measurement accuracy of at least ±2%.
