单一体系氯三嗪粘合增进剂替代以钴为基础的粘合体系

传统的钢丝与橡胶粘合增进体系通常含有某种钴盐，这种钻盐或单用，或与间苯二酚给予体和亚甲基给予体并用。实验室研究表明，两种非钻化学助剂能完全替代钴、间苯二酚和亚甲基给予体，其性能可与之媲美乃至更好。２－氯－４，６－双（Ｎ－苯基对苯二胺基）－１，３，５－三嗪，代号ＫＶＤＡ；２－氯－４，６－二苯胺基－１，３，５－三嗪，代号ＳＢＤＩ，二者对镀黄铜和镀锌钢丝与橡胶粘合的老化前后性能有很好的增进作用，同时对胶料老化后物理性能无不良影响，而钻盐却是已知的助氧化剂，有损于胶料老化后的物理性能。     

Soft tissue ridge augmentation utilizing a combination onlay-interpositional graft procedure: a case report

Esthetic reconstruction of large-volume Class III ridge deformities where bone and soft tissue have been lost buccolingually as well as apicocoronally continues to offer a major challenge in therapy to periodontists and to those engaged in advanced reconstructive dentistry. No single procedure is well suited for solving all problems in reconstructive surgery. A series of staged surgical procedures is frequently necessary to augment the ridge to its former dimensions. The authors have devised a combination onlay-interpositional graft procedure that appears to offer promise in solving many of the problems encountered in gaining predictable soft tissue ridge augmentation in Class III ridge defects.     

Integrated optical, acoustically tunable wavelength filter

A TM/TE convertor is combined with a TE-pass polariser on a common LiNbO/sub 3/ chip to obtain an integrated optical, acoustically tunable wavelength filter. Its tuning range is 1.45-1.57 mu m wavelength with a filter half-width of 2.8 nm. Due to the combined acoustical/optical strip guide structure used in the mode convertor, a very low acoustic drive power of only 9 mW is required.<>     

A study of the Purdue Non-Language Adaptability Test.

This nonlanguage group test of mental ability intended for industrial use was administered to 62 male students. It correlated .367 with the achievement test criterion. Test performance was uninfluenced by visual acuity, but age variations among Ss resulted in a correlation of -.326. Age norms similar to those of Wechsler are suggested. Cytoplasmic loop three of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator contributes to regulation of chloride channel activity

To examine the contribution of the large cytoplasmic loops of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) to channel activity, the three point-mutations (S945L, H949Y, G970R) were characterized that have been detected in the third cytoplasmic loop (CL3, residues 933-990) in patients with cystic fibrosis. Chinese hamster ovary cell lines stably expressing wild-type CFTR or mutant G970R-CFTR yielded polypeptides with apparent masses of 170 kDa as the major products, whereas the major products of mutants S945L-CFTR and H949Y-CFTR had apparent masses of 150 kDa. The 150-kDa forms of CFTR were sensitive to endoglycosidase H digestion, indicating that these mutations interfered with maturation of the protein. Increased levels of mature CFTR (170 kDa) could be obtained for mutant H949Y when cells were grown at a lower temperature (26 degrees C) or incubated in the presence of 10% glycerol. For all mutants, the open probability (P0) of the CFTR channels was significantly altered. S945L-CFTR and G970R-CFTR showed a severe reduction in the P0, whereas the H949Y mutation doubled the P0 relative to wild-type. The changes in P0 predominantly resulted from an alteration of the mean burst durations which suggests that CL3 is involved in obtaining and/or maintaining stability of the open state. In addition, mutants S945L and G970R had current-voltage relationships that were not completely linear over the range +/-80 mV, but showed slight outward rectification. The fact that CL3 mutations can have subtle effects on channel conductance indicates that this region may be physically close to the inner mouth of the pore.

Antecedents and consequences of psychological and team empowerment in organizations: A meta-analytic review.

This paper provides meta-analytic support for an integrated model specifying the antecedents and consequences of psychological and team empowerment. Results indicate that contextual antecedent constructs representing perceived high-performance managerial practices, socio-political support, leadership, and work characteristics are each strongly related to psychological empowerment. Positive self-evaluation traits are related to psychological empowerment and are as strongly related as the contextual factors. Psychological empowerment is in turn positively associated with a broad range of employee outcomes, including job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and task and contextual performance, and is negatively associated with employee strain and turnover intentions. Team empowerment is positively related to team performance. Further, the magnitude of parallel antecedent and outcome relationships at the individual and team levels is statistically indistinguishable, demonstrating the generalizability of empowerment theory across these 2 levels of analysis. A series of analyses also demonstrates the validity of psychological empowerment as a unitary second-order construct. Hydrogen photoproduction under continuous illumination by sulfur-deprived, synchronous Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cultures

Unsynchronized Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cells subsequently deprived of sulfur produce H₂ under continuous illumination in the laboratory for 3–4 days. However, cultures grown outdoors will be exposed to day-and-night cycles that may synchronize their growth and cell division. While it is clear that only insignificant amounts of H₂ can be produced by sulfur-deprived cells during the night period, little work has been done to examine the effects of the light/dark cycles preceding sulfur deprivation on subsequent H₂ photoproduction. We show that (a) C. reinhardtii cells exhibit synchronized growth and cell division in the presence of acetate, (b) cells with the highest specific rates of H₂ photoproduction also have the highest rates of biomass accumulation, and (c) the highest rates of starch and protein degradation coincide with the highest rates of formate and acetate accumulation, but not with H₂ photoproduction. This work shows that it is possible to maximize the production of H₂ by sulfur-depriving synchronized cultures at about 4 h after the beginning of the light period.
