Bilayer graphene sheets (BLGSs) are currently receiving increasing attention. In this paper, the vibration characteristics of BLGSs are investigated using analytical and atomistic finite element approaches. Various possible scenarios, namely different geometrical configuration (armchair and zigzag), boundary conditions, and aspect ratio are considered in the present study. The dynamic characteristics of BLGS studied have shown dependence on aspect ratio and the boundary conditions. The unique vibrational properties and large stiffness of BLGS identified in the present work make them suitable candidates for manufacturing nanosensors; electromechanical resonators also will aid the nanomaterials research community to design nanodevices.  相似文献

This paper gives an overview of software-defined optical networks (SDONs). It explains the general concepts on software-defined networks (SDNs), their relationship with network function virtualization, and also about OpenFlow, which is a pioneer protocol for SDNs. It then explains the benefits and challenges of extending SDNs to multilayer optical networks, including flexible grid and elastic optical networks, and how it compares to generalized multi-protocol label switching for implementing a unified control plane. An overview on the industry and research efforts on SDON standardization and implementation is given next, to bring the reader up to speed with the current state of the art in this field. Finally, the paper outlines the benefits achieved by SDONs for network operators, and also some of the important and relevant research problems that need to be addressed.  相似文献

Attribute Allocation and Retrieval Scheme for Large-Scale Sensor Networks   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Wireless sensor network is an emerging technology that enables remote monitoring of large geographical regions. In this paper, we address the problem of distributing attributes over such a large-scale sensor network so that the cost of data retrieval is minimized. The proposed scheme is a data-centric storage scheme where the attributes are distributed over the network depending on the correlations between them. The problem addressed here is similar to the Allocation Problem of distributed databases. In this paper, we have defined the Allocation Problem in the context of sensor networks and have proposed a scheme for finding a good distribution of attributes to the sensor network. We also propose an architecture for query processing given such a distribution of attributes. We analytically determine the conditions under which the proposed architecture is beneficial and present simulation results to demonstrate the same. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to determine an allocation of attributes over a sensor network based on the correlations between attributes.  相似文献

Summary Lie's infinitesimal transformation groups, which leave the basic equations of axially symmetric problems of classical elasticity invariant, are constructed. For the case of the axisymmetric Boussinesque's problem of an elastic semi-space subjected to a point force applied normal to its surface, the invariance of boundary and boundary conditions leads to the explicit form of similarity transformations which are used to solve the problem. Expressions for the displacements and stresses derived by this approach, which is believed to be new, are found to agree with the known results.  相似文献

Fungi are of excellent value nutritionally, and of great importance to vegetarians. Edible mushrooms are excellent sources of protein, have low-fat content and are free of cholesterol. They are easily cultivable and are consumed either in fresh or processed form. Yeasts and filamentous fungi secrete a plethora of important enzymes in the growth medium together with other secondary metabolites. Most of these are hydrolytic in nature being employed in different food processing industries as well as in refinement of fodder quality. Edible filamentous fungi producing these enzymes present an added advantage for their use in food and feed. In this article these aspects will be discussed along with the results from edible mushroom Termitomyces clypeatus, producing a wide variety of hydrolytic enzymes and products, from our laboratory. It is likely that the functional understanding of different enzyme classes will provide new applications within the food industry in the future.  相似文献

A Ca(2+)-dependent sialic acid-binding protein (SABP) of human endometrium, which specifically bound to human sperm head plasma membrane in vitro, was found to increase the percentage motility and acrosome-reacted pattern of uncapacitated spermatozoa. The protein was synthesized in the endometrium and secreted into the uterine fluid. This intra-uterine factor, which is apparently advantageous in vitro in inducing human sperm capacitation, may play a significant role in promoting the post-release maturation of ejaculated spermatozoa by enhancing 45Ca uptake into spermatozoa by a pathway which is insensitive to calcium-channel blockers. However, the 45Ca uptake could be enhanced on exposure to the divalent cation ionophore A23187 and inhibited in the presence of the calmodulin inhibitor trifluoperazine. The SABP also induces an increase in intracellular Ca2+ in spermatozoa, as seen by FURA-2 AM studies. Furthermore, overlay studies show human SABP to be a Ca(2+)-binding protein. The data presented here suggest that SABP induces in-vitro sperm capacitation and the subsequent acrosome reaction by increasing intracellular Ca2+ concentration.  相似文献
