Improvement of tea leaves fermentation with Aspergillus spp. pectinase   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The pectinase enzymes isolated from Aspergillus spp., A. indicus, A. flavus and A. niveus were used for fermentation of tea leaves. The enzymes were purified and characterized. The effect of both crude enzyme preparation and purified pectinase enzymes on the improvement of tea leaf fermentation were determined in terms of theaflavin, thearubigin, high polymerized substances, total liquor colour, dry matter content and total soluble solids of the tea produced. The crude enzyme preparations obtained from ethanol precipitation were found to be more effective in improving tea leaf fermentation than the purified pectinase enzymes.  相似文献

The need to build and operate environmentally friendly plants has challenged the chemical industry to consider waste minimization or even elimination starting from the early stages of process development. A thorough waste minimization analysis requires specialized expertise and is laborious, time-consuming, expensive, and knowledge-intensive. This has caused a major technical barrier for implementing waste minimization programswithin the industry. Previously, we had reported a systematic methodology and a knowledge-based system, called ENVOPExpert, for identifying waste minimization opportunities in chemical processes. In this paper, we propose an integrated qualitative-quantitative methodology to identify waste minimization alternatives and assess their efficacy in terms of environmental impact and process economics. A qualitative analysis is first conducted to identify the sources of wastes and to propose alternatives for eliminating or minimizing them. Environmental impact of each alternative is then calculated by doing a quantitative pollutant balance. The capital expenditure required for implementing the alternative and the resulting plant operating costs are also calculated and used in the evaluation of the waste minimization alternatives. Through this, practical and cost-effective options can be identified. This methodology has been implemented as an integrated decision support system and tested using the hydrodealkylation process case study with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The interference of the oxide film in corrosion rate measurements of oxide covered metals is confirmed, and is found to limit the accuracy of measurements in all d.c. and a.c. polarization methods including impedance techniques. A new method is proposed to measure the corrosion rate in metal/oxide/electrolyte systems. It involves the use of faradaic rectification measurements in the absence of concentration polarization. The contribution of the oxide film to the measured currents and potentials are appropriately compensated and this represents a unique feature of the proposed method. Alternating current impedance values of the oxide film measured at the same frequency as that of faradaic rectification are used for this purpose.  相似文献

In-plane analysis of annular disks using the finite element method is presented. A semi-analytical, one-dimensional finite element model is developed using a Fourier series approach to account for the circumferential behaviour. Using displacement functions which are exact solutions of the two dimensional elasticity plane stress problem, the shape functions, stiffness matrices and mass matrices corresponding to the 0th, 1st and nth harmonics are derived. To show the utility of this new element, example probelms have been solved and compared with the exact solution. The present element can be readily coded into any general purpose finite element program.  相似文献

One of the contributing factors to generation of off-flavours in soy protein isolate (SPI) during storage is autoxidation of residual amounts of phospholipids present in SPI. Thus, removal of phospholipids from SPI is a likely first step to improve its flavour stability and enhanced utilisation of SPI in food products. We describe a β-cyclodextrin-based (βCD) process to remove protein-bound phospholipids and free fatty acids in SPI. Treating SPI solution (8%) with 10 mM βCD alone at pH 8.0 decreased the phospholipid content of SPI by about 36%. A greater than 99% removal of phospholipids and free fatty acids was achieved by using a combination of treatments involving sonication of the SPI solution for 5 min at 50 °C followed by treatment with phospholipase A2 and βCD. SPI prepared by this method was white in colour. The results presented here offer a process for removing residual off-flavour causing phospholipids from soy protein.  相似文献

Developed 2 admissions models to predict future academic performance of graduate management students. The 1st model was based on 40 students who were admitted and enrolled in the program and was uncorrected for curtailment. The 2nd model was developed from the total applicant population of 222 students after curtailment correction. The corrected model demonstrated higher predictive validity than the uncorrected model for 2 future classes of students. Furthermore, different predictors entered each model, affecting the beta weights, validities of predictors, and the total amount of variance explained by the models. A factor analysis and an analysis of admissions decisions offer additional support for the curtailment-corrected model in selecting students with high academic potential. A method for the preparation of high surface area coatings and its application towards fabrication of prospective composite electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution is proposed. Exploratory studies with such a composite, (Ni/LaNiO3), as a hydrogen electrode in alkaline solutions indicate that it is a more active electrocatalyst than sintered or electrodeposited nickel. The electrocatalytic properties were found to be a strong function of the deposition parameters as well as of the history of the oxide powder.  相似文献

Electrodeposition of metals from solution is usually accompanied by the simultaneous discharge of hydrogen ions or water molecules. When hydrogen is liberated at an iron/steel surface during electrodeposition, a portion of the hydrogen is absorbed by the metal surface and then diffuses into the interior. The diffused hydrogen produces some detrimental effects, such as reduction in ductility and loss in mechanical strength, leading to hydrogen embrittlement. The present paper reports investigations on hydrogen permeation measurements in zinc-manganese alloy deposition using a modified electrode clamp for easy removal and fixing of the electrode. Hydrogen permeation studies indicate that the porosity of the deposit increases in the following order:Zn-Mn(14.3%), Zn-Mn(2.4%), Zn-Mn(24.8%) and Zn-Mn(37.5%).This is in agreement with the corrosion data obtained which indicates that Zn-Mn alloy deposits with low manganese content show better performance than pure zinc deposits.  相似文献
