The 2005 Fukuoka-ken Seiho-oki earthquake caused damage to structures due to liquefaction, slope failure and strong shaking in Fukuoka City. One of the authors had conducted microzonation for liquefaction, slope failure and strong shaking about 17 years before the earthquake. After the earthquake, the authors compared the zoning map with the actual damage. The results showed that liquefied sites coincided fairly well with predicted zones in the reclaimed lands. However, they were slightly different in a big sand spit named Uminonakamichi. Failure occurred at several slopes inside the predicted areas, while damage to buildings occurred due to strong shaking along the Kego Fault. The damaged area was slightly different from the predicted area. Furthermore, a liquefaction analysis was conducted and the results of this analysis were compared with the results of microzonation in 1988. A new solid-state scanning ink jet recording technique, called slit jet recording, is proposed. This technique uses a recording head with one slitlike ink-issuing opening having a number of recording electrodes arrayed along a horizontal scanning direction. The ink is emitted from the ink-issuing opening due to the electrical potential difference between a driven recording electrode and a counterelectrode located behind the recording paper. The ink strikes the paper and forms a recording dot. Many recording electrodes can be driven simultaneously by video signals which enhance the total copy recording speed over that for conventional techniques using a single nozzle. The head of this ink jet recording apparatus is remarkably simple in construction and can be fabricated without difficulty. Improvements in reliability and maintainability can also be expected, as the simple structure of the ink-issuing opening reduces clogging and facilitates easy cleaning as compared with other equipment having a large number of nozzles. The recording principle and characteristics and ink-issuing characteristics are described, and the results of a trial recording are presented. The results show that an ISO A4 size (210 mm x 297 mm) full-color copy can be recorded in about 30 s at an 8-dot/ mm rate. 相似文献

Since the application of the Lagrange relaxation method to the unit commitment scheduling by Muckstadt in 1979, many papers using this method have been published. The greatest advantage of applying the Lagrange relaxation method for the unit commitment problem is that it can relax (ignore) each generator's output dependency caused by the demand–supply balance constraint so that a unit commitment of each generator is determined independently by dynamic programming. However, when we introduce the transmission loss into the demand–supply balance constraint, we cannot decompose the problem into the partial problems in which each generator's unit commitment is determined independently and have to take some measures to obtain an optimal schedule by the Lagrange relaxation method directly. In this paper, we present an algorithm for the unit commitment schedule using the Lagrange relaxation method for the case of taking into account transmission losses. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Researches on the unit commitment with transmission network have been reported recently. However, most of these researches mainly discussed the security constrained unit commitment, while the relationship between unit commitment and transmission losses was not considered. However, from the standpoint of operating reserve for ensuring power supply reliability, a unit commitment considering transmission losses is required. Further, under the deregulation and liberalization of the electric power industry, not only the line's security but also transmission losses are expected to play an important role in calculating the network access charge, and unit commitment taking into account transmission losses is also desired from this viewpoint. In this paper, a unit commitment approach with both transmission losses and line flow constraint is presented. Based on a heuristic iterative optimization method, first, an initial schedule is created by using a successively decommitting unit approach that is proposed in this paper. Then, we determine constraints included in the unit commitment schedule by a heuristic iterative optimization approach, in which an algorithm able to get rid of line overload by DC optimal power flow is developed. Investigations were conducted on the VFT (Very Fast Transient) surges that propagate into a 500‐kV transformer. The disconnector restriking surge and ground fault surged were discussed. It was regarded that a large part of the surge voltage was applied just at the entrance of the transformer winding for the VFT surges. Thus, an equivalent circuit that models the windings was used for the analysis. The overvoltages that appear between the first winding sections at the entrance of the transformer were computed. The following was established. (1) The overvoltage between the first winding sections becomes greater when the magnitude of the voltage change at the transformer terminal is larger. The overvoltage between the first winding sections is not affected by the magnitude of the transformer terminal voltage. (2) For the disconnectors that are not connected directly to the transformer, the voltage change at the transformer terminal is not so large. (3) In the case of a ground fault at the GIS near the transformer, the voltage change at the transformer terminal is the same as that for a disconnector directly connected to the transformer. (4) In actual GIS, the disconnector that is connected directly to the transformer is not usually used. Chemical structure of heavy oil from coal hydrogenation 1. Hydrogenation with zinc chloride catalyst
Oil product from the hydrogenolysis of a high-volatile bituminous coal was separated by solubility, fractionated by gel permeation chromotography and characterized by structural analysis. The average structural unit in the hexane-soluble, aromatic oil fraction consists of 1–3 aromatic rings with 0.3-0.5 of the ring carbons substituted by alkyl groups and oxygen containing groups. Molecular weights vary from 200 to 500. The larger molecular weight fractions have longer alkyl chains and lower carbon aromaticities. The molecules are mainly of single unit structures. The average structural units in asphaltene fractions contain from 2.5-4 aromatic rings, are of higher carbon aromaticities and contain shorter alkyl groups. The asphaltene molecules consist of two or more structural units, crosslinked together, and have molecular weights of 300–1400. The oxygen content of the fractions decreases with decreasing molecular weight. Increasing the amount of ZnCl2 catalyst during hydrogenolysis resylts in an increased yield of lower-molecular-weight material, but no change in the structural properties of the product. This is interpreted to mean that ZnCl2 is active in the scission of covalent bonds between structural units during liquefaction and that the hydrogenolysis reaction is mostly cleavage of crosslinks between structural units with minimal reaction of the units themselves. 相似文献

An addition reaction of maleic anhydride with polypropylene takes place in the presence of radical reagents or sunlight. The initial rate of the reaction was proportional to the concentration of polypropylene and maleic anhydride, and one-half power of the concentration of the radical reagents. The increase in the temperature from 80 to 120°C increased the rate of the reaction and di-cumyl peroxide was effective as a radical reagent for this reaction. Ionic crosslinked rubber-like polymers were obtained from the reaction of maleic polypropylene with some alkali metal compounds. They showed the characteristic absorption band due to ? This paper describes an unusual behavior detection system based on an omnidirectional vision sensor, as one of the important elements in realizing “Sensing and Robotic Support Rooms” for elderly people. Such support rooms are expected to be further developed in the future with advanced abilities to automatically recognize elderly people's actions and behavior patterns, to detect unusual patterns by using sensors, and to support their daily motions by using robotic manipulator control systems. The proposed monitoring system using an omnidirectional vision sensor automatically learns daily behavior patterns and detects unusual behavior patterns and actions by using the Bayesian network approach. The Bayesian network is constructed by using image feature values such as area and center‐of‐gravity values extracted from a captured image sequence, and the respective behavior patterns are represented as conditional probabilities. Unusual behavior patterns can be automatically detected on the basis of the low generation probability values. Experiments based on the investigation of elderly people's typical daily behavior patterns have shown the effectiveness of the proposed system. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
