Textured tin dioxide films for gas recognition microsystems

We have studied the microstructure, electrical properties, and gas sensor characteristics of thin tin dioxide (SnO₂) films obtained by RF magnetron sputtering of an oxide target. The synthesized films are composed of crystalline rods with a diameter of 10–60 nm and a length of up to 1000 nm oriented perpendicularly to the substrate plane. This morphology facilitates the access of gas molecules to the side surfaces of crystallites. Use of such SnO₂ films in a multisensor microsystem expanded the spectrum of recognized gases.     

Et3GeN(SiMe3)2 and Et3SnN(SiMe3)2: New precursors for chemical vapor deposition processes

We have synthesized the germanium- and tin-containing organosilicon compounds Et₃GeN(SiMe₃)₂ and Et₃SnN(SiMe₃)₂ as new precursors for the preparation of materials by chemical vapor deposition. The compounds were characterized by NMR, IR and UV spectroscopies and thermal analysis. Using vapor pressure measurements, we obtained temperature dependences of their saturated vapor pressure. We assessed their thermal stability and calculated the thermodynamic characteristics of vaporization of the organosilicon compounds.     

The Model Calculation of the Phase (P-T) Diagram for Fullerene C60

A detailed theoretical study of the phase (P-T) diagram of fullerene C₆₀ is carried out using both the thermodynamic principles and the calculated model based on the rigid molecules interacting via the (n-m) potential model.

Detection probability criterion on the path for mobile object control problem in conflict environment

A problem to design probabilistic optimality criterion for mobile object in conflict environment is considered. Probability of the event that the object would not be detected during motion along the path is represented as a certain functional of the path. The relationship between detection probability of the object and its traveling time along the path is derived. Optimal traveling time along the path is evaluated.     

Development of Criteria for Ranging Multiparameter Alternatives

New criteria have been developed for ranging alternatives, taking into account both values of parameter estimates and their spread, and possessing a higher sensitivity compared with those presently existing.     

Luminescence of gadolinium garnet single crystals excited by synchrotron radiation

Single crystals of gadolinium-containing garnets with the compositions Gd₃Ga₅O₁₂, Gd₃(Sc,Ga)₅O₁₂:Cr, and (Gd,Ca)₃(Mg,Zr,Ga)₅O₁₂ were grown using the Czochralski technique, and their luminescence was studied under the conditions of excitation with “white” synchrotron radiation. The observed differences in the luminescence spectra are discussed.
