In this paper, a new ACR (automatic current regulator) scheme is introduced for brushless DC motors. It consists of a model closely resembling the motor and PWM inverter, an assumed rising pattern of the current, and a parameter estimation. Using the control scheme, the mean value of the motor current is kept at the reference current, and the transient current of the motor is kept equal to the rising pattern. For the disturbance, because of DC-line voltage change, the proportional path from the error to the duty cycle of the PWM signal stabilizes the ACR. The North Carolina Research and Education Network (NC-REN), formerly known as CONCERT, is an existing video and data network, owned and operated by MCNC. NC-REN's purpose has been to provide network-based support for collaboration in the research community within the state since 1985. The first major application planned for the North Carolina Information Highway (NCIH) is an interactive video distance learning system. A secondary application proposed is the use of Switched Multimegabit Data Service (SMDS) as a means of providing data communications services over NCIH. The user community currently supported by NC-REN has come to expect high levels of service, reliability, interoperability and performance for data and video communications. MCNC is committed to see that NC-REN users receive service that is equal to or better than what is currently provided by the existing network. When an object is held and wielded, a time-invariant quantity of the wielding dynamics is the inertia tensor Iij. Examination of Iij as a function of different locations at which a cylindrical object is grasped revealed that the off-diagonal components of Iij, the products of inertia, related most systematically to grip position. In 3 experiments, Ss wielded an occluded rod held at an intermediate point along its length and reproduced, with the other hand, the felt grip position on a visible rod. In Exp 1, the wielded rods were homogeneous; in Exps 2 and 3, weights were added on either side of the grasp, with different manners of grasp contrasted in Exp 3. In all 3 experiments, perceived hand position was predicted by Iij. Discussion is focused on the role of Iij's eigenvalues in perceiving the magnitudes of objects and Iij's eigenvectors in perceiving hand–object relations (e.g., position of grasp). Gate oxide damage by plasma processing was evaluated using structures with various antenna lengths. The gate oxide damage by plasma processing was found to be monitored quantitatively by measuring the charge to breakdown, QBD. From the QBD measurements, we have confirmed that the degradation occurs during overetching, not in main etching. Plasma current was calculated from the decrease of QBD during the etching. The breakdown spot in the gate oxide was detected by photon emission and TEM. The LOCOS structure plays an important role for the degradation by plasma damage. The problem of fault detection in general combinational circuits is NP-complete. The only previous result on identifying easily testable circuits is due to Fujiwara who gave a polynomial time algorithm for detecting any single stuck fault inK-bounded circuits. Such circuits may only contain logic blocks with no more thanK input lines and the blocks are so connected that there is no reconvergent fanout among them. We introduce a new class of combinational circuits called the (k, K)-circuits and present a polynomial time algorithm to detect any single or multiple stuck fault in such circuits. We represent the circuit as an undirected graphG with a vertex for each gate and an edge between a pair of vertices whenever the corresponding gates have a connection. For a (k, K)-circuit,G is a subgraph of ak-tree, which, by definition, cannot have a clique of size greater thank+1. Basically, this is a restriction on gate interconnections rather than on the function of gates comprising the circuit. The (k, K)-circuits are a generalization of Fujiwara'sK-bounded circuits. Using the bidirectional neural network model of the circuit and the energy function minimization formulation of the fault detection problem, we present a test generation algorithm for single and multiple faults in (k, K)-circuits. Spread-spectrum modulation can be used in a radio system to reduce the likelihood of intercept, as well as providing some protection against jamming and interference. These antijam, anti-interference and low-probability-of-intercept properties are highly desirable in secured communication systems. In addition, spread-spectrum techniques have been proposed to combat spectral congestion by improving the efficiency of spectrum utilisation. Spread-spectrum techniques are also widely used in ranging systems and in local-area networks (LANs) or other multiple-access systems. TPO is a major antigen corresponding to thyroid-microsomal autoantibodies. Anti-TPO autoantibodies are very important to diagnose autoimmune thyroid disease and to estimate its clinical course. An EIA for measuring anti-TPO autoantibodies (rhTPO-EIA) was developed using recombinant human TPO expressed in CHO cells and was compared with MCHA generally used in routine laboratory work. Sera from patients with various disorders were measured for their anti-TPO autoantibodies. Chronic thyroiditis and Graves' disease were highly positive, while thyroid cancer, adenoma, SLE, and RA were low in their positivity. The positive rate of anti-TPO autoantibodies were compatible with those of previous reports of each disorder. In the comparison between rhTPO-EIA and MCHA, the correlation coefficient was 0.486. Following absorption with thyroglobulin, sera were measured again and as a result, the correlation coefficient increased to 0.723. Therefore, MCHA was thought to be influenced in the presence of anti-thyroglobulin autoantibodies. The characteristics of TPO antigen and anti-TPO autoantibodies were also summarized. 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Highly sulfated glycosaminoglycans (GAG) have been demonstrated in every form of amyloid examined to date. Based on temporal studies in murine amyloidogenesis heparan sulfate is deposited coincidentally with the amyloid protein. Our purpose was to follow in vivo GAG synthesis by monitoring 35SO4 incorporation during amyloidogenesis. Several necessary previously unexamined nonamyloidogenic controls were also examined. METHODS: Murine splenic amyloid was induced with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and amyloid enhancing factor (AEF). Splenic GAG synthesis was monitored by 35SO4 incorporation. Corrections were made for alterations in SO4 metabolism which occur during inflammation. RESULTS: All animals with an inflammatory reaction had a marked increase in GAG synthesis. Those animals receiving AEF, or AEF+LPS, had a significant increase in heparan sulfate synthesis. This was particularly profound in the group developing amyloid (i.e., AEF+LPS). CONCLUSION: Our results indicate that critical factors in amyloid deposition include quantitative as well as qualitative changes that take place in tissue GAG synthesis. A distinct metabolic effect of AEF is demonstrated for the first time. 相似文献

Pyridine nucleotide transhydrogenase (EC 1.6.1.1) from Escherichia coli was investigated with respect to the role of glutamic and aspartic acid residues reactive to N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCCD) and potentially involved in the proton-pumping mechanism of the enzyme. The E. coli transhydrogenase consists of an alpha (510 residues) and a beta (462 residues) subunit. DCCD reacts with the enzyme to inhibit catalytic activity and proton pumping. This reagent modifies Asp alpha 232, Glu alpha 238, and Glu alpha 240 as well as amino acid residue(s) in the beta subunit. Using the cloned and overexpressed E. coli transhydrogenase genes (Clarke, D. M., and Bragg, P. D. (1985) J. Bacteriol. 162, 367-373), Asp alpha 232 and Glu alpha 238 were replaced independently by site-specific mutagenesis. In addition, Asp alpha 232, Glu alpha 238, and Glu alpha 240 were replaced to generate triple mutants. The specific catalytic activities of the mutant transhydrogenases alpha D232N, alpha D232E, alpha D232K, alpha D232H, alpha E238K, and alpha E238Q as well as of the triple mutants alpha D232N, alpha E238Q, alpha E240Q and alpha D232H, alpha E238Q, alpha E240Q were in the range of 40-90% of the wild-type activity. Proton-pumping activity was present in all mutants. Examination of the extent of subunit modification by [14C]DCCD revealed that the label was still incorporated into both alpha and beta subunits in the Asp alpha 232 mutants, but that the alpha subunit was not labeled in the triple mutants. Catalytic and proton-pumping activities were nearly insensitive to DCCD in the triple mutants. This suggests that loss of catalytic and proton-pumping activities is associated with modification of the aspartic and glutamic acid residues of the alpha subunit. In the presence of the substrate NADPH, the rate of modification of the beta subunit by [14C]DCCD was increased, and there was a greater extent of enzyme inactivation. By contrast, NADH and 3-acetylpyridine-NAD+ protected the catalytic activity of the transhydrogenase from inhibition by DCCD. The protection was particularly marked in the E238Q and E238K mutants. It is concluded that the Asp alpha 232, Glu alpha 238, and Glu alpha 240 residues are not essential for catalytic activity or proton pumping. The inactivation by DCCD is likely due to the introduction of a sterically hindering group that reacts with the identified acidic residues close to the NAD(H)-binding site. 相似文献
