In order to demonstrate the practicality of high speed radio LANs, such as HIPERLAN, a hardware demonstrator has been built. To overcome the inter-symbol interference caused by the dispersive nature of the indoor radio channel, a decision feedback equaliser has been included in the system. No central synchronisation is provided in a network and a node must be able to derive all synchronisation from a received packet. This paper describes all of the signal processing hardware built for the demonstrator. The demonstrator is not standards compliant but the physical layer parameters are very similar and the signal processing required in HIPERLAN equipment will be very similar to that in the demonstrator. 相似文献

A general approach to the transmission loss analysis of resonant-cavity combiners of the type used in cellular and in other mobile radio systems is described. A simple closed-form solution is derived for a particular type of combiner in which the cavities are connected in a star configuration via transmission lines that are odd multiples of quarter-wavelength long at the center frequency. This is an exact solution at the center of the combiner band in which one cavity is tuned to this frequency and other cavities are tuned symmetrically in pairs about this frequency. For narrow-band combiners, such as those used in cellular systems, the transmission loss obtained from this solution should be accurate for the entire band. The analysis is valid over wide ranges of combiner parameters: loaded and unloaded Q's of cavities, frequency spacings, and the number of ways it is combined. Light detection and ranging (LIDAR) systems can be used to provide wind inflow information to a wind turbine controller before the wind reaches the turbine. Both fatigue and extreme load reduction are possible as a result; in this research, we propose a LIDAR‐based controller designed to prevent emergency shutdowns caused by rotor overspeed. This switching controller consists of a disturbance accommodating control (DAC)‐based baseline controller and a different DAC linearized about a reduced generator speed for extreme events, also referred to as an extreme event controller. Switching between the controllers was performed using linear interpolation over various transition times, depending on how early the extreme event could be detected. If a gust of wind is detected using LIDAR measurements evaluated by a one‐sided cumulative summation algorithm, a relatively long transition time can be used. Switching can also be based on a large output estimation error, εy, in which case the transition time is shorter. Once the extreme event passed, control is switched from the extreme event controller back to the baseline DAC. This switching controller resulted in fewer overspeeds when compared with the modified baseline controller, which is a gain scheduled DAC. This study evaluates the effects of storage conditions on physical and chemical properties of biomass fast pyrolysis oils exposed to elevated temperatures over extended periods of time. It was performed on oak pyrolysis oil generated in the NREL vortex reactor. Oil samples were stored at three temperatures: 37, 60 and 90°C in glass vessels. Properties of the oils were measured after hours of storage at 90°C, and after days or weeks at lower temperatures. Chemical changes in the oils were measured using GPC (molecular weight distribution) and FTIR spectroscopy. The oil remained a single phase throughout the studied conditions. Its pH was not affected by storage. The water content, viscosity and molecular weight of the oil increased with the time and temperature of storage. First-order reaction kinetics were successfully used to predict changes in molecular weight of the stored oil. FTIR provided evidence that etherification or esterification are mechanisms for condensation of the oil during storage. 相似文献

Van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures composing of organic molecules with inorganic 2D crystals open the door to fabricate various promising hybrid devices. Here, a fully ordered organic self-assembled monolayer (SAM) to construct hybrid organic–inorganic vdW heterojunction phototransistors for highly sensitive light detection is used. The heterojunctions, formed by layering MoS2 monolayer crystals onto organic [12-(benzo[b]benzo[4,5]thieno[2,3-d]thiophen-2-yl)dodecyl)]phosphonic acid SAM, are characterized by Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopy as well as Kelvin probe force microscopy. Remarkably, this vdW heterojunction transistor exhibits a superior photoresponsivity of 475 A W−1 and enhanced external quantum efficiency of 1.45 × 105%, as well as an extremely low dark photocurrent in the pA range. This work demonstrates that hybridizing SAM with 2D materials can be a promising strategy for fabricating diversified optoelectronic devices with unique properties. 相似文献

A low-IF fully integrated tuner for DBS satellite TV applications has been realized in 0.13-mum CMOS. A wideband ring oscillator-based frequency synthesizer having a large frequency step was used to downconvert a cluster of channels to a sliding low-IF frequency, while the second downconversion to baseband was performed in the digital domain. Eliminating the inductors and using a small-area oscillator has reduced both the parasitic magnetic and substrate coupling, allowing single-chip integration of the sensitive tuner and the noisy digital demodulator. A significant reduction in die area was achieved by using a single oscillator to cover the entire satellite TV spectrum, while a noise attenuator was cascaded with the PLL passive loop filter to reduce the equivalent VCO tuning gain. This improves PLL noise and spur performance and allows the on-chip integration of the loop filter. The digital low-IF tuner allows the use of a discrete step AGC loop that results in lower noise figure and higher linearity. Automatic signal path gain and bandwidth digital calibration was realized using replica ring oscillators. Tuner specifications include: 90 dB gain range, 10 dB noise figure at max gain, +25dBm IIP3 at min gain, 1.3deg rms integrated phase noise, <-50dBc spurs, 0.5-W power consumption from dual 1.8/3.3-V supplies, and 1.8times1.2 mm2 die area 相似文献

In this paper, we demonstrate all-optical nonlinear switching in compact GaAs-AlGaAs microring resonators at the 1.55-μm wavelength. Switching is accomplished in the pump-and-probe configuration in which the pump-and-probe signals are tuned to different resonance wavelengths of the microring. Refractive index change in the microring due to free carriers generated by two photon absorption is used to switch the probe beam in and out of resonance. Measured transient responses of the pump and probe through the microring show good agreement with theoretical predictions based on nonlinear pump-probe interaction due to two photon absorption 相似文献
