Production scheduling involves all activities of building production schedules, including coordinating and assigning activities to each person, group of people, or machine and arranging work orders in each workplace. Production scheduling must solve all problems such as minimizing customer wait time, storage costs, and production time; and effectively using the enterprise’s human resources. This paper studies the application of flexible job shop modelling on scheduling a woven labelling process. The labelling process includes several steps which are handled in different work-stations. Each workstation is also comprised of several identical parallel machines. In this study, job splitting is allowed so that the power of work stations can be utilized better. The final objective is to minimize the total completion time of all jobs. The results show a significant improvement since the new planning may save more than 60% of lead time compared to the current schedule. The contribution of this research is to propose a flexible job shop model for scheduling a woven labelling process. The proposed approach can also be applied to support complex production scheduling processes under fuzzy environments in different industries. A practical case study demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed model. 相似文献

To make media resources a prime citizen on the Web, we have to go beyond simply replicating digital media files. The Web is based on hyperlinks between Web resources, and that includes hyperlinking out of resources (e.g., from a word or an image within a Web page) as well as hyperlinking into resources (e.g., fragment URIs into Web pages). To turn video and audio into hypervideo and hyperaudio, we need to enable hyperlinking into and out of them. The W3C Media Fragments Working Group is taking on the challenge to further embrace W3C??s mission to lead the World Wide Web to its full potential by developing a Media Fragment protocol and guidelines that ensure the long-term growth of the Web. The major contribution of this paper is the introduction of Media Fragments as a media-format independent, standard means of addressing media resources using URIs. Moreover, we explain how the HTTP protocol can be used and extended to serve Media Fragments and what the impact is for current Web-enabled media formats. 相似文献

For some years now, the Nederlandse Taalunie (Dutch Language Union) has been active in promoting the development of human
language technology (HLT) applications for speakers of Dutch with communicative disabilities. The reason is that HLT products
and services may enable them to improve their communication skills and verbal autonomy. We sought to identify a minimum common
set of HLT resources that is required to develop tools for a wide range of communication disabilities. In order to reach this
goal, we investigated the specific needs of communicatively disabled people and related these needs to the underlying HLT
software components. By analysing the availability and quality of these essential HLT resources, we were able to identify
which of the crucial elements need further research and development to become usable for developing applications for communicatively
disabled speakers of Dutch. The results obtained in the current survey can be used to inform policy institutions on how they
can stimulate the development of HLT resources for this target group. In the current survey results were obtained for Dutch,

New measurements of second sound attenuation in bulk flowing He II are reported which extend to a region of higher Reynolds number. An expression for the attenuation explicitly containing the quantum vortex line density is developed which allows comparison with vortex line density data taken by other means. A bellows driven experimental apparatus is used to produce bulk flow velocities of 0 to 1 m/sec in a channel of 4.064 mm square internal cross section. Second sound pulses are produced by applying a square voltage pulse 200 s width and variable height to a strain gauge heater. The second sound pulses are detected with thin film sensors mounted 56 and 119 mm downstream. The velocity-dependent attenuation, measured as a function of bulk flow velocity at 1.5, 1.8, and 2.0 K, is compared with data from other researchers. The attenuation, and thus the vortex line density, appears to follow a gradual transition from laminar to turbulent behavior. Current theories do not account for the presence of quantized vortices in bulk flowing He II, where (v

In this paper we introduce a new application of the sevenpinhole (7P) collimator: tomographic imaging of the thyroid. The collimator design has been reoptimized for this particular application by diminishing the distance from the collimator plate to the crystal and by choosing a smaller pinhole diameter. To reconstruct thyroid images from the two-dimensional projection data we use a method which we developed for 7P tomographic imaging of the heart [1]. Phantom experiments and patient studies demonstrate that this new device is capable of producing tomographic images of good quality and high resolution. In this paper, we discuss the applicability of a time-coded aperture system especially designed for thyroid tomography on the basis of phantom experiments. Our studies show that 1) the quality of the reconstructions is high (e.g., a cold spot of 6 mm diameter in a thyroid phantom can easily be detected), and 2) the reconstruction can be carried out in less than 11 min on a standard 16 bit minicomputer (HP1000). The thermal stability of polymers is a main issue when used as friction elements under dry sliding. Cast polyamide grades processed with either natrium or magnesium catalysors are slid on a small-scale and a large-scale test configuration to reveal the effect of softening or degradation on the sliding stability and to investigate possibilities for extrapolation of friction and wear rates between both testing scales. The combination of softening and afterwards transition into the glassy state is detrimental for the sliding stability of natrium catalysed polyamides, characterised by heavy noise during sliding. A transfer film formed under continuous softening also provides high friction. Melting during initial sliding is necessary for stabilisation in both friction and wear, and eventual softening of a molten film near the end of the test then not deteriorates the sliding stability. Softening of magnesium catalysed polyamides is favourable for the formation of a coherent transfer film resulting in more stable sliding than natrium catalysed polyamides. The differences in softening mechanisms of both polyamide grades is correlated to structural changes investigated by thermal analysis and Raman spectroscopy: the γ crystalline structure prevails in magnesium catalysed samples and the α crystalline structure is predominant in natrium catalysed samples. For internal oil lubricated polyamides, a time dependent degradation of the polyamide bulk deteriorates the supply of internal oil lubricant to the sliding interface, resulting in high friction and wear under overload conditions. As the degradation mechanisms during sliding are strongly correlated to the test set-up, extrapolation is only possible for friction in a limited application range, while wear rates cannot be extrapolated. 相似文献

The shortening of fallow period in several areas in tropical Africa has reduced soil fertility and exposed soils to erosion and run-off. Fertilizer application and crop conservation practices are needeed to sustain high crop yield and to conserve the natural resource base for upland crop production in the continent. Field trials were carried out to evaluate the effect of fertilizer application and soil and crop residues management practices on yield of maize (Zea mays L.) planted on a Plinthudult soil at Bertoua, Eastern Cameroon. Maize yields increased significantly with nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer application. Under the rainfall pattern prevailing in the area, the amount of nitrogen required for maximum yield was higher in the second season. On the other hand, the amount of phosphorus required for maximum yield appeared to decrease with time. The burning of crop residues and weeds prior to planting together with no-till practive gave higher yield of maize than other soil and crop residues management practices. 相似文献
