Zusammenfassung Kakao-Aroma wurde mit Hilfe der Destillation unter Hochvakuum an roher Kakaobutter freigemacht. Dieses Aroma wurde mit Hilfe der Gaschromatographie in viele Komponenten getrennt, von danen 12 identifiziert werden konnten     

Acoustic-surface-wave recirculating memory

An acoustic-surface-wave memory is described, operating at a bit rate of 220 MHz and storage capacity of 1280 bit per recirculation loop. The transducers are coded using orthogonal pairs of Golay complementary sequences to obtain pulse-in pulse-out behaviour. The recirculation electronics uses standard commercial logic for both the amplifier and the WRITE, READ, INHIBIT and RECLOCKING functions.

A practitioner should be aware of the most important items regarding feed and water supply that may by a factor in assessing problems on large commercial units or in fancy breeding. A breif introduction on the function of the digestive tract precedes a discussion of the main causes of nutritional disorders which are frequently lethal. The specific mechanism of recirculation (caecotrophy) causing increased vulnerability to variations in the texture of feeds is stressed. Severe intestinal malfunction is readily induced by contaminated and spoiled feed and/or drinking water. These effects are probably underestimated in comparison with specific diseases. Data on nutritional requirements are also presented to the extent to which they are relevant in this context.     

Mode coupling through wall losses in a waveguide

The differential equations for the waveguide modes are utilised to investigate the coupling effects of a low wall impedance Zs, on the modes. Particular attention is given to the case of two degenerate modes.     

Vibrational and electronic spectra and crystal structure of cubic Na3NbO4

The infrared, Raman and luminescence spectra of cubic Na₃NbO₄ are reported. From this we conclude that the structure is that of rocksalt with a more or less disordered distribution of the Na⁺ and Nb⁵⁺ ions among the cation sites.     

The impact of mental fatigue on exploration in a complex computer task: rigidity and loss of systematic strategies

We investigated the impact of mental fatigue on exploration in a complex computer task. The exploration behavior of participants who underwent a fatigue manipulation (N = 36) was compared with that of a control (nonfatigued) group (N = 32). A distinction was also made between participants with high or low levels of general computer experience. Results showed that fatigued participants used significantly less systematic exploration and made more errors than did nonfatigued participants. Fatigued participants with low computer experience also showed significantly more rigid behavior than did the other participants. No differences were found on the number of subtasks solved. Compared with low-experience participants, highly experienced participants showed significantly more systematic exploration, less unsystematic trial and error, solved more subtasks, and made fewer errors (marginally significant p = .056). Findings were interpreted as the result of reduced task engagement under fatigue and reduced involvement of executive control on behavior. Actual or potential applications of this research include guidelines to prevent detrimental effects of mental fatigue on exploration behavior.     

Ray tracing and refraction in the modified US1976 atmosphere

A new and flexible ray-tracing procedure for calculating astronomical refraction is outlined and applied to the US1976 standard atmosphere. This atmosphere is generalized to allow for a free choice of the temperature and pressure at sea level, and in this form it has been named the modified US1976 (MUSA76) atmosphere. Analytical expressions and numerical procedures are presented for calculating dry-air refractions and for the water-vapor correction. Results for all apparent altitudes are presented and compared with The Star Almanac for Land Surveyors (1951), The Nautical Almanac (1958), and the Pulkovo tables (Refraction Tables of the Pulkovo Observatory, 1985). Dependences on sea-level pressure, temperature, and temperature gradient and on humidity are discussed.
