This paper describes a lookup-table (LUT)-based digital predistortion system usable for enhanced data for global system for mobile evolution (EDGE) handset transmitters. The system is memoryless and capable of improving average efficiency and performance in terms of the leakage power at offset frequencies and error vector magnitude. The obtainable efficiency at maximum linear output power is comparable, but at backoffs superior to commercial EDGE power amplifiers (PAs). Minimum system requirements on word length and LUT size have been investigated, which shows that a LUT having approximately 500 coefficients and a system word length of 13 bits are sufficient for EDGE. The proposed system is simple compared to basestation implementations comprising PA memory compensation and can be easily implemented in handsets in order to improve the overall system performance. The phosphorus requirements for dairy heifers (0.20–0.35%) and endogenous concentrations (0.20–35%) of P in feeds fed to dairy heifers are similar, suggesting that the need for supplemental P in dairy heifer diets may be minimal. Because long-term P feeding studies on dairy heifers are unavailable, 183 Holstein heifers and 182 backcross Holstein × Jersey heifers were offered diets with (SP = 0.40% of dry matter) and without (NP = 0.30% of dry matter) supplemental P from 4 to 22 mo of age in a replicated pen design. Forty-eight pens of 8 heifers each were split evenly by breed and treatment group. Heifers were evaluated for body weight (BW), external bone/frame growth, dystocia, calf BW, reproductive efficiency, and first-lactation performance. Growth phase data were analyzed using pen-based statistical models, and lactation data were analyzed using mixed linear models with effects of season of birth, age of dam, heifer pen, sire, sire birth year, and days in milk. Heifers fed NP had similar average daily gain from 170 to 410 and from 410 to 650 d of age compared with heifers fed SP. At 22 mo of age, heifers fed NP did not differ in BW, hip height, hip width, body length, heart girth, cannon bone circumference, or pelvic area compared with heifers fed SP. Blood P concentrations between heifers fed SP or NP did not differ at 8 or 18 mo of age, and heifers fed SP excreted more P (29.2 vs. 24.2 g/d) than heifers fed NP. As heifers, services per conception and age at pregnancy were not different between heifers fed NP or SP. At parturition, heifers fed NP or SP had similar dystocia scores and calves were similar in BW. Complete first-lactation data (305 d) were available for 333 primiparous cows, and cows fed NP as heifers produced similar milk, fat, and protein compared with cows fed SP as heifers. Days open, days in milk at first breeding, and services per conception also were similar for primiparous cows fed NP or SP as heifers. No growth, reproductive, or lactation benefit was found by feeding dairy heifers diets containing 0.40% P compared with 0.30% P. Furthermore, P supplemented to SP heifers was simply excreted in the feces and not retained.  相似文献

The cell parameters of the ferroelastic and ferroelectric phase of Pb3V2O8 (T < 262 K) have been determined by very accurate X-ray powder diffractometry ; at 77 K, a = 7.460 (1) A?, b = 6.191 (1) A?, c = 9.348 (1) A? and β = 116.63 (1) A?. This monoclinic cell is characterized by Z = 2 and the space group is A2. Thermal expansion tensors have been measured versus temperature for the three phases α (T < 262K), β (262K < T < 360 K) and γ (T > 360 K). The intermediate phase β is characterized by an important thermal expansion anisotropy and its molecular volume is higher than that of the two other phases α and γ.  相似文献

A hybrid oscillator at 1.9805 GHz using acoustic surface transverse wave (STW) delay lines operating at the third harmonic as the frequency controlling element is discussed. The STW delay lines were fabricated on 37.5°-rotated Y-cut quartz substrates with a photolithographic technique. A very thin metallization (25 nm) was used to obtain low insertion loss. A split isolated electrode design was used for the transducers. The Q-value and the untuned insertion loss of the STW filter were 3400 and 21 dB, respectively. The phase noise and temperature stability of the oscillator were characterized. At a power output of 6.5 dBm a single-sideband phase noise-to-carrier ratio of -100 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz was attained  相似文献

The EEG represents brain processing under diverse physiological conditions. A complete system involving acquisition and quantitation of this important information about brain function is described. The time-domain EEG and other biological signals are obtained using a multichannel PAM/FM biotelemeter mounted on the head of the experimental animal. This data is transmitted, demodulated and recorded by electronic recording techniques. A computer-based EEG analysis system is described for acquiring the primary data and transforming it into the frequency domain using Fourier methods. The computing system is developed to semi-automatically signal process about 4 h of eight channel EEG records. Data compression by plotting in a quasi-three-dimensional spectral profile allows visual correlations of pattern features to drug manipulations, etc. The software programs are briefly described for each step in signal processing. The feasibility of the complete system approach is demonstrated using biotelemetry to acquire low voltage EEG signals without behavioral distortions or introduction of artifacts by cables.  相似文献

Two cases of radiation enteritis and small bowel obstruction are reported following supervoltage radiation therapy for carcinoma of the prostate. The mechanisms of radiation injury to the small bowel and contributing factors are discussed. It is suggested that lymph node staging procedures for carcinoma of the prostate be done extraperitoneally in order to avoid the enhanced sensitivity of small bowel to radiation injury following transperitoneal procedures.  相似文献

Our previous studies have established that a cell-surface 25-kDa elastin-binding protein of Staphylococcus aureus (EbpS) mediates binding of this pathogen to the extracellular matrix protein elastin. Results from binding assays examining the activity of various EbpS fragments suggested that the elastin recognition domain is contained within the first 59 amino acids. In this report, we have used functional analyses with synthetic peptides and recombinant truncated forms of EbpS to localize the elastin binding domain to a 21-amino acid region contained within residues 14-34 of EbpS. Further evidence for the importance of this domain was obtained by demonstrating that the inhibitory activity of anti-EbpS antibodies on staphylococcal elastin binding was neutralized when these antibodies were pre-absorbed with a truncated recombinant EbpS construct containing residues 1-34. Overlapping synthetic peptides corresponding to EbpS residues 14-36 were then generated and tested for elastin binding activity to define further the elastin binding domain, and results from these studies showed that sequences spanning amino acids Gln14-Asp23, Asp17-Asp23, and Thr18-Glu34 inhibit binding of Staphylococcus aureus to elastin. Our analyses indicate that the hexameric sequence Thr18-Asn-Ser-His-Gln-Asp23 is the minimal sequence common to all active synthetic peptides, proteolytic fragments, and recombinant constructs of EbpS. Furthermore, substitution of Asp23 with Asn abrogated the blocking activity of the synthetic peptides, demonstrating the requirement for a charged amino acid at this location. The composite data indicate that staphylococcal elastin binding is mediated by a discrete domain defined by short peptide sequences in the amino-terminal extracellular region of EbpS.  相似文献

Immunogenic peptides containing epitopes of the gp120 C4 and V3 regions from human immunodeficiency virus strains MN and EV91 have been studied by nuclear magnetic resonance and molecular modeling and used as immunogens in rhesus monkeys. The results, combined with those for other peptides, suggest a correlation between solution conformation and immunologic cross-reactivity.  相似文献
