A broadband access system using subcarrier multiplexing on optical fibre and asymmetric digital subscriber lines (ADSL) or very high‐speed digital subscriber lines (VDSL) on unshielded twisted‐pair is proposed to provide broadband access. In this hybrid‐fibre/twisted‐pair (HFTP) system, the digital multiplexing/demultiplexing process is moved back to the central office by using subcarrier multiplexing for fibre transmission. Instead of installing in remote node, ADSL/VDSL transceivers are installed at the central office to greatly reduce the remote node complexity. The local node simply down‐converts the subcarrier multiplexed ADSL/VDSL signal to the baseband, suitable to send directly into the twisted‐pair. The reduction of complexity could result in a lower initial installation cost, especially for a low service penetration rate. Copyright © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

采用二维TMA Medici模拟软件对SOI结构的串扰特性进行了分析.模拟发现随着频率的增加,SOI的埋氧化物对串扰噪声几乎不起隔离作用,同时,连接SOI结构的背衬底可以在很大程度上减小串扰的影响.还对减少串扰的沟槽隔离工艺、保护环及差分结构的有效性进行了比较分析,对一些外部寄生参数对串扰的影响也进行了研究.并给出了SOI结构厚膜和薄膜结构体掺杂浓度对噪声耦合的影响,所得到的结果对设计低噪声耦合的SOI数模混合集成电路具有指导性的作用.  相似文献

Theoretical and experimental investigations on a double coupler amplified recirculating delay line (ARDL) microwave photonic bandpass filter are presented. These show that the system involves both coherent and incoherent summation of optical signals. This enables a higher order filter transfer function to be realized, which results in a high-performance frequency response that cannot be achieved by the conventional single coupler ARDL structure. Experimental results are presented that demonstrate a sharp, high skirt selectivity and high stopband rejection level bandpass filter response.  相似文献

The transmission effect of a dielectric shell on electromagnetic radiation is analyzed by a modal cylindrical-wave spectrum technique. This method takes into consideration the curvature effect, which is generally ignored in classical approaches such as the ray method and the plane-wave spectrum analysis. Survival of tissue engineered constructs after implantation depends on proper vascularization. The differentiation of endothelial cells into mature microvasculature requires dynamic interactions between cells, scaffold, and growth factors, which are difficult to recapitulate in artificial systems. Previously, photocrosslinked poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) hydrogels displaying collagen mimetic peptides (CMPs), dubbed PEGDA‐CMP, that can be further conjugated with bioactive molecules via CMP‐CMP triple helix hybridization were reported. Here, it is shown that a bifunctional peptide featuring pro‐angiogenic domain mimicking vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and a collagen mimetic domain that can fold into a triple helix conformation can hybridize with CMP side chains of the PEGDA‐CMP hydrogel, which results in presentation of insoluble VEGF‐like signals to endothelial cells. Presentation of VEGF‐like signals on the surface of micropatterned scaffolds in this way transforms cells from a quiescent state to elongated and aligned phenotype suggesting that this system could be used to engineer organized microvasculature. It is also shown that the pro‐angiogenic peptide, when applied topically in combination with modified dextran/PEGDA hydrogels, can enhance neovascularization of burn wounds in mice demonstrating the potential clinical use of CMP‐mediated matrix‐bound bioactive molecules for dermal injuries.  相似文献

We report the fabrication of benzocyclobutene strip optical waveguides and the measurement of their birefringence properties. To take into account the stress-induced birefringence in the waveguide, we generalize the formulas reported previously for the analysis of strip waveguides. Our experimental results are shown to agree closely with the theoretical calculation. The condition for achieving zero modal birefringence by control of the aspect ratio of the strip of the waveguide is highlighted. The dependence of the birefringence in the waveguides on the temperature is also measured and discussed.  相似文献

Network Topology Inference Based on End-to-End Measurements   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We consider using traceroute-like end-to-end measurement to infer the underlay topology for a group of hosts. One major issue is the measurement cost. Given N hosts in an asymmetric network without anonymous routers, traditionally full N(N-1) traceroutes are needed to determine the underlay topology. We investigate how to efficiently infer an underlay topology with low measurement cost, and propose a heuristic called Max-Delta. In the heuristic, a server selects appropriate host-pairs to measure in each iteration so as to reveal the most undiscovered information on the underlay. We further observe that the presence of anonymous routers significantly distorts and inflates the inferred topology. Previous research has shown that obtaining both exact and approximate topology in the presence of anonymous routers under certain consistency constraints is intractable. We hence propose fast algorithms on how to practically construct an approximate topology by relaxing some constraints. We investigate and compare two algorithms to merge anonymous routers. The first one uses Isomap to map routers into a multidimensional space and merges anonymous routers according to their interdistances. The second algorithm is based on neighbor router information, which trades off some accuracy with speed. We evaluate our inference algorithms on Internet-like and real Internet topologies. Our results show that almost full measurement is needed to fully discover the underlay topology. However, substantial reduction in measurements can be achieved if a little accuracy, say 5%, can be compromised. A new analytical model to eliminate redundant discrete cosine transform (DCT) and quantisation (Q) computations in block-based video encoders is proposed. The dynamic ranges of the quantised DCT coefficients are analysed, then a threshold scheme is derived to determine whether the DCT and Q computations can be skipped without video quality degradation. In addition, fast DCT/inverse DCT (IDCT) algorithms are presented to implement the proposed analytical model. The proposed analytical model is compared with other comparable analytical models reported in the literature. Both the theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed analytical model can greatly reduce the computational complexity of video encoding without any performance degradation and outperforms other analytical models  相似文献

This work reports a detailed study of the re-oxidation effects on the hydrogen content and optical properties of silicon oxynitride films grown by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) with N2O, NH3 and SiH4 as the precursors. Results showed that the silicon oxynitride deposited with gas flow rates of NH3/N2O/SiH4 = 20/500/20 (sccm) has favorable properties for integrated waveguide applications. The refractive index of this layer is about 1.57 at 632.8 nm wavelength and the layer has a comparative low density of NH bonds. With a high temperature re-oxidation of the as-deposited film, the hydrogen content of the oxynitride film was reduced from 2.255 × 1022 to 6.98 × 1020 cm−3 which is attributed to the removal of excess silicon oxidation and hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

Fast-polarization-hopping (FPH) transmission diversity is herein proposed to mitigate prolonged deep fades at the mobile receiver in, for example, the indoor propagation environment. Even if the individual multipaths are each sufficiently strong for detection, deep fades may occur due to the multipath signals' destructive summation at the receiver. The relative immobility of the transmitter, the propagation environment, and the receiver in the indoor environment means that a deep fade may last for a very long duration, dropping calls or severing links. By rapidly hopping the transmission polarization (say, alternating transmission between a vertically-polarized-dipole antenna and a horizontally-polarized-dipole antenna - or between two "X"-oriented dipoles), the effective propagation channel experiences consecutive polarization modes (each involving a different multipath summation), all within the duration allowed by the channel-coder's interleaving depth. This scheme is usable for either frequency-shift keying (with incoherent demodulation), or for channel-coded phase-shift keying (with differential coding, or with pilot-symbol phase synchronization). This scheme requires no change in the mobile receiver (which does not need to be dual polarized). The base station also needs no spatially separated antenna array, nor any other additional hardware, no mechanical movement of the transmitting antenna(s), and no sophisticated signal processing (such as channel estimation or closed-loop feedback) nor any additional software. The proposed scheme's cost - relative to using antenna arrays at the base station and/or the mobile - is a potentially doubling of the transmission bandwidth. The proposed scheme's potential is illustrated by limited computer simulations using CINDOOR, a polarization-sensitive indoor wireless-propagation ray-tracing simulation software package based on geometrical optics and the uniform theory of diffraction (GO/UTD).  相似文献
