A context-aware application in the pervasive computing environment provides intuitive user centric services using implicit context cues. Personalization and control are important issues for this class of application as they enable end-users to understand and configure the behavior of an application. However most development efforts for building context-aware applications focus on the sensor fusion and machine learning algorithms to generate and distribute context cues that drive the application with little emphasis on user-centric issues. We argue that, to elevate user experiences with context-aware applications, it is very important to address these personalization and control issues at the system interface level in parallel to context centric design. Towards this direction, we present Persona, a toolkit that provides support for extending context-aware applications with end-user personalization and control features. Specifically, Persona exposes a few application programming interfaces that abstract end-user customization and control mechanisms and enables developers to integrate these user-centric aspects with rest of the application seamlessly. There are two primary advantages of Persona. First, it can be used with various existing middlewares as a ready-to-use plug-in to build customizable and controllable context-aware applications. Second, existing context-aware applications can easily be augmented to provide end-user personalization and control support. In this paper, we discuss the design and implementation of Persona and demonstrate its usefulness through the development and augmentation of a range of common context-aware applications.  相似文献

A new LAPS (light-addressable potentiometric sensor) set-up will be introduced, in which the light sources are miniaturised by the utilisation of a VCSEL (vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser) array to increase the measurement spot density. An FPGA (field-programmable gate array) is used to generate modulation signals for individual illumination of each measurement spot of the LAPS. The new set-up can operate a large number of measurement spots simultaneously by reading out the sum photocurrent and separate the signals of the individual measurement spots by an FFT analysis. The frequency, amplitude and offset of the modulation signal can be configured for each measurement spot by software. The new system can be combined with a positioning stage allowing the parallel read out of a single line of measurement spots and a scan perpendicular to that line in a similar manner, like for an optical scanner set-up. First measurements demonstrate the functionality of the new LAPS set-up as a chemical imaging system.  相似文献

An anomalous increase of current with time has been found in iron-doped titania ceramics that have been subjected to a constant field. The result of thermally stimulated current analysis shows a peak at a temperature of 170°–180°C, which increases because of the depolarization of oxygen vacancies. X-ray photoemission spectroscopy indicates that an electrical stress results in an electrochemical reduction inside the specimen, particularly on the cathodic side. These results reinforce the viewpoint that the space charge that is responsible for the anomalous current results from a blockage of the O2( g )/O2−( s ) ion transfer at the cathode.  相似文献

In this study, we report the characterization of carbonaceous films deposited on metal substrates by liquid-phase electrodeposition in methanol. The characterization of carbonaceous films by electrodeposition was examined by means of Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS), atom probe (AP) and high resolution-elastic recoil detection analysis (HR-ERDA). From these results, it was found that the films deposited on the metal substrates were composed of the sp2 and sp3 carbon contents, of which the ratio was about 7:3. Furthermore, the films by electrodeposition contained much hydrogen. The hydrogen contents in the surface were about 60 at.% and those in the subsurface were a few 10 at.%.  相似文献

Conservation laws of mass, momentum, and energy for the thermo-inelastic body in the region involving the moving interface between the solid and liquid are introduced to derive jump conditions of velocity, stress, and energy on the interface as the sequence of local form for the generalized Reynolds transport theorem. The jump condition of energy is revealed to be the generalized Stefan condition for moving interface problems. The finite element formulation is used to analyze the modes of flow, deformation, and stresses in a melting or solidifying process by employing a viscoplastic constitutive equation that describes the mechanical behavior of both the solid and liquid phases. The mathematical formalism is applied to simulate bead-on plate welding.  相似文献

Recently, composite insulators have been increasingly employed mainly for economic reasons. We have developed a new type of outdoor termination using a composite insulator, which can be installed horizontally on a steel tower in order to reduce the construction cost. In this outdoor termination, SF6 gas is filled in the composite insulator and a cold shrinkable premolded rubber unit is applied instead of the combined use of a rubber‐molded stress relief cone, epoxy resin insulator and spring unit. The application of the composite insulator, SF6 gas and cold shrinkable premolded rubber unit reduces the total weight and makes it possible to install the termination horizontally on the tower. The new‐type outdoor termination for 77‐kV XLPE cable has already been applied in commercial use and enabled a reduction of the construction costs for power transmission lines. A 154‐kV new‐type outdoor termination has been developed and its initial electrical tests were successfully completed. This paper describes the design and performance of both 77‐kV and 154‐kV new‐type outdoor termination, and a follow‐up survey of the 77‐kV new termination in a commercial use. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The morphological characteristics, chromium valence state, and cation transport in the vicinity of grain boundary in La1-xCaxCrO3 were investigated by using TEM/EDS, XPS and SIMS techniques. The width of grain boundary was around 1 nm where anomalous enrichment of calcium was observed. Higher valence state of chromium such as Cr6+(d0) was detected in the grain boundaries whereas Cr3+(d3) and Cr4+(d2) were dominant in the bulk. Very fast interdiffusion of alkaline earths was observed in the Sr2+-La0.75Ca0.25CrO3 system. All observed phenomena were correlated by assuming the A-site vacancy which may be induced by the formation of Cr6+ at grain boundaries.  相似文献

A giant danaid butterfly, Idea leuconoe, specializes on apocynaceous plants such as Parsonsia laevigata, which has been reported to contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Females of I. leuconoe deposited eggs in response to methanolic extract of P. laevigata, and subsequent bioassay-guided fractionation of the extract revealed that phytochemicals crucial for host recognition by ovipositing females are Parsonsia-specific macrocyclic pyrrolizidine alkaloids including parsonsianine, parsonsianidine, and 17-methylparsonsianidine. Parsonine, another P. laevigata pyrrolizidine component with a keto-dihydropyrrolizine moiety that is closely related in structure to male pheromones of the butterfly, and several nonhost pyrrolizidine alkaloids were entirely inactive. We interpret these data as strong evidence for an ancestral association through herbivory between danaid butterflies and pyrrolizidine alkaloids.  相似文献
