Very few efficient bonding agents for use in solid rocket propellants with nitramine filler materials and energetic binder systems are currently available. In this work, we report the synthesis, detailed characterization, and use of neutral polymeric bonding agents (NPBA) in isocyanate‐cured and smokeless composite rocket propellants based on the nitramine octogen (HMX), the energetic binder glycidyl azide polymer (GAP), and the energetic plasticizer N‐butyl‐2‐nitratoethylnitramine (BuNENA). These polymeric bonding agents clearly influenced the viscosity of the uncured propellant mixtures and provided significantly enhanced mechanical properties to the cured propellants, even at low NPBA concentrations (down to 0.001 wt‐% of propellant). A modified NPBA more or less free of hydroxyl functionalities for interactions with isocyanate curing agent provided the same level of mechanical improvement as regular NPBA containing a substantial number of reactive hydroxyl groups. Product Design of Cohesive Powders – Mechanical Properties, Compression and Flow Behavior The three yield conditions of a powder continuum (incipient yield, stationary flow, consolidation) are formulated on basis of particle mechanics by the model ?stiff particles with soft contacts“. So that the direct influence of contact behaviour on flow behaviour is analytically shown. The powder compression behaviour is characterised by a compressibility index. Additionally the compression rate and the specific compression work are explained. So that the correlation between contact compliance, adhesion force intensification and powder flowability can be physically consistent evaluated. The response functions of extreme stressing and flow conditions at material conversion processes, storage and transport can be sufficiently described by these models. Glycidyl azide polymer (GAP) is an important energetic binder candidate for new minimum signature solid composite rocket propellants, but the mechanical properties of such GAP propellants are often limited. The mechanical characteristics of composite rocket propellants are mainly determined by the nature of the binder system and the binder‐filler interactions. In this work, we report a detailed investigation into curing systems for GAP diol with the objective of attaining the best possible mechanical characteristics as evaluated by uniaxial tensile testing of non‐plasticized polymer specimens. We started out by investigating isocyanate and isocyanate‐free curing systems, the latter by using the crystalline and easily soluble alkyne curing agent bispropargylhydroquinone (BPHQ). In the course of the presented study, we then assessed the feasibility of dual curing systems, either by using BPHQ and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) simultaneously (synchronous dual curing), or by applying propargyl alcohol and IPDI consecutively (sequential dual curing). The latter method, which employs propargyl alcohol as a readily available and adjustable hydroxyl‐telechelic branching agent for GAP through thermal triazole formation, gave rise to polymer specimens with mechanical characteristics that compared favorably with the best polymer specimens obtained from GAP diol and mixed isocyanate curatives. The glass transition temperature (Tg) of non‐plasticized samples was heightened when triazole‐based curing agents were included, but when plasticized with nitratoethylnitramine (NENA) plasticizer, Tg values were very similar, irrespective of the curing method. 相似文献

The effect of pressure and temperature on the shear and elongational deformation rate–dependent viscosities has been experimentally investigated for several polymers (HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP, PC, PMMA, and PS) on a capillary rheometer with a back‐pressure device. Pressure, β, and temperature, α, coefficients have been determined through simultaneous fitting of the shear and extensional viscosity data by the modified White‐Metzner model. The dependence of β and α on temperature and pressure, respectively, was investigated and it has been found that simple relationships exist between pressure and temperature sensitivity coefficients for individual polymers. Plant-based platforms have been successfully applied for the last two decades for the efficient production of pharmaceutical proteins. The number of commercialized products biomanufactured in plants is, however, rather discouraging. Cytokines are small glycosylated polypeptides used in the treatment of cancer, immune disorders and various other related diseases. Because the clinical use of cytokines is limited by high production costs they are good candidates for plant-made pharmaceuticals. Prion diseases are associated with conformational conversion of cellular prion protein into a misfolded pathogenic form, which resembles many properties of amyloid fibrils. The same prion protein sequence can misfold into different conformations, which are responsible for variations in prion disease phenotypes (prion strains). In this work, we use atomic force microscopy, FTIR spectroscopy and magic-angle spinning NMR to devise structural models of mouse prion protein fibrils prepared in three different denaturing conditions. We find that the fibril core region as well as the structure of its N- and C-terminal parts is almost identical between the three fibrils. In contrast, the central part differs in length of β-strands and the arrangement of charged residues. We propose that the denaturant ionic strength plays a major role in determining the structure of fibrils obtained in a particular condition by stabilizing fibril core interior-facing glutamic acid residues. 相似文献

Optimization of thermodynamic and phase diagram data has been performed and consistent sets of coefficients for the calculation of the phase equilibria in the system Ni-Zn have been obtained using the program BINGSS. The δ phase has been modeled as a stoichiometric compound (NiZn8). The binary liquid and the solid Ni-based solutions have been treated as disordered substitutional phases. The intermediate β, β 1, and γ compounds have been modeled as phases with substitutional defects and vacancies on two sublattices. The calculated phase diagram and thermodynamic quantities are in excellent agreement with the experimental data. 相似文献

In this paper, two categories of transform coding and subband coding are comparatively studied for compressing ultrasonic NDE images. The data compression performance of the discrete cosine transform-, the Karhunen-Loève transform-, and the discrete wavelet transform-based codecs are examined by being applied to ultrasonic NDE images. The effects of these compression methods on the analysis of ultrasonic information in compressed ultrasonic images are examined. Moreover, evaluation of the main elements in image coding system is performed to explore the important factors, which are worth paying more attention when developing a special image compression technique for ultrasonic NDE images. 相似文献
