Experience in the treatment of mandibular condyle fractures at specialized military medical institutions

The authors have generalized the experience of treatment of 82 injured with injuries of condylar processus fracture treatment of the lower jaw. By a surgical way were successfully eliminated posttraumatic ankylosis and contracture of temporomandibular articulations with use of titanium endoprosthesis and semi-joints. The osteosynthesis of condylar processus of the lower jaw by titanium miniplates and screws was also practiced.     

Production of reinforcement bar strengthened by thermomechanical treatment

The full introduction of a new line built at the Chelyabinsk combine to make quenched reinforcement bars will allow the combine to increase its output of quenched rolled products by 400,000 tons a year. This, combined with the use of continuous-cast 100 × 100 mm semifinished products, will make it possible to significantly improve the economic and quality indices of the rolled-products division.     

Primary prevention of occupational diseases and compensation for health impairment of those working under harmful conditions

The optimization coefficients for making demands of an employer to grant funds for measures for primary prophylaxis of occupational diseases are proposed. The initial payment is based on the expenses connected with these problems in the past 3 years. An approximate calculating scale for primary prophylaxis is presented.     

Use of neural net models for statistical analysis and regulation of glass ribbon formation on tin melt

A method for constructing and applying neural-net models for analyzing and regulating the conditions for glass ribbon formation on tin melt is examined. In this method models are constructed on the basis of neural nets describing the dependence of the indicators of glass properties on the regime and controllable variable input parameters. An algorithm for adjusting the regime variables as a function of the thickness of the glass ribbon produced is developed taking account of changes occurring in the effects which are under observation.     

Activation of a ballistic current of particles with the usage of a weak wavelike perturbation with slowly varying orientation

The problem of the motion of an ensemble of particles in a periodic potential field has been considered. It is shown that adiabatic rotation of an external force relative to the unperturbed system generates a directed ballistic current of particles. Once formed, this current exhibits a sharp acceleration at a certain moment, which is related to the entry of particles into a resonance acceleration channel. After the sharp acceleration, the average velocity of particles somewhat decreases as a result of the formation of a reverse current.     

Kinetics of addition of acetic acid to epichlorohydrin in the presence of DMF or DMSO

The kinetics of reaction between acetic acid and epichlorohydrin carried out in the presence of DMF or DMSO was studied. In addition, the conductivity of the reaction mixture was measured. The conductivity was found to increase considerably as the reaction proceeded. This was explained in terms of the formation of new effective forms of catalysts: the ammonium salt (in case of DMF) or sulphonium salt (for DMSO). A reaction scheme has been proposed, taking into account the active catalyst forms. The set of kinetic equations describing the reaction has been developed and the appropriate rate constants evaluated.
