An open biochemical reaction with substrate inhibition is analysed under conditions of a continuous turnover of its enzyme maintained by the enzyme-producing system (EPS). In this reaction, self-oscillations of a long period may occur in addition to the resonance phenomena found in a simple biochemical reaction with the EPS. A distinctive property of this reaction is also superadaptation with which the total enzyme concentration increases as a square of the substrate influx rate.  相似文献

To close extensive infected wounds and to replace long bone defects, along with other methods a method of graded tissue strain (GTS) has been developed and introduced into practice (246 patients). The method differs from all others in that it requires no transfer of elaborate flaps while replacing soft tissue defects; and no graft or foreign body is introduced externally into the wound in replacing long bone defect. Soft tissue defect is gradually replaced by wound-adjacent intrinsic tissues, the wound is closed by related skin and bone defect is filled by an osseous regenerate which is formed during graded transposition of the osteotomized fragment. At the same time good blood supply and tissue innervation retain, which contributes to their resistance to purulent infection. The analysis of the findings has led to the conclusion that GTS is an indispensible contribution to the development of plastic purulent surgery allowing the anatomic and functional integrity of the diseased segment to be restored.  相似文献

Reactivity of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) to serotonin was attenuated in vitro in vessels taken from rats following an audiogenic stress. The MCA reactivity to endothelin remained unchanged. Chronic cerebral ischemia diminished the 5-HT-induced contraction and the contractile responses to endothelin were enhanced. Preliminary hypoxic adaptation decreased the artery sensitivity to endothelin in ischemic animals. The findings suggest that a progressing ischemia may involve changes in reactivity of cerebral vessels whereupon hypoxic adaptation may prove to be protecting the brain from ischemia development.  相似文献

We examined the relation between language dominance and regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) during the intracarotid amobarbital procedure (IAP). A previous report limited to three patients suggested that dominant rather than nondominant hemisphere IAP may have a differential effect on rCBF. Behavioral assessment during the IAP also suggests that dominant hemisphere injection results in a differential effect on memory and affective symptoms rather than nondominant injection. Thirteen patients were assessed using single-photon emission CT (SPECT) brain imaging during both left and right IAP. The SPECTs were coregistered with the individual's MRI. Changes in rCBF during each IAP were compared with the patient's baseline SPECT. Nine patients had left hemisphere dominance, two were right dominant, and two had bilateral speech representation. In the left dominant subjects, left-hemisphere injection had a consistently greater effect on rCBF than right-hemisphere injection in the anterior (p < 0.005) and posterior (p < 0.01) temporal neocortex. There was also a trend for greater hypoperfusion in the frontal lobe of the left hemisphere. rCBF in the ipsilateral hippocampus was not significantly different after each injection (p > 0.05). In the two patients with right hemisphere speech, the reverse pattern was seen, with greater hypoperfusion after right (dominant) hemisphere injection. There was no consistent asymmetry in the two patients with bilateral speech. Dominant hemisphere IAP results in significantly greater hypoperfusion than does nondominant injection. These data provide a physiologic basis for behavioral differences noted after dominant versus nondominant IAP.  相似文献

We performed a lateral approach for the release of post-traumatic stiffness of the elbow in 22 patients using a modified technique designed to spare the lateral ligaments. They were reviewed after a mean interval of 26 months. The total humeroulnar joint movement had increased from a mean of 74 degrees to 129 degrees and forearm rotation from a mean of 135 degrees to 159 degrees. Both pain and function in the elbow had improved significantly. This modified lateral approach allows release of post-traumatic contracture without disruption of the lateral collateral ligament or the origins of the extensor tendon at the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. The advantages include a simplified surgical procedure, less operative morbidity, and unrestricted rehabilitation.  相似文献

Lesions of the tongue are often encountered in the process of a dental examination. These can include alterations of the tongue surface texture or colour, ulcers or exophytic lesions (lumps). The latter can represent variations of normal, benign or malignant pathological processes.
