Frequency-time method of correcting measurements of the radiation patterns of antennas

This article examines the mathematical aspects of a method developed for frequency-time correction of distortions of radiation patterns recorded in a closed range with partial echo suppression. The efficiency of the method is analyzed with allowance for the dimensions of the range and the bandwidth of the test antenna. The structure of Alu-like DNA nucleotide sequences in cyclostomes and fishes

By methods of DOT hybridization and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) structures similar to Alu repeats were shown in the genome of fish and lamprey. The fact of the presence of such sections in representatives of many orders of fishes, and also our experimental data allow to suppose that Alu-like structures, similar to 3' region of Alu repeats on mammals, have been already formed in these. The evolutionary significance of described structures has been supposed.     

The method of testing of XLPE cable insulation resistance to partial discharges and electrical treeing

The paper gives a method of model XLPE medium voltage cable insulation testing for partial discharges and electrical treeing with a point to plane test geometry. Based on this method, a comparative estimate of insulation resistance to treeing and partial discharges have been made. XLPE crosslinked by different methods (steam medium and hot nitrogen medium) and with varying contents of inorganic filler kaolin were tested. The characteristics of partial discharges were measured by means of a pulse height analyser characterized with a microscope. The data have been analysed statistically.     

An approximate method for the calculation of heat and mass exchange between gas and a liquid film

Regulation of organelle movement in melanophores by protein kinase A (PKA), protein kinase C (PKC), and protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A)

We used melanophores, cells specialized for regulated organelle transport, to study signaling pathways involved in the regulation of transport. We transfected immortalized Xenopus melanophores with plasmids encoding epitope-tagged inhibitors of protein phosphatases and protein kinases or control plasmids encoding inactive analogues of these inhibitors. Expression of a recombinant inhibitor of protein kinase A (PKA) results in spontaneous pigment aggregation. alpha-Melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH), a stimulus which increases intracellular cAMP, cannot disperse pigment in these cells. However, melanosomes in these cells can be partially dispersed by PMA, an activator of protein kinase C (PKC). When a recombinant inhibitor of PKC is expressed in melanophores, PMA-induced pigment dispersion is inhibited, but not dispersion induced by MSH. We conclude that PKA and PKC activate two different pathways for melanosome dispersion. When melanophores express the small t antigen of SV-40 virus, a specific inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), aggregation is completely prevented. Conversely, overexpression of PP2A inhibits pigment dispersion by MSH. Inhibitors of protein phosphatase 1 and protein phosphatase 2B (PP2B) do not affect pigment movement. Therefore, melanosome aggregation is mediated by PP2A.

This article approaches guideline implementation from the viewpoint of process innovation assimilation and presents specific recommendations for organizational tactics leading to successful implementation of practice guidelines.
