Osteoplastic fixation of the spine

The combined anterolateral osteoplastic fixation of the spine was carried out on 17 cases out of 73 operated upon for pathological spinal changes of various etiology. The tibial crest rigid homograft and the rib autograft on vasoneuromuscular feeding pedicle were used. Such a combination of bone grafts possessing different mechanic and osteogenic properties permitted to obtain a reliable fixation of the spine for all the period necessary for anatomic and functional reconstruction of the grafts.     

Forming dense arrays of gold nanoparticles in thin films of yttria stabilized zirconia by magnetron sputtering

Layers of Au nanoparticles (NPs) were formed in films of yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) on fusedquartz substrates by layer-by-layer magnetron deposition with subsequent annealing. The obtained structures were studied by applying high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to transverse sections and using optical absorption spectroscopy. TEM studies revealed the formation of Au NPs with a diameter of 2?3 nm concentrated in a thin layer within the YSZ film. The optical absorption spectra of the studied samples exhibited peaks of resonance plasmon absorption in Au NPs with a maximum wavelength of ~650 nm. The dependences of geometric and structural parameters of Au NP arrays (size, density, thickness of the Au NP layer, etc.) on the formation conditions were determined, and the regimes of fabrication of dense Au NP arrays that allow for collective plasmon excitations were identified.     

γ-X-ray-spectrometric investigation of plutonium and241Am content in the soil in regions where peaceful nuclear explosions were conducted

A brief exposition of the γ-x-ray spectrometric method and apparatus for analyzing the content of plutonium and²⁴¹Am in samples of soil and vegetation is presented. The results of an analysis of some samples from the regions where peaceful nuclear explosions were conducted in Yakutiya and Perm oblast' are presented. It is concluded that the γ-x-ray spectrometric method can be used to perform large-scale measurements in regions where peaceful nuclear explosions have been conducted, 2 figures, 3 tables, 8 references. Clinical manifestations and treatment of intestinal dysbacteriosis in patients with Flexner's dysentery

Flexner's dysentery is often accompanied with intestinal dysbacteriosis. Disbiotic changes in the intestine contribute to specific shigella endotoxins entering blood flow thus prolonging clinical symptoms of the underlying disease. Administration of bacterial biological preparations (bifidumbacterin forte, lactobacterin) relieves specific endotoxemia, reduces the duration of the disease and has an immunomodulating action.
