BACKGROUND: Staff development specialists are always looking for new and better ways to get the JCAHO message to their organization's staff. METHOD: The staff development department used a novel method, the Bathroom Blitz, to educate captive audiences, one-person-at-a-time, thereby using the common situation in an uncommon way. RESULTS: Twelve hundred employees had the opportunity to regularly become informed of JCAHO topics without having to leave the unit. CONCLUSION: The Bathroom Blitz approach was an effective tool for educating staff in preparation for the many "mock surveys" conducted prior to Joint Commission and the actual onsite JCAHO visit.  相似文献

Influenza polymer-subunit vaccine "Grippol", made up of the sterile conjugate of surface proteins of influenza viruses, groups A and B, with polyoxidonium (copolymer), was obtained at the State Scientific Centre of Research Institute of Immunology. As the result of our investigations, the coefficient of prophylactic effectiveness of vaccine "Grippol" was found to be 71%; in the presence of the 50% immune stratum in the group the coefficient of antiepidemic protection was found to be 66.4%. At the same time, cases of influenza and acute respiratory diseases were shown to take a milder form in persons immunized with vaccine "Grippol" than in the group of nonimmunized subjects. The results of this investigation did not show any side effects caused by the vaccine.  相似文献

In a series of studies to investigate the basic structural features and characteristics of the biological apatite crystals using a transmission electron microscope, we examined the ultrastructure of the human enamel, dentin, and bone crystals through the cross and longitudinal sections at near atomic resolution. Subsequently, using the same approach, we have been able to directly examine the images of the lattice imperfections in the crystal lattices of the human tooth and bone crystals, and the images of the fusion of the crystals. In this research, furthermore, using transmission and scanning electron microscopes, we examined the dissolution of the enamel crystals caused by the carious enamel from the same viewpoint. The material used for the observation of the dissolution of the enamel crystals was obtained from the region which corresponds to the middle layer of the enamel at the portion near the wall of a carious cavity caused by the fissure caries on the occlusal surface of the lower first molars. Small cubes of the materials used for the observation by transmission electron electron microscope were fixed in glutaraldehyde and osmium tetroxide and embedded in epoxy resin using the routine methods. The ultrathin sections were cut with a diamond knife without decalcification. The sections were examined with the HITACHI H-800H type transmission electron microscope operated at 200 kV. Each crystal was observed at an initial magnification of 300,000 times and at a final magnification of 10,000,000 times and over. The material used for the observation by the scanning electron microscope was the fractured surface obtained from the carious enamel. The fractured carious enamel surfaces were coated with carbon and gold and observed with the HITACHI HHS-2R type scanning electron microscope operated at 25 kV. The crystals were observed at a final magnification of 50,000 times. As a result, we have confirmed that the dissolution of the enamel crystals caused by a caries occurs in the units of "hexagonal cell". We sincerely believe that the electron micrographs shown in this report are the first to show the images of the dissolution of the enamel crystals caused by a caries at near atomic resolution.  相似文献

Clinical and physiological examinations of 76 women in the postmenopause revealed in 64 of them the typical form of the climacteric syndrome, characterized by not only typical symptoms ("flushes", increased exudation, headaches, etc.), but also by various emotional vegetative disturbances detected at profound clinical neurological examination of the autonomic nervous system and the emotional sphere. Individual hormone therapy was associated with an appreciable alleviation of all psychovegetative disorders: "flushes", exudation, irritability, arterial hypertension, severity of vegetative dystonia, hysterical stigmata.  相似文献

The fine structure, texture, and fracture of the ferritic 08Kh18T1 steel subjected to repeated hot rolling at temperatures of 800–1100°C and reductions of 35, 50, and 65% have been studied. When significant strains are reached, a layered subgrain structure forms in the steel, and {100} and {111} planes are predominantly located in the rolling plane. The mechanisms of delamination crack formation during rolling under HTMT conditions are considered. The development of a crack in a material with a layered structure is analyzed theoretically.  相似文献
