This paper presents an experimental study of heat and mass transfer and phase transformations in the suppression of flaming combustion and thermal decomposition of model ground, crown, and mixed forest fires due to local exposure to water. The experiments were carried out with typical combustible forest materials (mixture of leaves, needles, and twigs) and models of trunks and branches of trees. The conditions and characteristics of suppression of the flaming combustion and thermal decomposition of combustible forest materials were determined. It is shown that in the case of crown and mixed fires, local short-term (a few seconds) action of a liquid projectile does not suppress the thermal decomposition of the material (but can only lead to localization of flaming combustion). In the case of ground forest fires, this approach can be efficient with an appropriate choice of the water-irrigated area of the combustion zone and the rate and time of water spraying.  相似文献

Methods of X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, and measurements of the dynamic magnetic susceptibility have been used to investigate the sequence of phase transformations upon the mechanical alloying of a mixture of powders of the initial components of the composition (Fe0.93Cr.07)75C25. It has been shown that, at later stages of mechanical alloying, the phase composition is determined by the conditions of the dynamic equilibrium between the crystalline and amorphous phases. A change in the conditions of mechanical alloying leads to a shift in this equilibrium and to a change in the phase composition of the alloy. A comparison of carbide formation in the Fe–C system upon the mechanosynthesis, tempering of martensite, the saturation of iron with carbon from the gaseous medium, the quenching of the melt, and the sputtering deposition of films has been performed. Some general regularities have been established, from which it follows that an important role in phase formation upon the mechanosynthesis, just as in other abovementioned processes, is played by the thermally activated phenomena.  相似文献

This paper touches upon the problems of constructing a basis for stochastic functions, which represent samples of random numbers with a given distribution law. The algorithm for constructing an approximation model with the use of this basis is described. The general algorithm for signal recovery using the stochastic basis by the least squares method with a given weight function is given. The effect of copper on the properties of magnets (Pr0.52Dy0.48)13(Fe65Co0.35)80.3 ? x Cu x B6.7 (x = 0–10) has been studied. Alloying with copper is shown to decrease the sintering temperature and to increase the content of the principal (Pr,Dy)2(Fe,Co)14B magnetic phase. For compositions with x = 1.3–3.3, copper is found to affect the value and sign of the temperature induction coefficient (TIC). It is shown that the effect of copper on the TIC is determined by the substitution of copper ions for iron ions in lattice sites, which are coupled via an antiferromagnetic exchange interaction.  相似文献

A transition from the mass balance equations based on Kirchhoff’s first and second laws to modeling on the basis of a discretized continuity equation is made for describing a hydraulic network. A technique for calculating high-dimension hydraulic and heat networks based on the numerical finite-difference control volume method is developed. Unlike the existing approaches, the proposed technique does not involve the need to determine hydraulic loops and boils down to solving the problem of obtaining a unified field of pressures for the entire calculation region. This advantage of the proposed method opens the possibility of applying it for solving high-dimension problems containing more than a million of hydraulic links. The proposed numerical method features stable operation for hydraulic networks the neighboring links of which may have pressure drop coefficients differing from each other by more than 10 orders of magnitude. In contrast, the global gradient algorithm implemented in the standard software system EPANET is of little use for such applications. The convergence rate of the proposed technique is close to that of the Todini gradient algorithm and is almost independent of the problem dimension.  相似文献
