The susceptibility of 440 Listeria monocytogenes strains isolated from food (n=401) and clinical cases (n=39) between 1995 and 2005 was determined by standard agar dilution and E-test methods. Antimicrobial drugs currently used in veterinary and human therapy were tested, and they included penicillin G, ampicillin, cephalothin, gentamicin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, doxycycline, trimethoprim, erythromycin, and clindamycin. The sensitivity of strains was established using Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (formerly NCCLS) breakpoints and MIC50 (the MIC for 50% of the strains) to MIC90 values. In general, isolates were susceptible to the majority of the antimicrobials tested, including beta-lactamics and aminoglycosides, which are normally used in the treatment of listeriosis. Resistance to tetracycline and doxycycline was found in five strains isolated from fresh trout belonging to the same fish farm. Molecular analysis by restriction endonuclease analysis showed a similar profile, suggesting the persistence of a strain well adapted to the presence of tetracycline in the environment of a fish farm, which is frequently used in aquaculture in order to prevent infections of fish. 相似文献

The occurrence of ochratoxin A (OA) in paprika elaborated from peppers grown in several countries (Peru, Brazil, Zimbabwe and Spain) was studied, using an immunoaffinity clean-up column coupled to liquid chromatography and fluorescence detection. The preparation of the methyl ester (OA-Me) and liquid chromatography-electrospray-ion trap-mass spectrometry was used both to confirm the identity of the chromatographic peak that correspond to OA and to quantify it at low levels or in dirty fractions. A total of 115 strains of moulds were isolated; 85 of the fungal strains were obtained from OA contaminated paprika samples and identified as belonging to the Aspergillus Section Circumdati group (A. ochraceus) and Section Nigri group (A. niger, A. carbonarius). Among the latter ones, 31% of the A. ochraceus isolates and one A. niger were OA producers in vitro. None of the mould strains isolated from paprika samples with undetectable levels of OA or concentrations below 1 microg kg(-1) were toxin producers. Great differences in OA content in paprika samples were found, and a relationship with the climatic conditions of the geographic origin of the samples, and with cultural and technical practices in pepper manipulation is suggested. 相似文献

We report a new biphasic crystalline wurtzite/zinc-blende homostructure in gallium nitride nanowires. Cathodoluminescence was used to quantitatively measure the wurtzite and zinc-blende band gaps. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy was used to identify distinct wurtzite and zinc-blende crystalline phases within single nanowires through the use of selected area electron diffraction, electron dispersive spectroscopy, electron energy loss spectroscopy, and fast Fourier transform techniques. Little is known about mycotoxin contamination of triticale, a hybrid resulting from crossing wheat and rye. The purpose of the present work was to evaluate triticale as a substrate for aflatoxin accumulation in comparison with its parents. Aflatoxin (B1, B2, G1 and G2) accumulation curves were obtained for the three substrates inoculated with Aspergillus parasiticus NRRL 2999 and incubated at 25 °C and water activity 0.925 for 10 weeks. Wheat and triticale were poor substrates for aflatoxin production. Rye was more prone than the other substrates to fast colonisation by A parasiticus and accumulated larger aflatoxin quantities over the whole incubation period. The maximum aflatoxin concentration in rye (11 840 µg kg−1) was significantly larger (p < 0.05) than those obtained in wheat (2150 µg kg−1) and triticale (2850 µg kg−1). © 2000 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

The cure reaction of diglycidyl trimellitimide esters with 4‐dimethylaminopyridine, diaminodiphenylmethane, and dicyandiamide as hardener was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Isoconversional kinetic analysis was applied to nonisothermal DSC data and the dependences of activation energies on conversion degrees were obtained. Differences in the shape of these plots were found in accordance to the different kinetic schemes of the curing agents. Commercially available graphitized carbon nanofibers and multi-walled carbon nanotubes, two carbon materials with very different structure, have been functionalized in a nitric–sulfuric acid mixture. Further on, the materials have been platinized by a microwave assisted polyol method. The relative degree of graphitization has been estimated by means of Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction while the relative concentration of oxygen containing groups has been estimated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, which resulted in a graphitic character trend: Pt/GNF > Pt/F-GNF ? Pt/MWCNT > Pt/F-MWCNT. Transmission electron microscopy showed that the Pt particle size is around 3 nm for all samples, which was similar to the crystallite size obtained by X-ray diffraction. The activity towards electrochemical reduction of oxygen has been quantified using the thin-film rotating disk electrode, which has shown that all the samples have a better activity than the commercially available electrocatalysts. The trend obtained for the graphitic character maintained for the electrochemical activity, while the reverse trend has been obtained for the accelerated ageing test. Long-term potential cycling has demonstrated that the functionalization improves the stability for multi-walled carbon nanotubes, at the cost of decreased activity. 相似文献

This study aimed to estimate the association of cyclists’ age and sex with the risk of being involved in a crash with and without adjustment for their amount of exposure. We used the distribution of the entire population and cyclists (total and non-responsible) involved in road crashes in Spain between 1993 and 2009 held by the Spanish National Institute of Statistics and the Spanish General Traffic Directorate to calculate rates of exposure and involvement in a crash. Males aged 45–49 years were used as the reference category to obtain exposure rate ratios (ERR) and unadjusted crash rate ratios (URR). We then used these values in decomposition analysis to calculate crash rate ratios adjusted for exposure (ARR). The pattern of ARR was substantially different from URR. In both sexes the highest values were observed in the youngest age groups, and the values decreased as age increased except for a slight increase in the oldest age groups. In males, a slight increase in the lowest and highest age categories was observed for crashes resulting in severe injury or death, and a decrease was observed for the youngest cyclists who were wearing a helmet. The large differences between age and sex groups in the risk of involvement in a cycling crash are strongly dependent on differences in their exposure rates. Taking exposure rates into account, cyclists younger than 30 years and older than 65 years of age had the highest risk of being involved in a crash. 相似文献

The acrosome of the mature spermatozoon functions as a regulated secretory vesicle which performs several critical functions in mammalian fertilization. Acrosome assembly occurs throughout spermiogenesis and continues during posttesticular sperm maturation in the epididymis, resulting in a structurally polarized membrane-bounded organelle that contains an assortment of hydrolases and a stable infrastructure termed the acrosomal matrix. The role of stable acrosomal matrix assemblies in acrosomal biogenesis and function are poorly understood. This article presents ultrastructural, immunocytochemical, and biochemical data on the remodeling of the hamster acrosomal matrix during spermiogenesis and posttesticular sperm maturation in the epididymis. Specific posttranslational modifications of the major acrosomal matrix protein are evident in late, step 16, spermatids and matrix protein processing continues within specific acrosomal subdomains of caput epididymal spermatozoa. At the completion of sperm maturation, the acrosomal matrix consists of two structurally distinct domains which are adherent to the outer acrosomal membrane and exhibit a localized distribution pattern. Coincident with acrosomal matrix differentiation, a paracrystalline cytoskeletal complex is assembled onto the outer acrosomal membrane of epididymal spermatozoa. This cytoskeletal network appears to establish transmembrane structural interactions with the acrosomal matrix and may maintain attachment of the acrosomal cap to the sperm head during the early steps of the acrosome reaction. 相似文献

With the advent of affective computing, the task of adequately identifying, representing and processing the emotional connotations
of text has acquired importance. Two problems facing this task are addressed in this paper: the composition of sentence emotion
from word emotion, and a representation of emotion that allows easy conversion between existing computational representations.
The emotion of a sentence of text should be derived by composition of the emotions of the words in the sentence, but no method
has been proposed so far to model this compositionality. Of the various existing approaches for representing emotions, some
are better suited for some problems and some for others, but there is no easy way of converting from one to another. This
paper presents a system that addresses these two problems by reasoning with two ontologies implemented with Semantic Web technologies:
one designed to represent word dependency relations within a sentence, and one designed to represent emotions. The ontology
of word dependency relies on roles to represent the way emotional contributions project over word dependencies. By applying
automated classification of mark-up results in terms of the emotion ontology the system can interpret unrestricted input in
terms of a restricted set of concepts for which particular rules are provided. The rules applied at the end of the process
