In this study, the authors investigated the effects of the indirect dopamine agonist d-amphetamine (AMPH) on cue-induced cigarette craving in smokers. Abstinent or nonabstinent cigarette smokers (N=21) rated their cravings for cigarettes and for food (control) after pretreatment with AMPH (15 mg) or placebo and before and after viewing blocks of smoking-related, food-related, and neutral pictures. Before the cues were presented, AMPH increased cigarette craving and decreased food craving. Smoking and food cues increased craving for cigarettes and for food, respectively. AMPH also further increased cigarette craving (and decreased food craving) after cue presentation, but it did so regardless of cue type (food or smoking). Smoking abstinence markedly increased craving regardless of cue presentation or drug condition. These results suggest that both AMPH and smoking abstinence can increase cigarette craving, but they do not appear to specifically affect responses to conditioned smoking-related cues. The effect of pre- and post-extrusion heat treatments on the filiform corrosion behaviour of a well-known aluminium extrusion alloy AA6063 is studied by a combination of accelerated filiform corrosion exposure tests and potentiodynamic polarisation measurements for four different surface treatments. It is shown that the post-extrusion heat treatment of this AlMgSi alloy can influence the filiform corrosion properties significantly, in particular for the milder surface treatments. In contrast, the relative effect of the pre-extrusion treatment on the filiform corrosion properties is minimal for all treatments. The alloys are most susceptible to filiform corrosion in the β′ condition. The susceptibility decreases with coarsening of the Mg2Si particle distribution. For the post-extrusion heat and surface treated AA6063 material a clear correlation between the polarisation characteristics and the two principal filiform corrosion characteristics, i.e. the propagation rate and total area of attack after accelerated exposure, is observed. The observed correlation is attributed to a pitting corrosion mechanism with a rate depending on the (coupled) Mg2Si precipitate size and fraction. 相似文献

The solidification of a molten layer of amorphous thermoplastic between cooled parallel plates is used to model the mechanics of part shrinkage and the buildup of residual stresses in the injection-molding process. Flow effects are neglected, and a thermorheologically simple thermoviscoelastic material model is assumed. The model allows material to be added to fill the space created by the pressure applied during solidification, so that this model can be used to assess packing-pressure effects in injection molding. The interactions between the mold surfaces and the solidifying material are accounted for by modeling different types of constraints through different model boundary conditions. For several sets of boundary conditions, parametric results are presented on the effects of the packing pressure—the pressure applied during solidification to counteract the effects of volumetric shrinkage of the thermoplastic—on the in-plane and through-thickness shrinkages, and on residual stresses in plaque-like geometries. Plaques that can shrink in the in-plane direction while in the mold are shown to shrink more and to have higher residual stresses than plaques that are fully constrained while in the mold. Although the results are presented in terms of normalized variables based on the properties of bisphenol-A polycarbonate, they can be interpreted for other amorphous thermoplastics such as modified polyphenylene oxide, polyetherimide, and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene. 相似文献

Potato starch has been hydrolysed lowering the molecular mass. The influence of starch molecules mass on the mechanical properties of thermoplastic starch has been investigated. Acid hydrolysis was performed with hydrochloric acid in various concentrations and time spans. Acid hydrolysis of the granular potato starch decreased both the molecular mass of amylose and amylopectin. The thermoplastic materials have been made by extrusion processing of the various starches with fixed amounts of water and glycerol. The stress-strain properties showed to be influenced by molecular mass. The materials were rubbery at 20°C and 60% relative humidity. Although the tensile stress did not change significantly, the elastic modulus increased with an decrease in molecular mass. This increase was explained by differences in starch structure and morphology. The higher of the low molecular mass materials could result in a more rapid starch structural ordering. The elongation and tearing energy increased with incrasing molecular mass. Theses effects were explained by the higher amylose chain length and amylopectin endgroups chain length resulting in a more entangled polymer matrix. 相似文献

This study focuses on the relationship between coating composition and deformation and friction behavior of zinc-iron electroplated
sheet steel. The influence of phase composition and microhardness of the deposits and the electrodeposition process parameters
on the mechanical properties of the material were determined. The influence of coating composition on the friction and galling
behavior was also investigated. Both V-bend test and cup test were used to evaluate the influence of the iron content on the
powdering and flaking behavior of the deposits. Finally, the adhesion of the coating to the substrate was studied by lap shear
tests.
Although the soft η phase appears to be the main component in zinc-iron coatings with less than 16 wt% Fe, Γ1 particles were observed even at low iron contents. As the iron content in the coating increases, the Γ1 fraction increases and the coating becomes harder and more brittle. Above 16 wt% Fe the deposits start to show substantial
powdering and flaking during deformation. At iron contents above 30 wt%, bending of the coated product results in total coating
delamination. At low iron contents, zinc-iron electroplated sheet steel exhibits a superior deformation behavior, and both

Early detection of infection is very important for efficient management of Mycosphaerella graminicola leaf blotch. To monitor and quantify the occurrence of this fungus during the growing season, a diagnostic method based on real-time PCR was developed. Standard and real-time PCR assays were developed using SYBR Green chemistry to quantify M. graminicola in vitro or in wheat samples. Microsatellite dinucleotide specific-primers were designed based on microsatellite repeats of sequences present in the genome of M. graminicola. Specificity was checked by analyzing DNA of 55 M. graminicola isolates obtained from different geographical origins. The method appears to be highly specific for detecting M. graminicola; no fluorescent signals were observed from 14 other closely related taxa. Primer (CT) 7 G amplified a specific amplicon of 570 bp from all M. graminicola isolates. The primers did not amplify DNA extracted from 14 other fungal species. The approximate melting temperature (Tm) of the (CT) 7 G primer was 84.2 °C. The detection limit of the real-time PCR assay with the primer sets (CT) 7 G is 10 fg/25 μL, as compared to 10 pg/25 μL using conventional PCR technology. From symptomless leaves, a PCR fragment could be generated two days after inoculation. Both conventional and real-time PCR could successfully detect the fungus from artificially inoculated wheat leaves. However, real-time PCR appeared much more sensitive than conventional PCR. The developed quantitative real-time PCR method proved to be rapid, sensitive, specific, cost-effective and reliable for the identification and quantification of M. graminicola in wheat. 相似文献

Bupropion is an effective abstinence aid for cessation of smoking and possibly other drug use as well. There is evidence that bupropion improves attention and impulse control in certain patient populations, and improvements in these processes could mediate its efficacy as an abstinence aid. In the present study, we tested the effects of acute bupropion on measures of attention and impulsivity in healthy adults with d-amphetamine included as a positive control. Twenty-two nonsmokers (11 women) and 11 smokers (4 women) completed four 4-hr sessions where they received placebo, bupropion (150 or 300 mg), or d-amphetamine (20 mg) in capsules. Ninety minutes after capsule administration, participants were tested on attention with a simple reaction time task (SRT) and on impulsivity with the stop task, a delay and probability discounting task (DPD), and the balloon analogue risk task (BART). Participants also completed mood questionnaires during sessions. Bupropion (150 mg) decreased lapses in attention on the SRT, but did not affect performance on the stop task, DPD, or BART. Amphetamine decreased lapses in attention and speeded sensory motor processing time on the SRT but did not significantly affect responding on the stop task or DPD. On the BART, d-amphetamine tended to decrease risk taking in men but increased risk taking in women. Bupropion (300 mg) and d-amphetamine increased ratings of arousal. These results suggest that bupropion improves attention without affecting impulsive behavior in healthy adults. The applicability and efficiency of an alternative for impressed current cathodic protection (CP) for reinforced concrete, based on pulse technology, was investigated. The technique, denoted as pulse CP (pCP), was evaluated on the basis of a comparative analysis to reference (non-corroding), corroding, and conventional CP conditions, in terms of long-term monitoring of electrochemical parameters for the embedded steel with time of corrosion and protection. The hereby reported results are for the total duration of the experiment, i.e., 460 days of conditioning, also presented in comparison with earlier stages. Protection was applied after corrosion was initiated (using corrosion medium of 5% NaCl), at different time intervals (here reported are starting points 60 and 150 days of age). Both CP regimes used current density of 5 or 20 mA/m2 steel surface. The pulse CP was applied as a pulse-shaped block current (square wave) with the current itself being the feedback control signal, using 12.5–50% duty cycle at 500 Hz to 1 kHz frequency. Under equal environmental conditions and for a comparatively long period of application, the pulse CP was found to perform as effectively as the conventional CP with regard to electrochemical behavior of the steel reinforcement. Furthermore, the pulse CP technique was found to achieve more rapidly the so called “open circuit potential (OCP) passivity” as a result of an enhanced ion transport (chloride withdrawal) and more favorable cement chemistry (increased alkalinity around the steel reinforcement). 相似文献
