Electromagnetic radiation of electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems was investigated in situ for both the detection gate panels and the activators and deactivators. 'Safety distances' for the general public, defined as the distances outside which the magnetic field levels of the EAS systems do not exceed the The International Commission on Non-ionising Radiation Protection reference levels, were determined. Additionally, temporal and frequency behaviour, and signal waveforms were investigated. For the detection gates, the spatially averaged fields exceeded the reference levels for five of the six investigated systems. For the (de)activators, the spatially averaged fields did not exceed the reference levels. Maximal fields up to 148.0 A m(-1) were measured from 20 cm on. The exposure ratios varied from 8 to 13 for EM, from 6 to 8 for AM and from 0.008 to 1.8 for RF systems. Safety distances were maximally 111 cm for EM, 77 cm for AM and 35 cm for RF systems.  相似文献

For the first time, a mm-wave personal exposure meter (mm-PEM) for the 5th generation of mobile networks (5G) exposure assessment in indoor diffuse fields is presented. The design is based on simulations and on-phantom calibration measurements in a mm-wave reverberation chamber (RC) at 60 GHz. The mm-PEM consists of an array of nine antennas on the body. Using the mm-PEM, the incident power density (IPD) is measured in the unloaded RC, for the antenna(s) on the phantom and RC loaded with phantom. The uncertainty of the mm-PEM is then determined in terms of its response, which is defined as the ratio of antenna aperture for the above measurement scenarios. Using nine antennas, the designed meter has a response of 1.043 (0.17 dB) at 60 GHz, which is very close to 1 (0 dB), the desired ideal response value. The mm-PEM measured an IPD of 96.6 W m??2 at 60 GHz in the RC, for an input power of 1 W. In addition, the average absorption cross-section of the phantom is determined as 225 cm2, which is an excellent agreement with its physical dimensions.  相似文献

Although organizational learning has been studied extensively, empirical studies in relation to crises and theory building have remained scarce. This study explored what factors affect the learning process from crises of a public sector organization. We studied the responses of the Dutch food safety services (NVWA) to the veterinary crises classical swine fever (1997–1998), foot‐and‐mouth disease (2001), avian influenza (2003) and Q fever (2007–2010). Data from in‐depth interviews with key experts in the organization and from crisis management documents pointed to political–economic context, social–emotional understanding, organizational structure, organizational culture, crisis management stage and organizational forgetting as key factors. Remarkably, postcrisis evaluation reports, leadership and a shared sense‐making of what lessons to learn were not found to play a central role.  相似文献

The high electron mobility of compound semiconductor materials, arising from the combination of low effective mass and materials dependent intervalley scattering mechanisms, can result in high velocity and low backscatter electrons being injected at the source side of a III-V nMOSFET. In combination, these factors have the potential to meet the highly challenging performance metrics of the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) [1] beyond the 15 nm technology generation, in particular the need to reduce supply voltages towards 0.5 V. This paper highlights some challenges over and above those of developing a high quality dielectric/III-V semiconductor interface, specifically in the areas of scaled source/drain contact formation and channel materials and device architectures which have to be addressed if III-V MOSFETs are to be a credible solution to enable continued scaling of the ITRS beyond 2018.  相似文献

Coupling radiative transfer models for the soil background and vegetation canopy layers is facilitated by means of the four-stream flux interaction concept and use of the adding method. Also the coupling to a state-of-the-art atmospheric radiative transfer model like MODTRAN4 can be established in this way, thus enabling the realistic simulation of top-of-atmosphere radiances detected by space-borne remote sensing instruments. Possible applications of coupled modeling vary from mission design to parameter retrieval and data assimilation. This paper introduces a modified Hapke soil BRDF model, a robust version of the PROSPECT leaf model, and a modernized canopy radiative transfer model called 4SAIL2. The latter is a hybrid two-layer version of SAIL accommodating horizontal and vertical heterogeneities, featuring improved modeling of the hot spot effect and output of canopy absorptances. The integrated model is simply called SLC (soil-leaf-canopy) and has been implemented as a speed-optimized Windows DLL which allows efficient use of computer resources even when simulating massive amounts of hyperspectral multi-angular observations. In this paper various examples of possible model output are shown, including simulated satellite image products. First validation results have been obtained from atmospherically corrected hyperspectral multi-angular CHRIS-PROBA data of the Upper Rhine Valley in Germany.  相似文献

The efficiency of personal video suggestions generated by recommender systems is highly dependent on the quality of the obtained user feedback. This feedback has to reflect the personal interest in the content of the viewed video, to obtain accurate results. However, user feedback might undesirably be influenced by additional aspects such as the loading speed or the quality of the video. To date, this issue has received very little research attention. Therefore, this study investigates the direct influence of audio-visual quality parameters on explicit user feedback for the first time to our knowledge via a mobile, Living Lab experiment. This paper proposes a feedback model which takes the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters of the mobile network into account. This model can be used as an additional feedback filter for video recommendation systems that could help to eliminate the influences of QoS on explicit user feedback.  相似文献

One of the issues in planning research and planning practice are their apparent incompatibility. Various fields study aspects of planning, but too little is jointly used in practice. Starting from the human planner as a cognitive system, we elaborate the mixed initiative approach, in which we combine three fields: cognitive aspects of the task of the human planner, computer support, and algorithms. In this article, we argue that algorithms should be created for planners’ subtasks rather than for planning problems. We demonstrate this in a prototype that we developed for a shunting planning project we are involved in at the Netherlands Railways [Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS)]. In this project, a task analysis resulted in a planning support system with bottom up designed scheduling algorithms.  相似文献
