In the Gurson-Tvergaard model a failure criterion has to be used to signify the void coalescence. In the literature, a constant critical void volume fraction criterion has been widely used. However, it is questionable whether the critical void volume fraction is a material constant and, furthermore, it is also difficult in practice to determine the constant. By modifying Thomason's plastic limit-load model, a new failure criterion which is fully compatible with the Gurson-Tvergaard model, is presented in this study. In the present criterion, the void coalescence failure mechanism by internal necking has been considered and the material failure is a natural result of the development of dual constitutive, stable and unstable, responses. In practical application of the present criterion, no critical void volume fraction needs to be pre-determined either numerically or experimentally. Furthermore, according to the new criterion, the void volume fraction corresponding to void coalescence is not a material constant, rather a function of stress triaxiality. The predictions using the present criterion have been compared with the finite element results by Koplik and Needleman, and very good agreement is observed. The potential advantage of this criterion and other related issues are discussed. 相似文献

Abstact The subject of this paper is the investigation of finite-size effects and the determination of critical parameters for a class of truncated Lennard-Jones potentials. Despite significant recent progress in our ability to model phase equilibria in multicomponent mixtures from direct molecular simulations, the accurate determination of critical parameters remains a difficult problem. Gibbs ensemble Monte Carlo simulations with systems of controlled linear system size are used to obtain the phase behavior in the near-critical region for two- and three dimensional Lennard-Jones fluids with reduced cutoff radii of 3, 3.5, and 5. For the two-dimensional systems, crossover of the effective exponent for the width of the coexistence curve from mean field ( = 1/2 in the immediate vicinity of the critical point to Ising-like (= 1/8) farther away is observed. Critical parameters determined by fitting the data that follow Ising-like behavior are in good agreement with literature values obtained with finite-size scaling methods. For the three-dimensional systems, no crossover to mean field-type behavior was apparent. Extrapolated results for the critical parameters are consistent with literature estimates for similar fluids. For both two- and three-dimensional fluids, system size effects on the coexistence curves away from the critical point are small, normally within simulation statistical uncertainties.Invited paper presented at the Twelfth Symposium on Thermophysical Properties, June 19–24, 1994, Boulder. Finite element matrix equations, derived from two-dimensional piezoelectric high frequency plate theory are solved to study the vibrational behavior of the third overtone of thickness shear in square and circular SC-cut quartz resonators. The mass-loading and electric effects of electrodes are included. A perturbation method which reduces the memory requirements and computational time significantly is employed to calculate the piezoelectric resonant frequencies. A new storage scheme is introduced which reduces memory requirements for mass matrix by about 90% over that of the envelope storage scheme. Substructure techniques are used in eigenvalue calculation to save storage. Resonant frequency and the mode shapes of the harmonic third overtone thickness shear vibrations for square and circular plates are calculated. A predominant third overtone thickness shear displacement, coupled with the third overtone of thickness stretch and thickness twist, is observed. Weak coupling between the third order thickness shear displacement and the zeroth-, first-, and second-order displacements is noted. Im Blockbetrieb ist der Gesamtverlust kaum vom Lastzustand (Schlupf) abhängig. Im Synchronismus sind die Verluste jedoch ungleichmäßig auf die einzelnen Läuferstränge oder Stäbe verteilt. Die Maxima und Minima der Stabverluste stehen im Synchronismus etwa im Verhältnis 10:1 zueinander. Die Verluste in dem am stärksten beaufschlagten Läuferstab liegen nicht wesentlich niedriger als im Bemessungsbetrieb. Die gesamten zusätzlichen Stromwärmeverluste wachsen bei konstanter Speisefrequenz quadratisch mit der Spannung. Im Feldschwächbereich nehmen sie in Abhängigkeit von der Speisefrequenz ungefähr nach der Funktion 1/1,52 ab.

During block-operation the sum of these additional losses is nearly independent of the load (slip). But at synchronous speed the losses are distributed very unequally among the phase windings respectively the rotor bars. The ratio of maximum to minimum bar losses is approximately 10:1. The highest ohmic loss in a bar is nearly the same as the rated bar loss. The additional rotor I2R-losses change with the square of the voltage. We have shown that dicyanogold(I), [Au(CN)(2)](-) is a common metabolite found in blood and urine samples of patients treated with different gold based drugs. Some patients have high levels of gold within their red blood cells (RBCs). Size exclusion and C18 reversed phase chromatography show that the majority of the gold in RBC lysates is bound to protein, but small molecules such as dicyanogold(I) and gold-glutathione complexes are also present. Dicyanogold incubation with red blood cells in vitro leads to a rapid and complete uptake of gold. This uptake is unaffected by DIDS, an inhibitor of the anion channel, but is blocked by the addition of external cyanide. Dicyanogold is also readily taken up by H9 cells, a continuous CD(4+) cell line. This uptake is significantly inhibited by N-ethylmaleimide, suggesting a requirement for sulfhydryl groups. Dicyanogold inhibits the replication of the AIDS virus, HIV, in a cell culture model. 相似文献

A real-time polychromatic target-detection technique that uses a computer-addressable color liquid-crystal- TV-based joint-transform correlator (JTC) is presented. One of the major features of the polychromatic JTC is that the spectra content of the object can be exploited. Since the liquid-crystal-TV panel is computer addressable, the JTC system can be made adaptive, by which the joint-transform power spectrum can be manipulated. Experimental demonstration of the proposed polychromatic JTC is provided, in which we show that the spatial and the spectral content of targets can be detected. 相似文献
