The monotypic type genus Bertholletia produces commercially nutritionally harvested edible seeds, Brazil nuts. It is an important product from the Amazon forest in the food production chain, with a 2008 annual world production of 78,000 tonnes, being Brazil responsible for approximately 40% of it. Although there are beneficial nutritional properties, the prevailing mycobiota of Brazil nuts include fungi that are producers of aflatoxins, such as Aspergillus flavus, A. parasiticus and A. nomius. Aflatoxins have deleterious effects in consumption considering the global distribution chain, affecting major exporting countries. The present review is focused on the importance of Brazil nuts for the Amazon rainforest, emphasizing on the social and environmental impact of its production, on the mycobiota contamination of seeds, and on the presence of mycotoxins and related food safety aspects. 相似文献

We describe a proof method that characterises a family of proofs corresponding to the synthesis of recursive functional programs. This method provides a significant degree of automation in the construction of recursive programs from specifications, together with correctness proofs. This method makes use of meta-variables to allow successive refinement of the identity of unknowns, and so allows the program and the proof to be developed hand in hand. Beyond the catalytic activity of nanocatalysts, the support with architectural design and explicit boundary could also promote the overall performance through improving the diffusion process, highlighting additional support for the morphology-dependent activity. To delineate this, herein, a novel mazelike-reactor framework, namely multi-voids mesoporous silica sphere (MVmSiO2), is carved through a top-down approach by endowing core-shell porosity premade Stöber SiO2 spheres. The precisely-engineered MVmSiO2 with peripheral one-dimensional pores in the shell and interconnecting compartmented voids in the core region is simulated to prove combined hierarchical and structural superiority over its analogous counterparts. Supported with CuZn-based alloys, mazelike MVmSiO2 nanoreactor experimentally demonstrated its expected workability in model gas-phase CO2 hydrogenation reaction where enhanced CO2 activity, good methanol yield, and more importantly, a prolonged stable performance are realized. While tuning the nanoreactor composition besides morphology optimization could further increase the catalytic performance, it is accentuated that the morphological architecture of support further boosts the reaction performance apart from comprehensive compositional optimization. In addition to the found morphological restraints and size-confinement effects imposed by MVmSiO2, active sites of catalysts are also investigated by exploring the size difference of the confined CuZn alloy nanoparticles in CO2 hydrogenation employing both in-situ experimental characterizations and density functional theory calculations. 相似文献

Concerned about environmental pollution, and aware of the comfort that polyethylene provides for daily human life, this work sought to replace a percentage of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with human or bovine hair. Hair is natural, abundant, light weight, non-toxic, and disposed of as garbage. The main disadvantage of natural composites is the interfacial adhesion. To increase the interfacial adhesion between hair and HDPE, stearic acid or oleic acid was chemically anchored on the hair surface, which leads to an improved contact angle hysteresis and hydrophobicity. Dynamic-mechanical properties of the composites were investigated focusing on the type of carboxylic acid used (stearic or oleic acid), hair length, hair type (human or bovine) and amount of hair used in the composite. Taking 40°C as a reference, using 15% of hair with a length of 1 ± 0.15 mm, the highest storage modulus value was obtained with HDPE with human hair modified with oleic acid, exceeding the value of the storage modulus of HDPE by 67.64%. Robotics in agriculture faces several challenges, such as the unstructured characteristics of the environments, variability of luminosity conditions for perception systems, and vast field extensions. To implement autonomous navigation systems in these conditions, robots should be able to operate during large periods and travel long trajectories. For this reason, it is essential that simultaneous localization and mapping algorithms can perform in large-scale and long-term operating conditions. One of the main challenges for these methods is maintaining low memory resources while mapping extensive environments. This work tackles this issue, proposing a localization and mapping approach called VineSLAM that uses a topological mapping architecture to manage the memory resources required by the algorithm. This topological map is a graph-based structure where each node is agnostic to the type of data stored, enabling the creation of a multilayer mapping procedure. Also, a localization algorithm is implemented, which interacts with the topological map to perform access and search operations. Results show that our approach is aligned with the state-of-the-art regarding localization precision, being able to compute the robot pose in long and challenging trajectories in agriculture. In addition, we prove that the topological approach innovates the state-of-the-art memory management. The proposed algorithm requires less memory than the other benchmarked algorithms, and can maintain a constant memory allocation during the entire operation. This consists of a significant innovation, since our approach opens the possibility for the deployment of complex 3D SLAM algorithms in real-world applications without scale restrictions. 相似文献

The electrochemical reduction of benzyl halides PhCH2X (X = Cl, Br and I) has been investigated at Ag and glassy carbon (GC) electrodes in CH3CN + 0.1 M Et4NClO4. At both electrodes reduction of PhCH2X involves irreversible electron transfer concerted with breaking of the carbon-halogen bond. All three halides exhibit a single 2e− reduction peak at GC, whereas up to three peaks can be observed at the Ag electrode. Silver exhibits remarkable catalytic properties for the reduction process, which is positively shifted by 0.45-0.72 V with respect to GC. The mechanism of reduction of the organic halides at Ag involves adsorption of both the starting reagents and their reduction products. Adsorption of PhCH2Cl and PhCH2Br is weak and slow, whereas PhCH2I is more rapidly and strongly adsorbed, so that two distinct peaks can be observed for the reduction of the dissolved and adsorbed molecules. Controlled-potential electrolyses at Ag have shown that the process may be directed to the production of bibenzyl or toluene, depending on the applied potential. 相似文献

The lipophilic composition of wild Arbutus unedo L. berries, collected from six locations in Penacova (center of Portugal), as well as some general chemical parameters, namely total soluble solids, pH, titratable acidity, total phenolic content and antioxidant activity was studied in detail to better understand its potential as a source of bioactive compounds. The chemical composition of the lipophilic extracts, focused on the fatty acids, triterpenoids, sterols, long chain aliphatic alcohols and tocopherols, was investigated by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis of the dichloromethane extracts. The lipophilic extractives of the ripe A. unedo berries ranged from 0.72% to 1.66% (w/w of dry weight), and consisted mainly of triterpenoids, fatty acids and sterols. Minor amounts of long chain aliphatic alcohols and tocopherols were also identified. Forty-one compounds were identified and among these, ursolic acid, lupeol, α-amyrin, linoleic and α-linolenic acids, and β-sitosterol were highlighted as the major components. To the best of our knowledge the current research study provides the most detailed phytochemical repository for the lipophilic composition of A. unedo, and offers valuable information for future valuation and exploitation of these berries. 相似文献
