This paper describes a set of visual cues of contact designed to improve the interactive manipulation of virtual objects in industrial assembly/maintenance simulations. These visual cues display information of proximity, contact and effort between virtual objects when the user manipulates a part inside a digital mock-up. The set of visual cues encloses the apparition of glyphs (arrow, disk, or sphere) when the manipulated object is close or in contact with another part of the virtual environment. Light sources can also be added at the level of contact points. A filtering technique is proposed to decrease the number of glyphs displayed at the same time. Various effects--such as change in color, change in size, and deformation of shape- can be applied to the glyphs as a function of proximity with other objects or amplitude of the contact forces. A preliminary evaluation was conducted to gather the subjective preference of a group of participants during the simulation of an automotive assembly operation. The collected questionnaires showed that participants globally appreciated our visual cues of contact. The changes in color appeared to be preferred concerning the display of distances and proximity information. Size changes and deformation effects appeared to be preferred in terms of perception of contact forces between the parts. Last, light sources were selected to focus the attention of the user on the contact areas.  相似文献

This paper introduces the conceptual architecture of a fully integrated, truly self-powered structural health monitoring (SHM) scheme. The challenge here is to power an array of numerous distributed actuators and sensors as well as wireless data transmission modules without recurring to heavy and costly wiring. Based on microgenerators which directly convert ambient mechanical energy into electrical energy, using the synchronized switch harvesting (SSH) method, the proposed solution allows avoiding the periodic replacement or reloading of batteries. This addresses environmental and economic issues at the same time, knowing that such elements are heavy, polluting and might be installed in rather inaccessible locations. Indeed, especially in airborne structures saving weight and maintenance cost is of priority importance.Previous work showed that such microgenerators provide a stand-alone power source, whose performances meet the requirements of autonomous wireless transmitters (AWTs) that comprise an acoustic Lamb wave's actuator and a radio frequency (RF) emitter (D. Guyomar, Y. Jayet, L. Petit, E. Lefeuvre, T. Monnier, C. Richard, M. Lallart, Synchronized switch harvesting applied to self-powered smart systems: Piezoactive microgenerators for autonomous wireless transmitters, Sens Actuators A: Phys. 138 (1) (2007) 151–160, doi:10.1016/j.sna.2007.04.009). Following this work, the present contribution presents a further step towards the integration of the SHM technique. It shows the ability of our microgenerators to provide enough energy to give logical autonomy to each self-powered sensing node, named autonomous wireless receiver (AWR), and thus to provide some local (decentralized) pre-processing ability to the SHM system.A preliminary design of the device using off-the-shelf electronics and surface mounted piezoelectric patches will be presented. Since the existence of a positive energy balance between the harvesting capabilities of the SSH technique and the energy requirements of the proposed device will be proved, the system formed by the combination of the AWR with the previously developed AWT, is a proof of concept of truly self-powered smart systems for damage detection in simple structures, setting apart application-specific optimization or miniaturization concerns that will be addressed in future works.  相似文献

Due to the high dimensionality of the spaces where the problems are set, adapted discretization basis are often advocated in complex physical problems (Navier–Stokes equations, solid mecanics, ab initio electronic structure computations) to express the solution in terms of solution of similar (but easier to solve) problems. However, very few mathematical studies have been undertaken to asses the numerical properties of these approximations. Within this context, we will present in this paper an overview of the tools required to develop more rigorous reduced basis approaches for quantum chemistry: a posteriori numerical analysis and fast exponential decay of the n-width of the solution set.  相似文献

This article introduces a new filtering algorithm for handling systems of quadratic equations and inequations. Such constraints are widely used to model distance relations in numerous application areas ranging from robotics to chemistry. Classical filtering algorithms are based upon local consistencies and thus, are often unable to achieve a significant pruning of the domains of the variables occurring in quadratic constraint systems. The drawback of these approaches comes from the fact that the constraints are handled independently. We introduce here a global filtering algorithm that works on a tight linear relaxation of the quadratic constraints. The Simplex algorithm is then used to narrow the domains. Since most implementations of the Simplex work with floating point numbers and thus, are unsafe, we provide a procedure to generate safe linearizations. We also exploit a procedure provided by Neumaier and Shcherbina to get a safe objective value when calling the Simplex algorithm. With these two procedures, we prevent the Simplex algorithm from removing any solution while filtering linear constraint systems. Experimental results on classical benchmarks show that this new algorithm yields a much more effective pruning of the domains than local consistency filtering algorithms.*This article is an extended version of [23].  相似文献

In this paper we study the diagnosis of distributed asynchronous systems with concurrency. Diagnosis is performed by a peer-to-peer distributed architecture of supervisors. Our approach relies on Petri net unfoldings and event structures, as means to manipulate trajectories of systems with concurrency. For a long time, term orderings defined by polynomial interpretations were scarcely used in computer-aided termination proof of TRSs. But recently, the introduction of the dependency pairs approach achieved considerable progress w.r.t. automated termination proof, in particular by requiring from the underlying ordering much weaker properties than the classical approach. As a consequence, the noticeable power of a combination dependency pairs/polynomial orderings yielded a regain of interest for these interpretations. We describe criteria on polynomial interpretations for them to define weakly monotonic orderings. From these criteria, we obtain new techniques both for mechanically checking termination using a given polynomial interpretation and for finding such interpretations with full automation. With regard to automated search, we propose an original method for solving Diophantine constraints. We implemented these techniques into the CiME rewrite tool, and we provide some experimental results that show how useful polynomial orderings actually are in practice.  相似文献

We present a novel hierarchical grid based method for fast collision detection (CD) for deformable models on GPU architecture. A two‐level grid is employed to accommodate the non‐uniform distribution of practical scene geometry. A bottom‐to‐top method is implemented to assign the triangles into the hierarchical grid without any iteration while a deferred scheme is introduced to efficiently update the data structure. To address the issue of load balancing, which greatly influences the performance in SIMD parallelism, a propagation scheme which utilizes a parallel scan and a segmented scan is presented, distributing workloads evenly across all concurrent threads. The proposed method supports both discrete collision detection (DCD) and continuous collision detection (CCD) with self‐collision. Some typical benchmarks are tested to verify the effectiveness of our method. The results highlight our speedups over prior algorithms on different commodity GPUs.  相似文献

The transformations of the French arms industry have to be put in the context of the dramatic changes in the geopolitical and economic environment, or globalization. This paper documents the role of military-related technological programs in French technology policy, and their contribution to the technological performance of defense contractors and manufacturing industry generally. It employs the concept of a French Meso-system of Armaments (FMSA) to describe the set of committed governmental organizations and industrial companies, which are bound up with each other through market and non-market relationships. The paper traces the main transformations of the FMSA that aim at preserving, through adaptation, the intertwined relationships between the state and defense companies over the past decades and in particular in the decade following the collapse of the communist system.  相似文献
