A multicarrier (MC) signalling was introduced as a means of reducing the effect of synchronisation offsets in a quasi-synchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) network. The incorporation of an antenna array (AA) into the multicarrier direct sequence (MC DS)-CDMA asynchronous uplink was considered to provide additional interference elimination capability. In addition, a combined AA and synchronous uplink transmission was proposed which results in more efficient estimation of covariance matrix to generate weights in the AA. However, the previous studies have considered each individual target, neglecting the comprehensive analysis of the system performances. Furthermore, the effects of diversity orders such as the number of branches in the RAKE receiver as well as the number of subcarriers transmitting the same data in the MC transmission have not been investigated. Against the background, the novel contribution of the study is that the performance of the AA-aided uplink synchronous MC DS-CDMA RAKE system is analysed under multipath Rayleigh fading channels in the context of the various shapes of multipath intensity profile (MIP) and the number of antenna elements. A porphyrin–peptoid‐hybridized silica‐coated gold nanoparticle is developed, which is inspired by the protein–chlorophyll ensemble found in photosynthetic antenna. In the natural antenna, chlorophylls are integrated into dense assemblies that are supported by frameworks of proteins, which ensure optimal pigment arrangement for effective light harvesting. In the subject platform, porphyrins are conjugated to the peptoid helix scaffold in a structurally well‐defined alignments and subsequently immobilized on the surface of nanoparticles. This prevents intermolecular aggregation among porphyrins and allows high resolution analysis of the effect of porphyrin configuration on the optical properties of the system. Interestingly, under the influence of plasmon from the gold nanoparticle core, the fluorescence of porphyrin is enhanced up to 24‐fold at the wavelength where the plasmon resonance matches the porphyrin excitation wavelength. In addition, differences in porphyrin configuration result in spectral modification of their fluorescence emissions. Particularly, the peptoid bearing two porphyrins at a distance of 6 Å shows the most significant alteration in fluorescence. The platform can facilitate extensive studies on the relationship between porphyrin arrangement design and their photophysical interaction in antenna complexes. 相似文献

Single crystalline silicon nanowires (SiNWs) were grown on Si(100) substrate using a gold (Au)-catalyzed vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) approach. The dependence of the growth time (i.e., the time of exposure to the Si source) on the density and surface evolution of the grown SiNWs is considered. It was observed that the density of grown SiNWs on Si substrate increased with increasing growth time. The highest density (approximately 1.1 x 10(6) mm(-2)) was reached at 4 hr. Upon further exposure to the Si source, we observed that the density was maintained for up to 9 hr. We suggest that the increased Si chemical potential in Au-Si droplets with increased growth time enhanced the SiNW growth rate at the interfaces between Au-Si droplets and SiNWs, and enhanced the transition of the NWs from the existing Au-Si droplets onto Si substrate. This allows the SiNW density to increase with increased growth time of up to 4 hr. Moreover, we examined the influence of the growth time on surface evolution including Au diffusion, facet and taper formation, and vapor-solid (VS) growth of the SiNWs. The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of the expansion device on the performance of a water-to-water heat pump using R407C, which has been considered as one of the alternative refrigerants to replace R22 with “soft-optimization”, at various charging conditions. The heat pump applying the expansion devices of a capillary tube and an EEV was tested by varying refrigerant charge amount from −20% to +20% of full charge and changing water temperature entering the condenser from 30 °C to 42 °C, while maintaining water temperature entering the evaporator at 25 °C. The R22 capillary tube system is utilized as a baseline unit for the performance comparison with the R407C system. The performance of the capillary tube system is more sensitive to off-design charge than that of the EEV system. As the refrigerant charge deviates from the full charge, the R407C EEV system shows a much lower degradation of capacity and COP as compared to the R22 and R407C capillary tube systems due to an optimum control of superheat by electronically adjusting the EEV opening. In addition, the R407C EEV system shows more a stable compressor discharge temperature at off-design charge than the R407C capillary tube system. 相似文献

This paper presents closed-form solution for buckling analysis of orthotropic plates using two variable refined plate theory. The theory accounts for a quadratic variation of the transverse shear strains across the thickness, and satisfies the zero traction boundary conditions on the top and bottom surfaces of the plate without using shear correction factors. Governing equations are derived from the principle of minimum total potential energy. The closed-form solutions of rectangular plates with two opposite edges simply supported and the other two edges having arbitrary boundary conditions are obtained by applying the state space approach to the Levy-type solution. Comparison studies are performed to verify the validity of the present results. The effects of boundary condition, loading condition, and variations of modulus ratio, aspect ratio, and thickness ratio on the critical buckling load of orthotropic plates are investigated and discussed in detail. 相似文献

Novel and low‐cost batteries are of considerable interest for application in large‐scale energy storage systems, for which the cost per cycle becomes critical. Here, this study proposes K0.5MnO2 as a potential cathode material for K‐ion batteries as an alternative to Li technology. K0.5MnO2 has a P3‐type layered structure and delivers a reversible specific capacity of ≈100 mAh g?1 with good capacity retention. In situ X‐ray diffraction analysis reveals that the material undergoes a reversible phase transition upon K extraction and insertion. In addition, first‐principles calculations indicate that this phase transition is driven by the relative phase stability of different oxygen stackings with respect to the K content. 相似文献

In this study, poly(D,L lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) was used as a drug carrier to generate two types of stents loaded with different concentrations of sirolimus. These stents were prepared by ultrasonic atomizing spray coating. Ultrasonic atomizing spray nozzle uses a low-pressure air/gas to produce a soft, highly focused beam of small spray drops. An isolated hypotube delivers liquid to the nozzle's atomizing surface while air/gas, delivered through the nozzle orifice at a fixed low pressure, shapes the atomized drops into a very precise, targeted spray. The stent was moved both in the traverse direction and rotated during the spraying process. The morphology of the sirolimus-eluting stents was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) which indicated that the coating was very smooth and uniform. The coating was found to have the ability to withstand the compressive and tensile strains imparted without cracking during the stent inflation process. Release profile of sirolimus was measured by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The release behavior of sirolimus from the stent surface had a two phase release profile with a burst release period of about 2 days, followed by a sustained and slow release phase. The mass loss behavior of PLGA appeared linear throughout most of the degradation period. At 28 days, neointimal formation was found to be significantly decreased for both sirolimus-eluting stents as compared to bare-metal stents (BMS). Assessment of vascular healing revealed an absence of increased inflammation in both sirolimus-eluting stents. Inflammation is commonly observed in drug-eluting stents (DES) with nonbiodegradable polymeric coatings. Taking these results into account, these novel sirolimus-eluting stents may be good candidates to resolve in-stent restenosis. 相似文献

Transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) was prepared with temperature-responsive hydrogel. The graphite was oxidized and incorporated into hydrogel matrix to improve the thermal response of hydrogel. The micro heater was fabricated to control the temperature precisely by adopting a joule heating method. The drug in hydrogel was delivered through a hairless mouse skin by controlling temperature. The efficiency of drug delivery was improved obviously by incorporation of graphite oxide due to the excellent thermal conductivity and the increased interfacial affinity between graphite oxide and hydrogel matrix. The fabricated micro heater was effective in controlling the temperature over lower critical solution temperature of hydrogel precisely with a small voltage less than 1 V. The cell viability test on graphite oxide composite hydrogel showed enough safety for using as a transdermal drug delivery patch. The performance of TDDS could be improved noticeably based on temperature-responsive hydrogel, thermally conductive graphite oxide, and efficient micro heater. 相似文献
