This paper examines the influences of ionizable thiol monolayers on the interfacial charge-transfer rates for redox-active ions by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Whereas short-chain thiols such as 4-aminothiophenol hardly affected the charge-transfer resistance for Ru(NH3)63+ having a high standard heterogeneous rate constant, the 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid monolayer raised this resistance to 3×104 times that observed at a bare electrode in acidic solutions. As the terminal carboxyl group ionized, the charge-transfer resistance decreased by a factor of 300 because of a double-layer effect. When 3-mercaptopropionic acid was mixed with 1-hexadecanethiol, the charge-transfer resistance varied over four orders of magnitude with the composition of the two-component monolayer. The apparent rate constant for indigotetrasulfonate at 4-aminothiophenol-modified electrodes decreased by a factor of 25-30 as the solution pH varied from 4 to 2. This decrease was opposite to the change expected from protonation of the terminal amino group. It can be ascribed to a strong binding interaction between the redox anion and the positively charged monolayer.  相似文献

A novel algorithm for the dynamic driving/braking force distribution is proposed for electric vehicles (EV) with four in‐wheel motors. In such EVs, the vehicle lateral motion can be controlled by a yaw moment, generated by the torque difference between wheels. This method is known as DYC (Direct Yaw moment Control) in ordinary engine vehicle engineering; however, the torque difference can be generated more directly with in‐wheel motors. One problem of DYC is its instability on slippery roads, such as wet or snowy asphalt. To achieve high stability, the loads of wheels are preferably equal. The load on each wheel can be evaluated as the square root of the sum of squares of driving/braking force and side force. Therefore, the driving/braking forces, or motor torques, should be distributed depending on the side forces of the wheels, to minimize the load imbalance between wheels. The proposed algorithm can solve this optimization problem approximately with little calculation cost, and thus this method can be applied for real‐time calculation within a control period. Approximate solutions obtained with the proposed method are evaluated by comparison with numerical solutions that require much calculation time. An instrument for the measuring method reported in the previous paper is a handy tester for three thermophysical parameters of solids in situ. Discussions about measurement errors caused by not strictly satisfying the measuring conditions, such as size and shape of the testing body, and about optimum initial temperature difference between thermal probe and testing body have been done. As a result of the experiment varying the shape of a probe end, it is shown that the radius of the contacting surface on a testing body has no influence on measuring thermophysical parameters. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The stability of hydrogen in ZnO is studied using hydrogenated nanowires by plasma treatment. Enhanced near band edge UV emission and reduced defect level green emission is observed after hydrogen plasma treatment. Through thermal stability tests, this effect is found to be stable at room temperature and nearly stable up to ~500 K, but begins to deteriorate at higher temperature. The study of the irradiation stability of the hydrogen in ZnO nanowires shows that the hydrogen is stable under an electron beam with an accelerating voltage lower than 5 kV, but is not stable under 10 kV or under an intensive laser beam. The results could benefit the further understanding of the role of hydrogen in ZnO and light-emitting devices based on hydrogenated ZnO.  相似文献

A simple fabrication, scalable to centimeter scale, of a permeable membrane made of block copolymer containing molecular transport channels is demonstrated by coating photo‐crosslinkable liquid‐crystalline block copolymer, consisting of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(methacrylate) (PMA) bearing stilbene (Stb) mesogens in the side chains (PEO114b‐PMA(Stb)52), onto a sacrificial cellulose acetate film substrate. After thermal annealing, perpendicularly aligned and hexagonally arranged PEO cylindrical domains with a surface density of 1011 cm?2 were formed and then fixed efficiently by photo‐crosslinking the stilbene moieties in the PMA(Stb) domains by [2 + 2] dimerization. The fully penetrating straight PEO cylindrical domains across the 480‐nm‐thick membrane were well‐defined and visualized as molecule‐transport channels. After exfoliated by removal of the cellulose acetate layer, the membrane could be transferred onto another substrate by either scooping or a horizontal lifting method. Throughout the processes, the fully penetrating PEO channels across the membrane are preserved to open at both ends. A simple permeation experiment demonstrates that rhodamine dyes permeate efficiently through the PEO cylindrical channels of the annealed membrane but not across a non‐annealed one.  相似文献

We report on the fabrication of organic photodetectors (OPD) based on isolated islands of P3HT:PCBM. Pattern transfer to the active material was done with photolithography based on non-fluorinated solvents and the excessive organic semiconductor was removed with oxygen plasma reactive ion etching. The photoresist system used was found to be benign to the P3HT:PCBM layer as confirmed by absorption, thickness and roughness measurements. Current–voltage characteristics and external quantum efficiency (EQE) remained unchanged after the patterning process. It was demonstrated that it is possible to photolithographically pattern isolated islands with 200 μm edge length with the same dark current density (<10−5 A/cm2 at −2 V bias voltage) and photocurrent density (>5 × 10−3 A/cm2 at −2 V). Furthermore, concerning the solar cell performance, the patterned, small-area devices showed power conversion efficiency of 2.1% and fill-factor of 60%. Dark current was observed to depend on the size of the remaining semiconductor island, which was demonstrated on OPDs with diameter of 50 μm. The presented results show the feasibility of fabrication of isolated devices based on organic semiconductors patterned with non-fluorinated photolithography.  相似文献

A survey of pesticide residues in 595 imported frozen products on the Tokyo market from April 1989 to March 2008 was carried out. Forty three kinds of pesticides, including organophosphorus, organochlorine, carbamate, pyrethroid and others, were detected between levels of trace (below 0.01 ppm) and 4.6 ppm from 162 samples. Chlorpyrifos, cypermethrin and omethoate were frequently detected in green vegetables (komatsuna leaf and spinach), cypermethrin and methamidophos were detected in pods and seeds (green soybean and string pea), chlorpropham (CIPC) was detected in potato, and captan and carbaryl were detected in berries (blueberry, raspberry and strawberry). The hydrophilic pesticide methamidophos was detected in flesh of lychee. Residue levels of these pesticides were calculated as between less than 0.5% and 30% of their ADI values according to the daily intake of frozen products. Therefore, these frozen products should be safe when they were eaten in customary amounts.  相似文献

Kiritani et al. encountered a large number of vacancy clusters in heavily deformed thin metal films at room temperature. In the present work, thin films of aluminum and copper were loaded to fracture in liquid nitrogen and transferred directly to the TEM without warming up (Cryo-transfer TEM). In thin films of Al and Cu deformed at 78 K, many defect clusters were observed at 120 K. In thin Al films, small defect clusters disappeared by the 120 keV electron irradiation. Upon isochronal annealing, some of the dislocation loops grew in their size, which is much larger than those observed at 120 K. However, in regions that were not exposed to electron irradiation at 120 K, only a large number of stacking fault tetrahedra were observed after room temperature annealing. In copper, the 200 keV electron beam did not significantly change the defect clusters observed at 120 K.  相似文献
